    throat gurgles

Hi, I'm just over 10 months out and I still get the loud gurgles. I also get the full feeling in my throat if I eat too much sometimes it's reallllly painful. I've learned now to stop before it gets to that point because that last bite no matter how good it is, is not worth that 30 minutes of pain. I usually get a hiccup and that's my signal that I'm full. It'll take some time to get used to all the signs of when to stop eating/drinking..
  6. Well... I have to have my Gallbladder removed on Tuesday.. It's full of stones and is only functioning @ 30%. I have a constant pain on the right side under my rib cage. Sometimes when I eat I get sharp, stabbing pain.. So I'll finally give in. Did it hurt as much as the sleeve? Is it pretty much the same as the sleeve? Just going home earlier? Are there certain foods you can't eat anymore? If so, why? I've a vegetarian so I get A LOT of my Protein from cheese... will that be a problem? Any any other tidbits you would like to share... Thank You!!! -Kelli
  7. Ugh, pancreatitis is the worst pain ever! I had that 2 weeks after my sleeve surgery and spent 10 days in the hospital. I had stomach pains as well and my GI dr did an Upper GI and everything was normal there. So as far as controling the pain before my gall bladder surgery I took vicoden when it got real bad. It sucks because I know the pain pills have slowed down my weight loss. So hopefully now that my gall bladder is gone and I won't have to take those pills anymore I'll see more loss. For me it was anything I ate gave me pain regardless if it was full or fat, fried, spicey or perfectly healthy... everything made me hurt. My pain was directly under my ribcage on the right side.. and yep hurt when I had my bra on too. Felt like a baseball under my ribs. I'm only 3 days out from surgery so I really haven't felt much better at this point. And I really haven't eaten much since I'm scared it's going to hurt. I hope they get you in to surgery soon! My DR had told me that if it wasn't removed there was a chance that a stone could get in the bile duct and actually cause perminant damage and lifelong pancreas pain. That is what made me decide I really had no choice and it needed to be done. (I have a blood clotting disorder which is why I was putting it off for so long.) Good Luck!! and get that gall bladder out soon!
  8. I've heard about that med from reading posts on this site.. I had asked my surgeon about them before I was sleeved and he said he doesn't recommend it for his patients because the risks are bad for the liver (I think it was liver he said). I wish now though that I just would have had him take it out during my sleeve surgery. The other 2 surgeons in his office always take them out with every WLS... But anyway.. I have read about people who do take those pills and still end up having to have it removed. I would just look into the side effects and see if they are worth it. It's easier to remove the gall bladder than deal with liver problems.

  12. Wow! I remember when I found this site last year you had just had your surgery, so I'd always watch your posts and progess... I just looked at your pics and wow you've done great! Lookin good girl, congrats! :) And good luck with your upcoming gall bladder surgery.

  13. I remember having those sharp stabbing back pains a few weeks after surgery and for me it never got bad enough to go to the Dr about it... I just assumed it was kidney pain because I was having a really hard time getting all of my fluids in. If it gets real bad definatly at least call your Dr to see if he thinks you should come in. My gallbladder pains are in the front, right side, right under my rib cage. Now I have read that some people get the back pains as well when they have gb problems. My dr ordered a ultrasound to see if there were stones and a HIDA scan to determine the function %. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
  14. Gall Bladder surgery tuesday... ;( i'm really sared..

  15. Hi :) You've definatly come to the right place if you want to learn more about the sleeve. It helped me make my decision when I was thinking about LB or sleeve. I'm 10 months out today and down 94 lbs from my highest weight. I LOVE my sleeve. :-)

  16. Thanks for your input everyone! Mom has decied to get it done in Mexico with dr. Ponce de leon.. Her cost is going to be $4500 and she already has her date set, Oct 14 2011!! I'm so happy for her (but nervous too). I've read many stories of everyones experience and while it is scary to think of getting surgery done in MX , I think everything will be just fine.

  18. Yeaaa!! Good Luck! My mom is your age and is thinking about going to Mex for the surgery. Please let us know how your experience is! Congrats, and welcome to the "losers bench" ~Kelli
  19. I had 3 clots after my surgery in my mesinteric veins. The doctors first thought it was due to the bc pill but then later after many tests they found out I have antiphospholipid anitbody syndrom. I'm not allowed any hormons so I'm going to go with the copper iud called Paragard. There are not many options for hormone free bc, unfortunatly.
  20. Hi Dee Dee, I'm glad you decided to share your story. The support and all the information you get from this site is so helpful! Some other people use other ones, I use tickerfactory.com for my weight loss ticker. Just go there to set up login/password and you chose your style of ticker and what you want it to display (lbs lost, bmi, waist size... etc.) Then once you creat it copy and paste the code it gives you and put it on your profile by going to... -My settings -Click on "profile" tab -Change signature Then paste the link from tickerfactory in the edit signature box. (they usually have 2 links to pick from, just chose one link an if it doesnt' work, try the other link. You can also type any information like dates, starting weight, ect. If you want. -Then click "save changes" When you want to change your ticker just go back to you tickerfactory site and log in, once you make changes in there and press save, the next time you go to your profile it shoud be there, if not try refreashing you page. Does all that make sense? I'm half asleep right now! it's like 335am.... lol Good Luck on your BIG day!!!!!!!!!! You can do it, just remember walk, walk, walk. ALOT, and drink drink drink! For me warn mint tea, and unjury chicken Soup and popscicles and very mportant, Proteins, and taking your Vitamins.. I couldn't take mine until about 4 week out because the made me puke and hurt to swallow Please keep us updated!! Good Luck!! Smile
