Hi everyone. I am a newbie here I just had my sleeve on November 10, 2010 and was sent home yesterday. I have been sore in the belly area, but not too bad. The worst pain for me is the feeling when I drink anything it going down. I actually have it down to a science.....well sorta. When I have a little baby sip of Water -- by the time I finish swallowing, the pain happens from seconds 2-5 and at the 6th second, I feel bubbles and I have to burp. THEN.... it goes somewhere else in tummyland and hurts again for like a few seconds and goes away. I have been reading a few other boards and have also heard about people being best friends with gas-x to releave heartburn. I havent heard of that from my doc. If anyone has been in this crazy situation, please help because I dread drinking water..... --- not to mention the Vitamins....

can anyone recommend a good protein bar
fluffy replied to janinemaire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Janine! I tried a few of the Protein bars and find a good bit of them chewy and hard to "get down". I tried a protein cookie and I LOVE it! Its not chewy and very easy to chew into tiny tiny pieces . It doesnt have as much protein as a lot of bars on the market, but they are yummy and are easy to eat Here is the link so you can see it with all the nut facts and stuff <3 I hope that helps http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=WB-2021 -

By the way--- I would like to thank all of you that post here about your journey and help us little newbie folks out, because without yall I would be a basket case! HELP! Clear Liquid Phase Questions
fluffy replied to camera junkie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine on the 10th and I have been loving anything crystal light has to offer <3 In fact, they "fed" me lemonade crystal light on my lunch/dinner try in the hospital The liquid is the worst phase for me so I know what you are going through! However, I did take about a 1/4 of a cup of cream of potato Soup and a half of a cup of skim milk and mix and take out all the lumps and add a little spice and OMG I thought it was the best thing EVER!!! And I am a gum fanatic I specifically asked my doc about it and he said as long as you dont chew and eat and suck the whole saver and it has to be sugar free.... and no swallowing the gum , which also have to be SF -
Hey yall! So the past few days have been such a rollercoaster with emotions and hunger and EVERYTHING. To make a long story short, my mother had the gastric BYPASS. She is super dooper successful with it going from 315 to 135! ~~ so yes, she has done an incredible job. My mother is my buddy with this journey. She has been through all the steps with me. BUT---- when she asks me if I need something from the store and its not a clear liquid, she freaks on me and tells me that Im not doing this right and that I am just going to ruin it all and that I will basically fail for what I feel is eating potato soup.... She talks about how she did this and she did that.... blah blah blah and heck yes it worked!!!! BUT--- ugh. The doc told me I can have goldfish crackers for Christmas dinner and I plan on it She doesnt understand the different food/liquid and eating phases as us. So can someone please help me and either cyberly kick me in the head and tell me im crazy and she is right or can someone give me something I can show/tell her to prove Im not hearing and seeing things????? P.S. When can I have tuna? --- because Im craving it at the moment Thanks yall
