    Stomach Burnning

Thank you again for your replies and suggestions. Unfortunatlely I just purchased a 28 day supply of omeprazole but definitely will try another medication when I run out.

    Stomach Burnning

Thank you for your replies. When I left the hospital, i was given several 'scripts', one of them being for prilosec. Since prilosec was not available, the pharmacist suggested omeprazole and said it was the generic. I checked with the surgeon's nurse and she said it was ok to take it instead of the prilosec. I took her recommended dose of one 20 mg pills twice aday. I have been faithful with the medication but I still get the burning. At one of my post-op followups, the nurse wrote a script for an Upper Gi and said he would probably do an endoscopy to check the stomach. When he came into the room, he didn't even discuss those options....he just said the burning was due to too many textures for my stomach to handle. Could he be right??
  3. Hi, I was sleeved the end of July and have lost about 30 pounds. I look good (or so I am told) and feel good.... UNTIL I eat-- then I am sick as a dog. I get a burning in my stomach that tends to last a few hours. Since this discomfort began about 2 months post op, and occurs after most meals, I discussed the possibility of an ulcer with my surgeon. He quickly dismissed the idea and told me that it is due to too many textures that I am eating. WHAT???? I followed his post-op diet to the letter and i find his latest diagnosis hard to swallow. Anyone have the same problem?????????????
