    A shared journey

So excited! My daughter and I passed our Psch Evals - and are below are goal wait! We started our journey together, and have had are appts all on the same day. We see the case manager on Tuesday, 11/16 and are hoping to have our surgery on the same day. We discussed this with Dr Baggs and he said that is doable. So we will have to wait and see. Amber way to go! Congratulations on losing 25 pounds since orientation (9/27). How funny we started together and we have both lost 25 pounds. We are so close. Can't wait till Tuesday.
  4. Yahoo! Amber I am so proud of you. Losing 25 lbs since orientation is dedication. Thank you for taking this journey with me. How funny we have both lost 25 pounds. We should know our surgery date on Tuesday. Can't wait for our appt. Love you! Mom

    Challenges

Amber and I both had our appt with Dr Baggs - We both have to lose 4 pounds more for our surgery goal weight. We have our psch appts on 11/12 with a possibility for surgery mid to late December or early January. How is your journey going?
  6. Lee, All Kaiser Sleevers. Met with Dr Baggs and he is wonderful. He wants me to lose 4 more pounds and he scheduled me for my labs and psch appt on 11/12. The beauty of all this is that my daughter and I started this together with orientation and had appointments with Dr Baggs the same afternoon, and he actually did our appts together since she came in for my appt. He also schedule our psch appts on the same day and said a good possibility we could have our surgeries on the same day sometime in December or January. I am hoping for a December surgery. This will probably be my last entry on this site since Dr Baggs and I have agreed that the Gastric Bypass would be the best option for me. I am not a youngster and need the dumping syndrome to remind me stay where I need to be. My daughter is joining the rest of you here with the sleeve and I agree it is the best choice for her. I will check in on this site from time to time to see how well all of you are doing. I wish all you sleevers continued success in your weight loss journey. Amber, although my journey will be slightly different path, I am right there with you (4 pounds and we are there)! Wish me luck! Sherrie

    Met with Surgeon

So today will probably be my last entry on this web site since my surgeon Dr Baggs and I decided the Gastric Bybass would be the best option for me. I started this journey on Sept 27 and started at 221. I weighed 205.2 when I met with Dr Baggs and he was wonderful. He has a great since of humor and he did my appointment and my daughters together since she came in with me on my appt (2 for 1) how's that for taking care of us. My daughter is having the sleeve, so I will still check this site from time to time to help her with her journey. I am excited to be going through this with my daugher, we attended orientation together, our surgeon appt and have psch appts on the same day and Dr Baggs even said it's a possibility for us to have surgery on the same day. We are both 4 lbs from our surgery goal! The sleeve is the best decision for my daughter, however with my struggles the Gastric Bypass gives me the best chances. Good luck and much success to all you sleevers, I hope my journey will be as successful. Amber, I am right there with you throughout the entire process and always - Love you - Mom

    Challenges

How's this for challenges---My dear hubby had the nerve to ask me to stop and pick him up a DQ Blizzard Tuesday night on the way home from my chronic pain class. I was good I got a bottle of water and got him his treat, and then pouted as I watched him eat it and telling me how good it was. This was really cruel. My second challenge for this week, okay this is two days in a row he has tested my willpower. Today on the way back from the doctor he stopped and got a Merlino's freeze. I had another water, but I so wanted that darn freeze. Since he doesn't have a weight problem, it's not really fair of me to ask him not to eat those in front of me, but really asking me to get them for him.....that's just cruel. I am staying on the course. I have my appt with surgeon Dr Baggs on Friday and hope he will be able to see that I have focused on my pre-op plan and as of today have lost close to 14 pounds. Guess I'll just have to wait to see what he says I need to lose. It's amazing, I go to 3 dr appts a week for my knee, back and neck and hate these appts, but I can't wait for my appt with Dr Baggs. I am hoping to get through Thursday with no challenges --
