An NSV worthy of a post.

Congrats! NSV are sometimes better than scale victories!

    time off of work?

I only took 6 days off work, but I kind of regretted that- it would have been nice to have a few more days of being home in my pj's =)

    Reality Check

There will be a next time Just won't be for a while LOL- I had my sleeve on 9/7 and can eat just about anything now, just only a few bites- I love it! Congrats, and wish you well!
  10. Hey there! I'm not sure if you got your surgery yet, but I hope all is well with you!

    My Appeal worked!!!!!!!

So so happy for you! Dr Davidson did my sleeve too, it will be 4 weeks ago this coming Tuesday. His staff is awesome, and the Nurse practitioner there Sandy is really great and gives you her personal cell # which she answers anytime except between midnight and 5 am- and she encourages you to call with any question or problem. On top of that, we live literally 30 minutes from each other! After your surgery is done and you can eat again we can go to lunch and split a kids meal LOL. Congrats!
  12. My doctor actually encourages me to weight daily- he said that research shows that people who weigh daily are more successful with losing weight, then maintaining that weight loss than people who dont weigh daily- he thinks it makes us more accountable.

    When doctor says rest.. REST

These are wise words! I went back to work only 6 days after surgery, and it was way too soon! I'm 2 and a half weeks out now, and starting to feel more normal, but if you can stay home and rest you absolutely should!
  14. So inspiring! This also brought tears to my eyes, as I could feel the joy and triumph in your words. Congrats!

    Scale victory... Booya!

Congrats! Woop woop....hope to be doing the happy dance with you someday :w00t:
  16. I had my surgery on a Tuesday, and went back to work the next Monday- it wasn't easy, but I made it through....I basically sit a computer all day though, so if you do something more strenuous, I would definitely take maybe 10 days at least. I am 12 days out right now, and feeling pretty good. Good luck on your surgery!

    Potato soup for full liquids

I made this recipe tonight....sooooo yummy!
  18. Hi Julie- so glad to hear you are feeling better! I am a little over a week out and am just now starting to feel pretty good too...I think we will live LOL...let the weight loss begin!
  19. Hope you are doing well! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

    Decisions, decisions

Congrats on your decision! I think I would at least try to get your insurance to pay for it, the worst that could happen is that you would then have to go private pay if it fell through- my insurance specifically excluded any type of bariatric surgery, so I had to pay out of pocket. I am 6 days out now, and starting to feel better and so happy I went ahead with it! Good luck with whichever way you decide to go!
  21. I actually went back to work today, and that wasn't such a good idea LOL, but somehow I made it through. I am feeling a lot better- I am still on clear liquids, but hopefully get to start full liquids tomorrow...cant wait to have a least some soup! I weighed, and I'm down 21 pounds total, but I lost 11 preop. Exciting! Talk to ya soon!

  22. So glad you made it through safely and are on the mend! I had constant headaches for the first 2-3 days, not sure if it was the anesthesia or what, but it finally went away. I am on day 6 today, and went back to work ...that was not such a good idea, but somehow I made it through. Keep me posted on how you are doing...maybe once we can actually have real food again we could meet for lunch and split a kids meal LOL :)

  23. We had our sleeves done on the same day, and I'm just popping by to say hi and hope you are doing well!

  24. Well said! Except for hopefully now she (and we all ) can wear "little girl panties":001_tt2:
  25. Hope you are doing well! Each day is getting a little better for me :)
