  1. Full liquids are liquids that are not clear, that you would be able to drink thru a straw. Not so thick that you could not drink thru a straw. (some doctors don't actually want you drinking thru a straw) Like milk, creamy Soups, tomato juice etc.

Do you really need to remember to eat?

Funny how we are all different. Taking this poll will in no way indicate how you will do. I still get normal hunger pangs and eat about every 3 hours. The saving grace here, for every one of us, is that whether we get hungry or not, we can only eat so much at one sitting. This this is the one common factor that will help us all realize our goals of becoming healthy again.

What is frustrating is getting no response or help from the forum/website support personnel.

    Advice Please

My surgeon had me on liquid diet for 20 days, post-op. 10 days clears, 10 days full liquids. Then 10 days mushies. I wouldn't worry at this point, your tummy is still healing.

    Which Calcium Citrate?

I went to Vitamin Cottage and bought chewable calcium citrate. Made by Rainbow Light, chocolate chewable, 3 wafers = 1000mg, I spread it out and eat one 3 x day. It was kinda pricey, but I do not want to cut up horse sized pills nor do the dissolving thing. BTW, Vitamin Cottage had several different brands of calicum citrate regular and chewable/dissolvable. (for those of you counting carbs, check the labels on chewables as some have sugars to make it palatable)

    DRY SKIN BRUSHING

I had this dry brushing done at a spa once, and it was nice. I wish I would do it on myself at home, but just get too lazy or involved in the regular routines of life.

    Need advice/opinions

I thought there was a couple of docs up in San Fran, that had tons of experience? Was it Dr. Jossart, who is on this board? BTW, I had a great experience in Mexicali.

  11. Hi Sleeve! I looked at every single option in my profile and in my settings and there is no place to change 'converted' information. The term 'converted information' to me indicates they didn't create a category for it in the new design. This issue probably requires a written note to Alex on the forum.

    Nightline story on VSG tonight.

Just got done reading the article at the above link. Peoples comments on the story are mostly negative, ignorant about obesity, and one size fits all opinion...

    Very hungry!!!!

Are you taking a PPI? Acid reflux can feel like hunger, and I am suffering from inappropriate hunger too. My PPI only helps alittle, I am now on a quest to figure out how much my PPI is helping and possibly switching meds. Its a frustrating, mysterious journey.
  17. 8 weeks out, down 24lbs! Yay, I'm very happy with my progress

  18. There's tons of info on Dr. Aceves here on VST. You should search on his name and get all sorts of info. Personally, in my research of him, I couldn't find anything negative about him. I am completely satisfied with my experience in Mexicali.

    I smell funny.

That is wild! I am about to switch this week to generic 30mg prevacid (from OTC). I'm glad to know your experience, in case it happens to me. Thanks for sharing.

    Help!

I'm 7.5 weeks out and am hungry most of the time. I was told by my surgeons office and this board that its due to acid production. I have been on a PPI since surgery and have changed meds, changed doses etc but still remain hungry. So I would like to know also, if this eventually goes away in time, after the healing process is complete. This would be my main reason for my 'what have I done' moment, if this doesn't go away, why should I have had this surgery? It's so discouraging to hear everyone say how their hunger is gone, when I am hungry most of the time.

Globetrotter, keep the calories up, 700 or higher. At 600, your body is probably in starvation mode and will not allow you to lose weight. Do whatever works!
  22. I saw the post too, and wanted to tell you I was on nexium (omazeperole sp?) to start and it didn't help. I switched to Prevacid & gaviscon and it seems to be helping. My problem is the false hunger caused by the acid. So if one doesn't work for you try something else. Good Luck!

    Hiccups??

I get them too, for me it is associated with eating & drinking. I hold my breath to slow them down. Helps alittle.

    Reading Posts

When I click on the post title or even the icon 'go to first unread post', it always takes me to the last message. Is this going to be fixed? Its very frustrating. I either want to read from the top, or the true 'first unread post' Please help!
  25. I was told it's acid, and that's why we take a PPI. I started out on nexium and it didn't help at all, so I switched to prevacid and it helps but not 100%. I still get that empty ache/hunger feeling. I pop a gaviscon every once in a while and that seems to make it go away for a short time. In general, I'm really bothered by this 'hunger' feeling, because one of the primary reasons I got this sleeve was to alleviate my hunger. I wonder if this never goes away will I end up sabotaging myself over time?
