Need information/help Please!!!
Malik_MiasMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was sleeved on July 23rd at Vanderbilt. One week after being sleeved I found myself throwing up/dry heaving. i went back to Vandy and they checked my galll bladder. Gall Bladder had stones, gall bladder was then removed. Came home and started throwing up/dry heaving again. This has been going on since I was sleeved. My doctor told me yesterday that he has never seen this and he is at a loss for words. Uh excuse me I can't live like this. It can happen on somedays as many as 15 times a day to as little as 3 times a day. My Dr said he was going to call a surgeon in California who has perfomed over thousand of these surgeries until I hear from him I would like to know if anyone has heard of this or has it happened to. My doctor said he thought it sounded like stomach spasms that was making this happen but he is not for sure. Please if anyone knows of this happening to anyone else please get them to post on this blog. -

Thanks guys for your response. Yes I have already had a upper GI test done. It showed nothing wrong mechanically with my stomach and esophugus. Once again if anyone has any clues as to what I am going through please respoind. -
I am now three weeks post-op and I still have a "gripey" stomach. I don't have any pain in the incision area. However I cannot tolerate even drinking water. Anything I put in my mouth makes my tummy queasy and unsettling. Is this normal? I am not able to get all of my protein in nor my liquid. I am trying my best but my stomach is in knots at all times. I wake up and it feels good and as soon as I put something in my mouth I get that unsettling feeling in my tummy and it usually last all day long. I am starting to get nervous and I am thinking that this is what I am going to have to live with the rest of my life and it is putting me in a state of depression. Please someone tell me that this is normal and that it will go away. I have lost 30 pounds and I am happy about that however I can't take this "gripey" feeling forever.

"Gripey" stomach

Update, I called my Doctor at Vnderbilt and he said this was not normal to come to the ER at Vanderbilt. I went on Friday night they kept me the whole weekend trying to find out what was wrong with me. I started throwing up anything I put in my mouth. They did a dye test on me and they found out that I did not have a leak nor did I have an obstruction in my stomach. They really do not know what is wrong with me. They sent me home with phenegran and hydro codein pills. Has anyone else had this problem. They said if it is not better within one week they are going to do a scope. I feel terrible and just want some answers. -
I just got sleeved this past Friday at Vanderbilt in Nashville. I am healing well with the incisions not giving me any trouble. I am completely off of the pain meds. My one concern is that I cannot drink or eat anything. I am getting about 1 bottle of water mixed with protein of course in one day. I had three spoons of broth for lunch and 3 spoons of broth for DInner. My stomach feels like I just ate the biggest Thanksgiving Dinner ever. I feel bloated and stuffed. Is this a normal feeling and how do I get more water in my system.
