  1. Dude, have you seen Nate Newton? Guy that used to be called "The Kitchen" looks awesome! Cousin was telling me he saw a tv report in Houston about Nate and how Nate was standing with Deion Sanders and that they were about THE SAME SIZE! Nate had the vertical sleeve done. That was an encouraging story on the eve of my surgery.
  2. Hi y'all, made it thru the surgery on thursday and came home saturday evening. Wow, what an experience! Never been in the hospital before, never had an IV or a folie (sp?). Talk about motivation to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle!!!!! Ok, 2 questions: I came home Saturday and weighed Sunday morning. 332 lbs. This morning (Wed) I weighed 317. 5 lbs a day. Is that too much? I'm drinking 60 ~ ozs of liquid a day. What are typical results. Second, when did y'all start driving again? Bored to tears, watching movies. Best part of day is getting out and walking. Weather is nice, put in a mile yesterday and going a little farther today. How long before your doc let you get behind the wheel?...and, since no one is replying to the first question....is 5 lbs a day too much? Big D (not AS big)
  3. Hey Yolanda, I'm right there with you. I go Thursday. Didn't think I'd be nervous at all, but.........reading the posts here really helps to know it'll be a small time of pain and discomfort (comparatively speaking) as a trade-off for living the rest of your life as you really want to be. Keep the faith and keep your eyes on the goal! Dennis

Alright guys, where is everybody at?

Yo 'dawg, just signed on the boards today. Surgery is Thursday the 4th and looking forward to it! Gas sounds like it will be a major pain, but around my house, we're used to it!!! Used to blame it on the dog, but he died. Looking forward to hearing from y'all! Go Rangers! Dennis
  5. Hey y'all, got tired of 'lurking' around your site and decided it was time to join up! You guys really post some helpful stuff. Surgery is Thursday morning. I've been jumping through the hoops since I attended the seminar in March and FINALLY have everything ready. When the doc told me to lose 38 lbs before surgery, I thought, "dang, doc....if I could do that I wouldn't need surgery." I was wrong, but I have lost 55 lbs and I am so ready to get this going! I've already dropped a couple of pant sizes, but I'm thinking how great it will be to not have to buy clothes at the big and tall shop!!!!! Non-scale victories (learned that here) are great goal-setters. Riding the rides at Six-Flags, setting in a booth, riding dirt bikes, setting in a normal size chair on a camp-out, I could go on but y'all know what I'm talking about. Best of luck to all y'all waiting. Go Rangers! Dennis
