mrlddst; I don't know if you read my posts earlier but I was sleeved on 7/26 and was going through the eXACT same thing you were!! My doctor gave me some Nexium that helped but the spasms will go away even when right now you think that you want to die they WILL. He aslo gave me Reglan that kinda of gets your motor running again as he put it. Sometimes the stomach is shocked and the bowels too.. I got the runs a little the next couple of days but it has stopped. I am 1 week and 1 day out and feel like a totally different person! Just keep drinking so you don't get dehydrated because that makes you feel bad too. Good luck!!

:confused1:Hello, Well, thanks for everyone kinds words I am feeling a little better today. Of course we had to go the ER last night to get me so fluids. I've been reading everything I can about complications and it seems I have them all!! What was I thinking that I would bouce back???? I am suppose to be on solid liquids for another week or anything that I can puree and get through a straw but no straw, you all know how that goes. I read someone today was having the same trouble as me and they were able to tolerate some scrambled eggs so I said what the hell give it a try! I can't drink anything without feeling nausea so how bad could it be? I did it and ate very very slowly a scramble egg chewed to nothing and had NO problems. Go figure??? Why do the liquids hurt so much??? So anyway tomorrow is 1 week and see the Doc on Tues. I am going to try to eat something again in a little while as through all this I have bouts of hunger/nausea/diarrhea. The docs gave me so meds to get my stomach going and it seemed to help but it also helped me get diarrhea. Anyone else having any problems like these?? please tell me its going to end!

Hello again, Well I am 4 days out of surgery on 7/26 and the gas seems to be getting better. I slept in the bed half the night last night so thats good. I am still having trouble swallowing anything! I had half a protein shake today and boy am I paying for it. Everything burns burns burns going down. When it gets to the bottom it burns more! Is anyone else experiencing this? Also I am having like reflux burns too! Please tell me that this is going to pass. Ican't believe that I read some people will be going back to work in 1 week. I still haven't let my kids come home yet they are visiting their grandparents indefinitely. Help any suggestions anyone??

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Traci and I just had gsv on July 26. This is 3 days out and I am feeling terrible from the gas pains. I can only get some cold cold water down at this point and its very slow. The gas has taken over. I cant understand how some people get it and some people don't. My roommate in the hospital had no gas at all!! How can that be??? I am in such bad pain its unbelieveable. I've had 2 childen with no drugs so I know I have a high tolerance but cmon already! The icing on the cake is after 2 weeks preop on liquids and not eating a morsel for the last 3 days or so I have gained 11lbs????? What is up with that??? I know that it must be the gas or fluids they pumped into you but really??? My husband is getting me somekind of pain meds that are under the tongue and or suppositories because the liquid tylenol they gave me makes me sicker and I want to vomit. Is anyone else experiencing such bad gas? I just texted him to bring me home some gas-x too. I will do anything to get some relief. I can't even think about drinking anything right now other than water.
