Please Help....extreme bagging under eyes
PamRN replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Is it time or near your time of the month? That can bring it on, as can stress, and sluggish digestion. The liver can also be the culprit. Here are some internet suggestions for under eye bags: Try to avoid stress and get extra rest, especially during menstrual discomfort. Drink plenty of warm Water. Avoid ice cold and carbonated drinks. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine and alcohol. Add coconuts, raisins, papaya and sweet juicy fruits to your diet. Only take a moderate amount of sugar. (or use agave nectar) Avoid red meat and heavy fried foods. Avoid drinking fluids before bed. Favor only natural beauty products Do not smoke, and avoid second hand smoke. Get plenty of sleep. Place a washcloth dipped in warm water over your eyes for 5 minutes once or twice daily. Make sure you are laughing every day it gives excersize to facial muscles. For puffy and swollen eyes, make facial steam or facial wash with warm, salty water. For tired eyes use silk eye pillow. For inflamed baggy eyes soak cotton pads in cold milk with rose water, or cucumber slices or cool tea bags placed over closed eyes for five to ten minutes. -
So I went on a Gastric bypass site and...

RNY folks lose a section of the intestine that absorbs fat, calories, and unfortunately, Vitamins. That's why they have to lifelong supplement. The "window of weight loss" for them describes the 18 months to 2 years after surgery. After this time they usually stop losing, and many regain because the body compensates for the missing intestine by learning to reabsorb fat and calories, but not vitamins. The Pouch can and does stretch over time, so they can eat more, and absorb more fat and calories. This doesn't change for bandsters in that we can get a tighter fill if need be, and lose again. We don't lose any absorption ability, just intake ability, so there's little need for supplementation if we eat right. -
Up til about a month ago, I would receive emails when posts I participated in were responded to, but now I don't get them anymore. I checked my settings and it looks like I'm still set up to get emails instantly, but don't get any at all. Has there been an LBT change in policy or am I doing something to cause this? Just wondering if anyone else is having this?

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Children in pain or suffering breaks my heart. I pray that your son has a successful surgery, and rapid recovery. God will guide your surgeon's hands. I do hope they can do it rectally, so he can bounce back quickly. BTW: I agree with Paula; Boudreaux's is VERY good stuff, and it's not that expensive. Our tiny local market, and drugstore even carry it because so many people around here use it. Walmart in the next town carries it too.

I thought it was cool, in a salvator dali kind of way

You're right it isn't easy with the band. Because we are a society that celebrates and or commiserates with food, being unable to eat more than a bite or two when restriction is high is disappointing. Restriction is high for me when I'm up too late, up too early, sick, stressed, or excited. Celebration preparation usually increases stress and excitement...go figure. I lost a few pounds over the christmas season last year though, instead of gaining. I go up and down the weight scale with in 3-4 pounds until I'm down another, then up, then down another. I am after a year losing very slowly now, but still slowly losing. I can generally eat most band friendly foods. I just have to take it slow, and have a little at a time so, over time I get enough. I am down from a size 24 to some damned cute size 14's that I can buy anywhere. My underwear are no longer support panties, but low rise bikini's. TMI? I would absolutely do this again. Heaven forbid I should end up with complications down the road, but even with... after healing... I'll do it again. I thank god daily for giving me this chance to live life feeling great again.

I love that, thanks for sharing it.

Better do the tootsie roll thing at quitting time... 5 second rule and all that... they also make mouse droplet looking cake sprinkles. Make the sign, then buy an air horn... if she pops open the door with food in hand anyway... well you get the picture. I hope you have a camera, cuz we want the picture too!!

She is an absolutely gorgeous little girl, looks DO run in that family don't they? She looks really happy, and her smile shows a confidence she must've learned from her ultra cool Auntie De! I have an ultra cool Auntie, who lives many many miles away from me too, and ya know, though we mostly communicate via email and pics, when we do talk, it's like no time has passed at all. We're as close as ever despite the distance. She is as lucky to have you, as you feel to have her, that's something that can last forever...despite distance.

I was very sore there, I believe for me it was where they stitched my port to the abdominal wall (on the inside) I had one stitch that hurt sharply and after a couple of weeks, popped itself loose (that hurt) but at the same time, felt immediately better. Is there any redness to the area, warmth/hot to the touch, or swelling? Have you had any fever? Those are all signs of infection and should be called to your doc ASAP. I agree with the others that if nothing else, a call to your doc might give you piece of mind.

I have lots of family in the naples and nokomis areas. My prayers are with you all. Be safe!

If he believes that the excess skin overlap (the sag) puts you at significant health risk related to potential for/or history of infection related to yeast growth etc, you could possibly get some coverage for the lift part. I can't imagine the "prosthesis" getting paid for, but stranger things have happened! I used to work for a major national health insurance company as a claims examiner. I used to be so dumbfounded by the much needed things we didn't pay, yet the odd ball things we did cover... it's all in the wording that's for sure!
-
LMAO! I can SOOO see that happening here!
-
WOW! You two look drop dead gorgeous! Isn't it great to be a woman, and finally feel like it again?

Delarla:"The truth is I woke up with scars. I have no memory. One day it was May, then I woke up in October with tube sticking out of my belly." When that happened to my friend Cartman, an antenna came out his a$$! <sniff...SNIFFFFF> does anyone else smell smoke? Moon? Are you still wearing the colander on your head? Just thought I should warn you... There's an ORANGE price sticker on the bottom!

open some nasty cheap catfood, cook it in the microwave, then scrape it on top of the trash closest to her... tell her chris cooked and you had to bring it to work, but it's so bad you just can't eat it... shhhh don't tell him 'k?
-
hey moon... getting anything? (handing up the metal colander...) Try this!

I read Dr Phils weight loss books and one of the rules for creating a "fail safe environment" was to get rid of all food scented candles, room sprays, potpourri's etc... I buy the rain scents or fresh linen scents and love those, but still ate half a pan of brownies monday when struck by pms... go figure.
