I moved away and cant contact my doctor and im worried im going to get sick... Can anyone offer me any advice on how to get my diet normal again? Things people say...
Sophie replied to BlueOctoberGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a few people say that too me... but what they dont realise is that it isnt an easy way out.... its an aid yeah ok we dont go through the struggle of having to resist the food so much but we have to go through the pain, the discomfort, the 2 months on liquids! and that took some bloody will power... we have sacrificed going out and eating a full meal for the rest of our lives so that we can actually have a life... They just dont understand what its like to need that kind of help thats all... -
Ok i know smoking is bad and i should give up right now... but if ur a smoker u will understand how hard is is to give up both food and smoking at the same time. My question is, not whether or not i should smoke (because i know i shouldnt) but im a week post op, what i want to know is, how much damage could i cause to have like 1-2 ciggarettes every couple of days.... because i am sooo stressed I know this is more of a medical question, but if anyone else has been in this situation and can offer some insight it will be really useful to me :-)

Hi All, I had my surgery done just over a week ago and my doctor has put me on clear liquid diet for the first 2 weeks.... but last night my family had KFC for dinner and without even thinking, i ate a chip. And now im really paranoid because my doc said i cant eat anything at all for the first 2 weeks. I feel fine the day after. Has anyone had different experiences with their doctor? I'm just wondering if mine is being overly cautious or whether i could have actually done some damage to my surgery? I was also wondering if anyone could give me any idea's for dinners, ive still got 1 week on Clear liquids and I am soo sick of chicken broth... Thanks! Sophie

Thanks for the responses :-) I'm glad i dont need to worry too much. My doc said if i have anything with particles in it (even orange juice) i will cause a leak... so i got a little worries, but as the day has gone on i feel ok... and i think if i had a problem i'd know about it by now... I dont think ive ever actually had applesauce before (im australian) but that sounds really good, i'll give it a go... Thanks again
