Hello, I have not posted on awhile. I had my surgery on August 25, 2004, and I have only lost 28 pounds I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I had my first fill about a month after and then my second fill around the first of December. My first fill really did not have that much of an effect on me, but this second has. I still feel a lot of restriction, like I know its working, but I just can't seem to loose anymore weight. I know that I have lost inches, because my clothes are really baggy, but the scale is just not reflecting any weight loss. I have been exercising atleast 3 times a week, and I still have not lost. I was wondering if anybody could give me some meal suggestions. I have been eating baked chicken and streamed veggies for lunch and super or switching one of them out with some noodle soup. And for breakast I am eating oatmeal. So I am jsut confused, I feel like the band is not working. Its weird though, because I feel so much restriction, like I cannot eat very much, so you would think that the weight would just be falling off, but its not! I was just needing some suggestions for food, or working out that anyone could pass my way ~

Will I be able to be pregnant with the band?

I also have PCOS, my doctor put me on Metformin, 2000 mg a day. My doctor never did any kind of exam vaginally. He just told me that there was an elevated amount of testosterone in my blood. So for about the past 7 months I have been taking the Metformin. I was just curious to know if you were taking it also. if not, what meds are you on for the PCOS? -
I have to agree with both of you. First of all, I do not think that I am getting enough water, I find myself forgetting to drink it during the day, to drink anything for that matter. I know that I need to change my water intake. I am going to try more protein and see where that gets me, as well as more days at the gym. Thanks so much for the positive feed back, I need it! I love this website, its so helpfull, and gives me so much inspiration reading everybody's success stories!

Well today I just had my first fill. They put 1.6 cc's of fluid in me. I am not sure if that is a big or small amount. I did not feel any tightness at all, so I guess thats good. I was just wondering, after a fill, how often to you have to wait til you can eat something? I am starved, and wanting to eat some soup, but I was not sure if that would be ok, so soon after my fill?

Yeah, I figured I would be ok, as long as I healed up and everything. Thanks so much for the info

Ok, Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but I was wondering, if tanning was ok after being banded. I know it sounds crazy, but i was curious. I did not know if it would mess up anything, like my port or anything?

I went and seen my doctor yesterday, for the first time since my surgery. It has now been 3 weeks and I am down 10 pounds. I was just wondering if this was about average? I am goign for my first fill in 2 weeks. I thought that was kind of soon, but I really have no idea?

Well, I had my surgery last Wednesday, the 25th. I am back at work today, feeling a little tired, but glad to be back here and out of the house. I had a question about drinking liquids. How long after surgery can I start drinking and not "sipping" my water? I am so thirsty, I feel like I never can get enough, cause I am just sipping. I want to drink it normal so bad, but I am scared that I will get sick. Please help!!

Hello, I just scheduled my surgery date for August the 25th. I am so excited, but very nervous. They put me on this protein drink, 3 times a day, and it is just awfull! I was wondering if there was any ideas out ther for what I could mix with it to make it go down better? So far I have mixed skim miilk and then another time I tried orange juice, but not really any luck with the taste. Also, I was jsut curious how long of a recovery time it took some people, like how many days was it before you were able to return back to work...Anybodys input would be very helpfull for me Any advise from any body who has just recenlty had the band, would be great too. Thanks

The only thing that scares me is the recovery time. On an average how long was ya'lls recovery period, like before you went back to work? A week sounds like a long time for me to be off, but is that really how long it takes? I told my work that I figured since I was having my surgery on a Wednesday, then I should be back in the office the following Monday. Ya'll think thats unrealistic? Thanks for all of the kind welcomes -
