Easiyo Yogurt Maker - Does anyone have one of these
Peffermintchili posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I got an Easiyo Yogurt maker for christmas from the one friend of mine that knows I'm doing this. She gave me the Greek Yogurt bases to go with it and I made one of them and I have to say they are really nice. Does anyone else here have one of these ? and do you use it alot after having this surgery ? -
Hi, Hope you're well and had a relaxing Christmas with your family and a safe and happy New year.
I got my appointment with the Weight Management Clinic to discuss my surgical referral. Did you have to do this as well ?
Take Care

Wild - I was given an Easiyo Yogurt maker for Christmas. It's really easy and so far I like the flavors on offer. So far the benefits I've found is 1) They don't contain added sugar. 2) They don't contain Gelitine and emulsifiers. I think there are other makers on the market but that might be the way to go.

I have the Mirena but not had the surgery yet. I did have some fluctuations with my weight when I first got it but not as drastically like with the pill. My Mirena will have to come out in 2012 and I'm debating whether or not to replace it.... I probably will.

You might want to check with your internet service provider. During peak times ISP's slow down access (in other words they do not give priority) to news groups. This website is considered a news group that could be part of the problem.

feeling presured to decide
Peffermintchili replied to herealone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what it's like in the US but during the psychiatric evaluation they will try and find out if you've been coerced into having this surgery or are being pressured in anyway to do it against your will. They will flag that up and it could delay things until they are convinced this is actually what you want for yourself. Maybe some of the stateside folks can comment on that. I live in the UK and I've been asked by my GP and was told to be prepared to answer any questions about my decision to have this surgery and if I was being pressured due to abuse etc.. Best of luck - remember it's your body and yours and only your decision on what to do with it. -
Does anyone in here drink Coconut Water ? I've become addicted to Vita Coco and I think it's a good thing since it's a fraction of the calories of soda etc.. and only has 5 carb and 0 fat per 330 ml can and it's all natural. I'm hoping to get the VSG done I'd like to continue drinking this once I do.

Hi CB. I'm not sure, I never registered for the diet and paid the membership. They might have a refund policy on the site. Else failing contact the lawyers listed on the documents and they might be able to advise you.

There are good coconut waters and bad. I drink Vita Coco which is ok'd by the nutritionist I'm seeing for dieting. It has no added sugar, no fat and no cholesteral. Iit's 100% natural coconut Water and I've been told it will be fine to have after I have the surgery. It's very hydrating. Now other coconut waters can have fruit pulp added and extra sugar added - these are not good. Make sure to check the label.

I don't want to start sling fest or anything... but have you heard about KimKim ? She's a fraud. People have become ill from following her diet and a 2billion dollar class action suite has just been awarded to the people that paid membership for and followed her diet. Here is some info: http://kimkinsscam.wordpress.com/ Some pictures here of KimKim and the founder of Lighterlife: http://www.slamboard.com/category/kimkins-diet/ I've done the lighterlife diet and it was absolute hell and my health suffered in the process. My hair fell out. I had nausea, vomiting and at night when I would try and sleep I would lay there shivering. I cannot stress how irresponsible these types of diets are. Please anyone doing any KimKims or Lighterlife please make sure you know what you're getting into. You should NEVER do low fat/Low carb with High Protein or vlc diets unless by doctors orders and then at the levels they prescribe. Otherwise it's dangerous to your health. KimKims diet is exactly this but she is No doctor. Not ranting at anyone I've just been scammed like this and don't want anyone going to Kimkims site and thinking it's a good idea. x

Did you "cheat" on your pre-op?
Peffermintchili replied to Dawn's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I really don't know if that would be allowed truth be told, but you could minimize the damage by maybe having wholewheat pasta or Dreamfields pasta (Atkins friendly) and have it with a low fat sauce. -
What to cook for a picky SO
Peffermintchili replied to FatJuicyMouse's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
You could cook a bunch of crap he likes and pre-freeze in portion size meals in tupperware. Do the same for yourself with your meal of choice. Then you both get what you want and you don't have to cook two meals every night - just reheat. -
Hi Lovelyone, Welcome. I'm not sure if this is normal - I'm not sleeved yet. However, you've come to the right place. What is it that you are feeling angry and frustrated about ? I'm sure others here have felt these things as well and will give you some insight. Hope otherwise, you're healthy and happy P

There are other people here who have posted about having a couple drinks on a night out after the surgery - proof there that eventually it is possible, although not right away. So don't to worry too much about that. Congrats on your new sleeve.

Infuriating Marie Claire blog about fat people on TV
Peffermintchili replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got a response back: "I really do not hate fat people, and really do have compassion for people who struggle with their weight and their body image--I've done both most of my life--even if I also think obesity is a serious problem that people respond to in ways that seem strange to me. I'm really sorry my post has been so blown out of proportion, and I feel really really so bad that I've hurt the feelings of so many people. Believe it or not, I never intended to that." Apparently she is still in denial about the consequences of her comments. I guess she doesn't understand still. I like how she refers to overweight people as fat people. How classy. What a bitch... -

The Husband
Peffermintchili replied to BZButterfly79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even if you lose the weight the "normal way" you're still going to have flabby bits. It's cant be avoided - rapid or slow it's gonna happen somewhere on some part of your body. Sounds like your husband has control issues. It's easy now to put you down and tell you "how it is" but he knows damn well once you're a six 6 and a bag of tricks you are more likely to drop him like a 200 pound brick. The jealousy issues have already started sister. Be strong x -
cheating on pre-opt diet
Peffermintchili replied to ALOCO53's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think the pre-op diet actually shrinks the liver - I think it just makes it less fatty and easier to handle by the surgeon. I've done a liquid diet before it's hard and I really sympathize - but hang in there - You are worth it x -
Some of the reading I've been doing about diet after the sleeve puts carb consumption at 10 - 20% daily . For the amount of calories you took in the carb consumption isn't bad. But if your daily intake is suppose to be between 600 - 800 calories daily in the first six months I can see why you are concerned. I think it's important to remember as well not all carbs are evil. Fruit, veg, beans, whole grains - are healthy. White brean, white rice, white sugar, etc... are evil.

Pros and Cons of the Sleeve Procedure
Peffermintchili replied to Anniep5029's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had the surgery yet, but here will be my pros: 1) Not losing my balance and having embarassing moments in public ( I slipped and fell at a bowling alley on Saturday and I thought I was going to shrink into nothingness - if my husband wasn't there I think people would of just kept on pretending I didn't exist and left me there - it was depressing). 2) Fitting into an airplane seat comfortably without squishing the poor soul next to me - I haven't flown in a plane since 2007 and I really miss my family in the states. Part of me not going is the weight issue. 10 hours with those handles digging into me and I've got bruises and cant feel my legs anymore. 3) being normal. 4) Feeling alive and part of the world again. I just feel so lost like I don't belong. I'm a tough cookie but lately my confidence is at an all time low. 5) feeling like a woman again and not a fat slob. 6) Not dying of obesity related illness. 7) Sharing my experience with people on here to give them hope in the same way that the people who have already had this surgery and are giving me hope every day. Potential Cons: Not eating to deal with emotions. -
YAY congrats Lowcho

MY FIRST POST
Peffermintchili replied to YORKSHIRE GIRL ANGE's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Angela, Congrats hon that's awesome news I'm so happy for you :-) !!! I'm not sure which PCT I fall under yet, but my BMI is 56 ( I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes either) and I know the minimum is 50. I was told I would likely have mine at the LGI in the city centre. How long as this taken you so far ? I've just started. If you could tell me what it's been like for you I would really appreciate it. I'm waiting for my appointment with a nutritionist right now. You've given me hope x -
