    Psychological Evaluation?

My psych exam was 3 hours. I had to take a personality test, an IQ test and talk with the psych. He asked questions about my weight history, what I've done to try to loss weight, my sleep habits and if I will have people to support me after the surgery. I think the main reason for the exam is to see if you are doing this for yourself and your health. I thought it was pretty interesting, I thought it was a little strange for the IQ test but I've always wanted to take one anyway. Don't be nervous though, just remember they are there to help you.
  2. Good luck tomorrow! How exciting! Keep us updated :)

  3. Hey thanks everyone! I guess i asked that since I'm about 3 weeks pre op and just thinking this is probably my last pizza I'll have. It's okay though I'm excited and so ready!!

    Where are my Flirty Thirties?

I'm 32 also, class of 96 baby!! I miss my doc martins, my Green Day & Bush t-shirts and pink stripes in my hair! lol
  5. I am the same way! Which is why I hate getting my picture taken, because that's when I can see just how huge I am. Especially when I'm standing next to other people who are a normal size. Or I'll be at work feeling good thinking that I look good today then I see myself in the mirrror and think OMG I lookso fat and horrible. I cannot WAIT to actually look like what my brain thinks I look like. Sometimes when I'm out with my mom, I'll be like "Mom, am I as huge as that girl?" because I want to know how others see me. I'm getting sleeved Nov 16th and when it all was approved and finally became a reality I was SO nervous and having second thoughts but now that I've got it thru my head that YES it's going to hurt, and YES it's going to change my life, I'm cool with that. Now I can just concentrate on preparing myself and quit stressing myself. I am going to take my before pics next week, not really looking forward to it but I know I will want to see the changes that have happened in the next few months. And I always love looking at other peoples b/a pics.

    Help! What's your interpretation..

Hey guys I was approved today!! Hoooraaaay! Surgery date 11/16/10 Thanks Tiffy for giving me an idea for the letter, I really think that helped! Thank u everyone!~~
  11. Here's a little background first. I've been thru the seminar and 1st appt with my surgeon. I have my Psych eval, Nutrition eval & PCP appt within the next two weeks. And I have BCBS of GA. Ok, I need some help. It looks like I meet all of the criteria to have insurance cover my surgery but what does this mean?... "The patient must have actively participated in non-surgical methods of weight reduction; these efforts must be fully appraised by the physician requesting authorization for surgery" To me that means my surgeon, not my PCP, but when I went to my 1st appt the lady who handles ins said that probably means I need to have a history of physician supervised weight loss attempt from my PCP. Now I'm stressing because I don't have that... oh boy.
  12. Hello everyone! Just wondering if there are any other lacto-vegetarians out there? And what kind of foods are you eating post-op?
  13. I've got my date! Yeaaa! 11/30/10

  15. Hi Everyone! I have all of the needed paperwork sent to the Surgeons office and hopefully they will sumbit it this week. The coordinator is going to email me when she sends it out. My Ins (BCBS GA) said they have 21 days to respond with an answer but I've read about so many people getting their answer within a week or less! Just wondering if this common? If not, how long was it until you got your approval/denial? I'm soooo excited, nervous, scared and happy!
  16. My NUT said the same thing about the protein shots. Made me sick just thinking about it! Whey is much better. My personal fav it EAS Carb Advantage, they don't leave that nasty protein aftertaste, They actaully taste good! ~~~ Submitting paperwork to ins this week!!! Wish me luck! ~

  18. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any experience with BCBS of Georgia insurance? I've been to the seminar and my first DR appt is on the 13th.. I'm SO nervous. I've called my ins and they do cover WLS but still consider the sleeve as experimental. I thought I wanted the band until I researched more and found that the sleeve is perfect for me! ANY info about BCBS GA will be helpful. Thanks! Tom Petty says it best... THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART!!

    Help! What's your interpretation..

Thanks everyone for your input! I'll keep you all posted!
  22. For me I was concidering the lap band, but everything I've read about the problems and sooo may followup visits. I decided it would be the wrong choice for me. The sleeve is the best fit for me. I've been on this site everyday for the past month and it's been so much help and everyone here is so honest. So keep reading these posts. Good luck in whatever you decide. :001_tongue: Kelli

Did anyone get their hair back?

I also have PCOS and have had hairloss really bad. My dermatoligist prescribed Finasteride (generic Propecia). You can't use this or even touch the pills if you plan on becoming pregnant. This keeps the hair from falling out. Then he told me to use Rogain for men once a day, or the Rogain for women 2x a day. This will make the hair grow. I choose to use the men's once a day and I put it on before I go to bed. If I put it on after I wash my hair in the mornings my hair tends to look dirty. I have noticed that it helps when I make sure I take the pill and spray the Rogain everyday. --Kelli
