  2. #:-s Just checking back into this website I have not had my surgery but I did get to tour the hospital last month. I asked for an appointment on a date the dr was available to meet with me. Very clean place. I could see people spot cleaning everything: floor, walls, everything. I was there for about 15 mins. I got to meet one of the dr's coordinators, Bebe. She showed me the rooms, the waiting room, the cafeteria... The hospital is not too big but it does have all the necessary in case of any emergency. Actually, I was told this is a hospital specializing in kidney transplant, and they even have dialysis patients coming from the US. I did meet Dr Rodriguez. He has the bedside manners I want in a doctor, so I'm definitely considering him for my procedure. I still have questions and some doubts about the procedure itself, but I will keep in touch with the dr's office. I will let you know what happens next:wink0: Zoyla F.

    New to VST

Hi David! I'm also new to this site (just got here a week ago). I will also be scheduling my VSG with Dr Rodriguez, but at the Tijuana facility, in Hospital INT. I have a few friends who have gone to him and are very happy with the whole experience. My package includes 1 night in the hospital and 1 in hotel in Tijuana. All dr's fee (anesthesiologist, in-hospital medications, hospital stay, 24 hr nurse), etc. Everythign for $6200!!!!. I got this deal with Belite Weight and my coordinator Sylvia. She has been great to work with:). I'm planning for Sept-Oct to have it done. I'm 254 lbs and this is the heaviest I've been. My knees hurt sooooo bad. I've had a back problem for about 10 years now and this weight is killing me. Fortunately I do not have diabetes (yet), nor major health issues, so I guess I better do this fast before is too late:) Keep us posted on your progress, as I will keep you about mine:) Take care, Zoyla:)
  4. I have relatives in Tijuana, so I travel there quite often. I dont know why people are so scared to go to Mexico. Tijuana is just as dangerous or as safe as any other city in the world. Besides, Dr Rodriguez, for what my friends have told me, has a whole team to take care of his patients: he has a driver who picks you up in San Diego and drives you all the way to the hospital in a very nice, comfortable van. The hospital is located in the best area of Tijuana, where all the restaurants and medical offices are, and other major hospitals are also located in the area. Hotels very close by. I've been in Tijuana many times and I have never seen gunmen standing in each corner. As the time approaches me to have surgery, I'm definitely considering Tijuana and Dr Rodriguez.

    Dr.Rodriguez- Juarez ,Mexico??

Totally agree with you Wannabeslim:) His price is one of the most affordable, but his reputation is way higher than his price:thumbup:.
  6. Hi Scorch:) Im new here but have also been researching Mexico for my plication surgery. So far, Dr Rodriguez seems to be my No.1 choice. I have a few friends and acquaintances that have gone to him thru BeLiteWeight and are very happy with his services and with his coordinators. Not sure yet if I will be paying outta pocket or financing, but he also offers financing thru his coordinators (not totally sure I'm right about this, but this is what I understand). To me its more about the knowledge of the dr and his experience, than about price. Obviously, if I get a good deal, it will also be an important factor to make my choice, but so far Dr Rodriguez's experience is like the most important for me. I will try to tour the hospital he uses in Tijuana, Mexico, the INT I think is called. I also want to make sure the premises in which I will have surgery and recover are hygienic, sanitized, etc... Will continue to post here about my experience and my research. Good luck, Zoyla.
  7. Hi. My name is Zoyla Faquir and I have been researching wide and thick for the right doctor. I've researched specially in Mexico since the surgery seems to be more affordable there. Up to now, I think the best choice for me will be Dr Rodriguez in Star Medica Hospital in Juarez, MX. However, I plan to have surgery closer to home, at the INT hospital in Tijuana. I will be having the plication with Dr Rodriguez. So far, I think Dr Rodriguez is very knowledgeable in this procedure. I have a few acquaintances who've had WLS with this doctor and they are very happy with their results and the whole experience. Some of them have gone thru BeLiteWeight, and have given me also good reviews about this company. Since I live in So. Cal, I will try to get a tour through the hospital. I'd like to check for myself the facilities, staff, etc.' Ok guys, I will keep you posted. I'm thinking to have my surgery done sometime between September and Oct this year, so, we'll see... xoxoxo, Newcomer Zoyla:thumbup:
