  1. I agree! Thanks Ralph Cramden..er CT Fats for posting that recipe! I'm going to share it with my Bariatric Group friends! Another good idea when you want a nice frozen treat is to take a tub of low fat (FF) Cool Whip and freeze it. It tastes almost as good as ice-cream. You could also blend in FF pudding (choc or van) before freezing to give it more flavor. Another one of my friends also suggested taking your fav. zero calorie flavored water and freezing it until it turns into a slushly... This is really refreshing.. I use the Sobe Vitamin (0-cal) Water and its good!

  2. I had my band for almost 4 yrs before my revision. My only complication was that I developed a hematoma in the area where my port had been. My doc had sewed that thing in there to stay for good, so it was a bear to remove and left a fairly large hole. The incision above the hematoma opened a week post-op and the blood drained out. My doc cleaned it, packed it and it healed from the inside out. I also had a hiatial hernia that my doc found and fixed during the revision surgery.

    TexasT,

You're story sounds *Exactly* like mines! When I had my revision, I also had a subcutaneous Hematoma at the port site that my doc had to fix. He also said it looked as though I had a hiatal hernia (sliding hernia) but he could'nt get to it because I still had too much fat in that area..So now I have to wait to get it fix until I lose more belly fat *smirk*. Those ports are a bear to deal with!

  3. @Rootman some good tips there thx...

pain feels sharp but like the trapped wind pain (i was told) i had after surgery...sounds silly but never suffered with any kinda pain before so all new to me..

    xoxo

    Hi Jenni,

I was Sleeved 3-711 and I still get that same sharp pain .. Like a spasm when food or Water passes through. I get the trapped air .. It gets better when I belch the air out. I'm trying to eat slower which seems to be helping and more softer foods also helps with the pain.

  4. Hi All,

I was curious to know how many Sleevers develope some form of Dumping? I noticed of the past couple weeks ( I'm 5 weeks post-op) whenever I have a small bit of sugar or small bit of fat ( I can only eat 1/4 cup at a time) I get colicky cramps going accross the lower part of my stomach, diarrhrea, fatigue, hot flashes and sometimes heart palpitations. It does'nt happen all the time just sometimes..

    Thanks,

    Yvette

  5. It's true, using (cow) milk in my Protein shake does add in the calories, but what is frustrating on that score is that my Protein powder itself is so dang high in carbs. I use MAX protein, Click protein, and Syntha-6 protein powders, and a single serving of any one of these averages out to about half my daily quota for carbs! And while we are on the subject, we ar encouraged (at least I have been by my surg & nut) to continue to use protein shakes etc., isn't that "drinking" our calories? The only low carb Protein Shake I have found is SO disgusting, with the most hideous texture *shudder*.

Have you tried the low carb Muscle Milk? It's pretty good.

  6. Hi, Pre-op I would only get hiccups if I ate too fast. Now I get them if I eat too much or too fast and if I hiccup more then 2 or 3 times then I know I am about to get the foamies. I also will hiccup once or twice about a half hour after a meal.

    Nancy

I tend to get a hippup-wheeze about 20min to a half hour after eating. Its usually because I ate a little too much. I'm still lapband but will be sleeved in jan.

  7. Im with you, my doc also offered bypass and i was to affraid to be that radical so his second option was the sleeve, i too have had two band surgeries and have now gained 40 lbs in 7 months. i hope the sleeve is every thing the band was not. i just want to eat smaller portions and not be hungry all the time, i hate the fills and un fills and the port pain and pb'ing etc. my surgery is scheduled on 11/1, i am so scared but just need to get to healthy weight and get on with my life...

    Hi Vicki,

How are you enjoying the Sleeved life :-)
