    Suddenly Single

Doll - you crack me up! I always love reading your posts. I am so glad that everything is going well for you. I am most happy that your son seems to be adjusting well. That has to be a load off your mind. You seem to be truly happy! I can tell from the way you are really looking forward to things in your life. I love KORN (yes, even old people like me enjoy their music) and I'll bet you look HOT for that concert. Good luck with the motorcycle thing. I can totally see you on a Harley, all gothed out riding down the street in a leather bustier! Keep fighting the good fight!

    Beer?!

For whatever reason, I can drink beer, no problem, but diet soda (out of the can or bottle) HURTS!! I have to pour it over ice and stir it around to get rid of most of the fizzies. Only then I can drink it without pain. For the most part - it's just not worth the pain and hassle.

    Beer?!

I drink beer. Like Ben's mum, I don't usually finish it. I find that draft beer is much easier to drink than out of a bottle. I drink them slowly and also never drink beer with or just after eating - OUCH! Being 3 weeks out, since you don't have a fill, you might not have much problem yet. Just take it slowly, and if anything starts to feel uncomfortable, stop. My 2 cents worth.

Find out what song was #1 on your D.O.B.

Way Cool!! The #1 song on the day I was born was "Surf City" by Jan and Dean. I've always loved that song. Now I know why.

    *Sweet Story*

Paula - Tell your son that 'nerds' rule the earth. Have you ever been to a Northwestern University sporting event? (most people haven't). They are a wonderful academic institution, with really terrible sports teams. As they are getting whipped by the opposing team, all the students sitting in the Northwestern stands start to chant "That's All Right That's OK We're going to be your boss someday!!!" Over and over again. It's hilarious and I love it.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Dena - Maybe my math is off, but you've been banded around 20 weeks now, right? And you've lost 35 pounds. That's EXACTLY where you're supposed to be, at 1-2 pounds lost per week. Believe it or not, you're not a slow loser!! Remember this - you've lost in 20 weeks what it took me 15 MONTHS to lose. And don't compare yourself to your husband. That's just asking for trouble. Men always lose faster than women. They don't have estrogen holding on to their wight for them. It's not fair, but it's true. Keep up the good work.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Tigress - anyone who has lost 95 to 100 pounds with the band is not a slow loser!! Wow - congratultions on your remarkable loss! That's wonderful. All of us who post regularly to this thread are stuggling with less than a 50 pound loss. (We're all very jealous of you!!) :welldone2: Congrats again.

What am I missing? Why are ppl leaving?

Hey - not to sound totally stupid and ignorant here - but is there really an 'ignore' feature and I missed it? Or are you just saying to generally avoid those threads and posts that iritate you by 'ignoring' them?

    Great News!

I agree with going to the tailor. I've done that through out my weight loss process. If you have anything that is appropriate for work, but just too big, find a tailor. Then those clothes will fit like a glove. Congratulations on the new job!!! (isn't it great?)

from the dept of "if it's not one thing...."

Holy Cow! I go away for a week and all heck breaks loose around here. I'm glad the cellulitis is on the mend. I know how serious that can be. I hope you don't lose your skin graft. That sounds painful and icky. WHat's the latest on the Cushings?

    Major Nordstrom NSV

The good news - wait the GREAT news- everything in the 'womens' department (aka the big girl section) is now officially too big for me. I have a big presentation in front of the president of my company coming up and needed something 'professional' to wear. I went to Nordstroms, where there is a very helpful sales lady who I love, and started trying on clothes. The smallest size they carry in the women's dept is a 14W. Everything I tried was too big. We called in the alterations lady. She starts pinning, and pinning and pinning and she finally says - "what I've taken-in here is a whole size. Did you try the other department?" Well, no, I didn't try the other department - I haven't been able to fit anything there in years. The helpful sales lady and I trek downstairs to try on 'regular' sized clothes. Waddaya know? Most of them fit! There are still some pants where I need a 14 w, and will have to have them altered down , and jackets are still a problem (I have lunch lady upper arms), but, most everything FIT! Wow - I can't hardly believe it. I'm too small!!
