    I have asked myself the same questions. I was come back to it is the right decision, healthier for me and my kids. For the past 16 years I have just gained and gained and gained and I am done. Yo-yo diets and diet pills, I am so done with it. I am on day 3 of my liquid diet and this is the hardest thing I've done. I feel like I am going through withdrawals, like a drug addict. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it and I will be able to do more things with my kids, things I've never been able to do before! Good luck

    I am a patient of Dr. Jay and I was just wondering if anyone else out there was too?! I am scheduled to have surgery on December 3rd at Forest Park Medical Center. Dr. Jay came highly recommended and I am very excited for what my future holds. Hope to find some of his other patients here. Good luck to everyone!

    Today is my day one for my 7 day liquid diet. I have to cook for my husband and 4 kids and I did good tonight but I am starving! I can have the normal popsicles, broth, jello, protein shakes, decaf tea, diet snapple.... Does it get better/easier? I only have to do 7 days, I couldn't imagine doing 14. Those that only have to do 2 days, you are blessed!

    Well today is day one of my liquid diet and I am starving. I have had two protein drinks, a Sparks energy drink, water, chicken broth and popsicles today. I had to cook dinner for the husband and kids and just sit and watch everyone eat meatloaf as I sipped on broth. I just keep telling myself "I can do this!" I just hope this week goes by fast. This time next week I will have had my sleeve and on my way to my new life.

    I quit cold turkey also. If your not ready to quit and I mean R-E-A-D-Y then you won't. I haven't had a smoke June of 2009 and I still have cravings. Some days are worse than others but I don't give in. It is the hardest thing you will ever do but you won't be successful until YOU really want to quit. Good luck! I totally understand your frustrations. I smoked for 17 years.

    Well I did my grocery shopping today for the next two weeks. I start my preop diet Monday and I "think" I'm ready, guess I don't have a choice. I know it will be a challenge because I will still have to cook for 5 other people in my house but I can do it. I am ready to do this! December 6th will be here soon enough! Good luck to everyone.

    I'm glad I have a sleeve buddy to go thru this with. I will pray that your surgery goes smooth and recovery is fast and as painless as possible. I've been overweight my whole life and no matter what I do I can't get it off or stay off once I lose it. Good luck to you!

    Well I went in for my preop today and they had to move my surgery date from Dec 3rd to Dec 6th. I was a little upset but nothing I can do about it. I saw the dr and the nurse practioner and well I guess I am all set for the 6th. I got my rx for Zofran, was told I need to get Pepcid Complete and pretty much know what to expect.

    Preop with doctor is tomorrow. I am so excited! I have tons of questions so I'm making sure to write them all down before I walk in to his office otherwise I will forget everything when I get there. Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?

    Well I had my preop bloodwork drawn on Friday the 12th. All that is left to do is to have my preop with my doctor on the 17th. Once I have my preop then I will start stocking up on foods/liquids for my new life. Good luck to everyone and keep us posted as you get closer to your dates and as you hear when you've been approved!

    I'm done with everything really. I have my preop blood work tomorrow and then my preop with Dr. Jay next Wednesday. I am SO ready.
