Java: I am in the same boat as you but I eat a little more. most the time its like 2 cups per meal. I have only had one thing getstuck and thats because I was eating way to fast. I am not really full off 2 cups but I stop anyway. I have had 2 fills and I am going to get another on the 16th of this month. I hope this time it will work.

My boat has been working the west coast for 20 years now I have been on it for the last 4 years 1 year AB 1 year mate and about 2 years captain. The boat has mostly been doing supply work. supply the oil riggs with what ever the need to drill or just to operate. I kind of want to get out of the whole boat thing and find a land job but the problem is I don't really know any thing other than boats I guess will have to learn another trade. anyway I am talking to much

Thank you all for the warm welcome back it's nice to see how everyone is doing. O2BThin: I never liked getting on the scale anyway but I think it's better getting on every month or so because the pay off is better 10-15lbs every month or two is better that 1-2 lbs a week I think plus it looks like to me every scale is a little different so I only use the scale at my doctors. Missy: I do only eat healthy stuff but would still only like to eat 1- 1 1/2 per meal I am the kind that has to eat everything on my plate even if I feel full. So I think I will try another fill and only puting 1 - 1 1/2 on my plate at a time and see how it goes. Bigbaby: I eat those Gorton fish all the time and I have a cup to a cup and a half of veggies each time and I sometimes feel like it's to much but as long as it something like green beans witch go down well for me I think you doing ok. Java: I have not ate any chili yet but I do enjoy a bowl of soup from time to time. I think when eating wet foods like that the band does not do awhole lot of good. When I have soup I like to put some tuna or something in it to make it more like soild food but what I found to work best for me is to stay away from foods like that becasue I don't feel full at all aftereating them. stef: All of our boats have e mail via sat but I have to pay for my own internet witch only works where my cell phone works witch is most of the time when I am not offshore. My boat is going to work in the gulf for awhile but I am not sure what it is doing to be doing. They want me to take a boat to africa so my 8 weeks may be longer of shorter bepending on what they have me do. I really want to go back the the west coast and work my 28/28 but it might not happen till well after the first of the year. last time I was home was aug 22nd and i don't think I will get to go home till after the first anyway.

thank you guys, you all always have kind things to say to me. MM I look at pics like this one and I look ripped but in my head I still feel like the "fat boy" a month ago I was 195 lbs I know I am still losing because I keep on having to punch new holes on my belt but when I eat I get bumbed out because I feel like I am eating to much. I think losing this weight is only half the battle the other half is getting in to a new mind set. anyway I am talking why to much I better get going.

Hello everyone! I am back with cell and internet. I have not been off my boat in almost 6 weeks but I am in the dock now with the internet. anyway I still feel like I am eating to much most my meals are 2-2 1/2 cups 3 times a day and I think it might me to much. how much does everyone eat per meal? I have not been on the scale in 6 weeks so I don't know if I a still losing or not. stef I was reading and i saw you DH works in the oil patch. Is he on the rigs or on a boat? I also work in the oil patch I am on a platform supply boat. I was working on the west coast for the last 6 years and I just got to the gulf of mexico today. I was working 28/28 but I am now working 56/28 anyway I was just wondering.

September Exercise Challenge
captain danbo replied to musicalmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at 455mins so far. I will not be able to post till the end of the month so I will just keep track myself and post when I get back from my trip. -
o2bthin I lost 60lbs or so on the pre op diet that I start 12 weeks before being banded, I lost the rest after june 28th. As far as if I needed the band? I think yes because I have lost weight many times is the past (not 100lbs but like 50-60lbs) and I always put it all back on along with a few friend(pounds). I am 26 years old and have lost and gained 5-6 times and I saw a pattern and I wanted the pattern to stop at a low weight. Thats why I feel the band would work best for me. Plus when I read stuff like 97% of people fail at diet and exercise it makes me work the odds in my head. I don't want to fail this time, I hope the band will do it for me. On another note I am taking off to panama today for 3-4 weeks so I will post when I get back. Keep up withthe hard work everyone.

waters/joey: I know it is very ez to get mad about your band not working yet. I had fill #2 today and I hope I will feel some kind of restriction this time. I know you think I am full of crap because I have done well with weight loss, but the band has not helped me yet. I only eat good healthy food and I exercise like mad (no less than 90mins a day 7 days a week, when I am home I sometimes hike 20 miles in one day) I feel no restriction, I have been able to eat anything I have tried ( still alot I have not tried) I hear people talk about food getting stuck and I can't relate. I just would like you guys to know even people doing well are having a hell of a time with this thing. I know I have only had two fills and I know it will get better in time with more fills. What I am saying is this may take sometime. I just hope I can stick with what I have been doing till I start getting restriction. I think I could. best of luck.

September Exercise Challenge
captain danbo replied to musicalmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am going to take it down a little form last month because on the 6th I got to go down to panama for 21 days for work and I don't know how much time I will have to excercise. I am going to try 60 mins a day 7 days a week. so I guess thats going to be 1800 mins total. Good luck everyone. -
My monthly total is 3455mins. Is there a thread for next month?
-
stef: I dug those pics of your rides. It's nice have places like that near by to ride in. It's kind of like me with my hiking, I only drive like 5-10 mins and I got some cool places to ride and hike.

I have 1 or 2 salads a day. I only have about 1/2 cup spinach leaves in each with a few peppers and it goes down just fine and I am only 8 weeks out. I do the spinach because I think it taste alot better

Stella: I have not been to one of Dr Krahn's groups but i have been to a few other groups out here where I work, I have fun at them because I enjoy talking to diff people. How is everything going with you and your sis? how many fills have you had? I am going for fill number two one sept 4th at 1000.

I also would like to go to vegas. It don't really matter to me when or where just as long as I have no less than 12 weeks notice. I work offshore so it is hard to get time off in less I have so time. I also will be coming out alone so if anyone wants to room up and split cost I am down. can't wait!

well I got to my goal yesterday hiking. I hiked from 6:00am to 2:45pm with 65 min break. I went to the top of san gorgoneio mountain 11,501 feet above sea level. it was the first time I did since the 11th grade. I think for september I am going to set my goal a little lower because I have a big trip at work planned and I won't have as much time as I did in august. I am still going to shot for one hour a day, but I think it will be hard. anyhow keep up with the hardwork everyone.
