Hi again everyone. I haven't posted in a long time. Thought i could do this on my own. But I'm soooo glad i can come back here for support. I had gotten pretty discourage because i wasn't dropping 15lbs/month like March and April. Just reading how alot of you are feeling the same way has let me know that I am not alone. I have continued my exercise but have slacked off alot with the diet. I eat bread sometimes now. I'm so glad I came on and read July posts. I can keep up with my 17 year old d/d on the tennis courts for an hour now. HA. Down 50 lbs but it's so S L O W anymore.

Heya Marchies, Getting my first fill today so last night I went completely off my diet and ate a hamburger! I don't even like them-but I had to be defiant. And 5 sugar free cookies. And still didn't go over 950 calories And I am not exercising today. I think I'm treating myself and actually all I feel is guilt. Guess I'm getting trained into this new Healthy Lifestyle. Hope y'all have a healthy day.

I can see you just had your surgury and have been on this forum for a year. You obviously have learned alot prior to getting banded. 10 days out and you are doing the exercise and water (I did too) Good for you:clap2: . You are getting your first fill pretty early compared to the rest of us? Keep up the good work.

Nice to see new names: Thickchicktexas, My5grlz,Snowangel, KuebulJ, - For those of you not losing I can relate. After a few weeks when that scale wasn't moving anymore and I thought I was doing everything right--I buckled down. For more that a week I've been doing 800cals/40 min Cardio + other stuff and i was losing a pound a Day. Now guess what, The scale has not moved in the last 2 days. What I have learned is how to eat better, count calories and protein, stay away from sugar, bread and all drinks but water and sometimes for the sugar Jones-Crystal Lite. I come on this site for info and encouragement and feel the responsibilty to keep on track like most of these bandsters--Just Keep Doing the Right Thing. TammyJ: sounds like the warm stuff was going down a little smoother that the cold stuff. Get my fill on Thurs so that's good to know.

What a happy sounding group today:D . Is it because it's spring?...Is it because we are not getting sick anymore?...OR is it because..........WE ARE LOSING WEIGHT:clap2: . that's the one tu tammyj for the incentives. I wish I knew how to cut and paste. Duh:embarassed: . I even did one of those tickers but can't figure out how to move it. Oh well. 45 min cardio 10 stretching 06 crunches. 31 LBS-see ya. Good Day Y'all--Chris

DEMSVMEJM: All that heavy duty work in one day!! If you go over to Fitday.com you will see that you burned about 9,000,000 calories:biggrin1: I also see that you are nicotine free? I didn't do it. I spoke with Forked-tongue to the med. folks. Good for you.

Hey All. I just got that Marching band. Duh. Very cute. Well, we will have 31 days to use Marching in May and then time to change it again. "Marching into Bikinis":embarassed: "The Marching Bandsters":biggrin1: "Marching to Size 8";) Although 12 is fine with me. I was an 8 when I was 8. Reprogrammed my daughters old I POD yesterday, so I was rocking on the eleptical this morning. TammyJ: I did 4 mini crunches this morn. One more each day. It would not be on my "TO DO" list, if I didn't see it here.

NURSEAMY; You had a fill 3 weeks ago?? WOW. You'll be getting your second fill when most of us seem to getting our FIRST FILL. I Guess you shall be our guru. Down to 229 this AM. I was 236LBS.. only 8 Days ago. So it seems my 800 calories/day was paying off. That FITDAY.COM and journaling my calories seems to hold me accountable. Kyethra; My mini goal is also 220 by 5/20--family function. Hope ya'll have a lovely low-cal day.

SOMETHING CRUNCHY? :hungry: I remember that feeling. A peeled apple was the trick for me. Not only did it help with that CRUNCH CRUNCH desire, it also helped with the sweets craving. I had some Golden Apples-they were very sweet. I didn't want to TEST eating the skin so the deer benefited from that. Going to NY huh? I'm in NY--I'll see if I can figure out how to send a private message to ya.

TammyJ: I recall something about 6 wks. I'm so focused on the cardio and stretching right now that I don't want to do too much on the crunches till I see the Dr. next week. I did do the MINI's today.

Intro and question...Rules
guns n roses replied to Careypea's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Careypea, you've come to the right place. Most of your questions will be answered if you go to the FAQ area of this site. It helped me alot. I still haven't found the rules, I just try to follow the lead of the vetern bandsters. My DH (dear husband) used to tell me I was beautiful too. I knew better. I was 160 when he married me and 3 years I thought pregnancy was a license to eat. It got progressively worse for the next 17 yrs. I was so psyched when I got my surgery date that I started (only 2 wks prior) working out, drinking lots of water and cutting down on sweets. It made resuming these healthy choices easier to resume after surgury. Make sure your pantry is full of the things you will need after surgery-Before surgery. Keep reading . Knowledge is powerful. -
The gas is VERY common. Movement, Gas -X, and Beano seem to be the consensus for the solution to the problem. If you go back to FAQ on the forum site you may find even more solutions. It seems most newcomers questions are responded to there. Congrats on the wgt. loss. :clap2: Keep up the good work. You may also want to look for the forum for the APRIL BANDSTERS.

Calories: Cantelope 55; HB Egg 75, Asparagus 50, Salmon 200, Veggies 50, Slice of Pizza 300, Healthy Choice Ice cream Bar 90 Chewable vitamens 30 . Went a little over yesterday cause I was saving up for PIZZA. LOL. Lots of Water and Gum.:bored I am concerned that the Dr. will think I'm doing fine without a fill, but I know I cannot keep this pace up much longer. The fill and guns n roses and an upcoming family function(Mini - Goal) are keeping me on track. TammyJ: I DID 3 CRUNCHES TODAY !!!! I'm a little worried though, how do yours feeL???

About 1 week ago I noticed i wasn't losing any more, so I upped the work out from 30min to 45 min and eat only 800 Calories a day. I use FITDAY.COM and keep a journal my food intake. This past week I lost 5 LBS. FIRST FILL 5/3. I WAS LOSING 1 LB. A DAY!!!! For my birthday I got a scale. One of those evil things Hasn't been is this house for 15 Years!!!

Thank you for the welcome back!!! OH Juli--you seem to know what you are talking about with the GYM stuff. When I was in college I worked for a BIG NAME Gym J.L.L., so I thought i knew what I was talking about, but gym things have changed in 30 yrs!!!! I just use 4 LB wgts on my arms while I am doing 5-6 minutes on the bike. 10 days after being banded i got back on the treadmill and the elipitical machine. I started 2 wks pre - op. (PSYCHED) So now my work out each day is about 45 min. + 10 min of STRETCHING. GUNS N ROSES is my tag name cause it's their music that keeps me on those machines!!!!! " Paradise City " starts slow and gets faster and faster, just when I think I am losing steam. MY NAME IS CHRIS.

I don't know how to cut and paste:guess but I will take the challenge, especially since no one ever responds to anything I've written. I'm still trying to be a "PART OF " this group. I was pretty discouraged and felt left out.:cry :cry 18 30 Min Sessions 10 40 Min Sessions Everyday - 64-80 oz water. No crunches for a while-Not healed enough and not enough fat off yet.

How much weight did you lose on your pre-op diet?
guns n roses replied to pinkybar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have any restrictions prior to op. I was told to enjoy my last meal the night before! But.........I was so psyched when i got my op date that I started working out and consuming alot of water 2 weeks prior. I lost 6 LBS. LOL. -
Dear OH Juli-------------match. (Your closing query)

I go to a support group 1x/month and one gal had lost 93 lbs since July and her claim to fame is SHE HAS HAD NO FILLS! She's my idol. she is sticking to the diet and 30-45 min exercise everyday. Sounds like you did well at the restaurant. I too went out to dinner last nite and the worst thing I did was have a piece of a mozzerala stick---ONLY TO BE DEFIANT. :biggrin1: LOL keep up the good work. 24 lbs for me. (6 pre-Op) BAAAADDDD back pains. Anyone else

You look great!:clap2: . Looks like you are bringing out those old cloths you never thought you would wear again. I know I am. The 3x's fit better and some 2x's are fitting as well. I feel like I am 120 lbs and that I want to show off. are you exercising???
-
Helps me to read them. We MARCHIES IN APRIL need to stick together. We'll all be expierencing fills around the same time, problems with Drs, and stalemate wgt loss. We are our own Mini-support group who have learned from our WISE ELDERS and LOSERS (of weight).LOL

Mary, Try to remember (I NEED TO KEEP REMINDING MYSELF) that if you are working out - Muscle weighs more than fat. Hope I can come to your party too. One thing I keep in mind is all this good eating prior to the first fill IS GOING TO PAYOFF, IS GOING TO PAY OFF, IS GOING TO..............
