    Forum assistance

I would like to know why the web admins never respond to issues in this forum? Except for members to come here and gripe about things that are wrong, it seems nothing is ever resolved. How are we supposed to get things fixed? (I have an outstanding issue with my member title)
  2. My surgery was at the end of August, and I just hit the 30# loss! Finally! Slow, yes, but permanent. When I get down about how slow I'm losing, I just think back to losing weight prior to VSG and it would take me almost a year to lose 30#. So I know I'm definitely ahead of the game at this point. Just focus on yourself and your journey and all will be well.

    Afraid I'm hungry

LowCho, OMG! I couldn't have stated it better, I feel the exact same way as you!. I have also change my PPI twice, I've tried nexuim, prevacid and now I'm on protonix. I am averaging 1000-1100 cals per day, and am at a stall for the past month. It is all so discouraging when you actually feel the hunger in the belly the majority of the day. My PCP is not too helpful as she is not all that familiar with VSG and after affects, and the fact that I complain about hunger (they probably think I'm a whack job), saying its acid. I too don't know where to go from here, I am going to write my surgeon to see if he has any stats on this issue (since he's done so many procedures) Any veterans out there that experienced this, does it just eventually go away on its own? My mental state, thinking I'm going to have to live with this feeling for the rest of my life, has got me really down. Foxbins, Thanks for the encouragement, I did just get my 3 month labs, and all was perfect, except B12 was too high, so I stopped taking that supplement. I am eating a balanced diet, 60-80gr protein per day, and exercise actually makes me hungry. I am challenged daily to get in my Water, but I keep drinking all day long. I am probably not exercising enough, and am going to join my local gym next week. I want to be able to mix up the exercise and not get in a rut doing the same exact thing all the time. So I guess time will tell...we all just cope the best we can each day, right?

    Afraid I'm hungry

I'm in my 4th month and am hungry alot. I've been trying different PPI's but they don't eliminate my hunger. I am disheartened, as I was really sure this surgery was going to eliminate my hunger. Now I'm hungry and I can't eat very much (yes it's good that I can't get very much in), but I'M HUNGRY ALL THE TIME, and I WANT THAT FEELING TO GO AWAY!!!
  9. How can I change my Member Title? I notice that there are various versions of member title for alot of users, but there is no where to change it in my profile.

    How to change 'Member Title'?

Dang it! My profile does not have to option to edit member title (it might be because I'm on the IP board) I don't know. I only have these options to select from to edit, and within each catagory there is no option to modify member title Change Profile Information Change About Me Page Change Signature Change Photo Change Avatar Manage Ignored Users Manage Facebook Connect Manage Twitter Connect Profile Customization

    How to change 'Member Title'?

That doesn't really make since, you show as 'VST Addict', with 121 posts. And Tiff shows as 'Registered User' with 4000+ posts No, the web admin needs to explain this, but they probably will just ignore this as they do most questions posted on this forum

Also, 'Member' and 'Newbie' When you are reading a thread, just look under the profile picture, there's alot of them

    How to change 'Member Title'?

I've seen some strange ones, like 'Super User' 'VST Addict' So I thought there were options to change it.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

I've still been walking every day. Supposed to snow tonight, so indoor bike, here I come. I stopped by my local gym, about 1/2 mile from my house, they are having holiday special for $24.99 per month for 24/7 access, plus unlimited classes (which is what I'm really interested in). At $10 per class drop in fee, I think just joining for the monthly fee, is worth it. What do you guys think? It's only for a 12 month commitment (and yes the price may go up after that, but hey, for a year its a great deal)

    How do you know?

For me, deciding that VSG was the way to go, had to do with my lifetime of yo-yo dieting and volume eating. VSG has eliminated the volume eating permanently, which is something I could no way control on my own. period. I knew looking forward that I would only get fatter and probably sicker if I didn't do this. You are not required to get your PCP's approval before getting this procedure (when you are self pay). I told my PCP prior to surgery because I wanted to find out if she would support me in my decision. She did not support me (because I went to MX). So when I got back I found another doctor to go to.

    Dr. Aceves

If you search for 'Aceves' in the search bar on this website, you will get alot more information than you can even think to ask here. I had a great experience, and during my research I could not find anything negative about him. Yes, you will find stories of negative experiences but when you really read thru them, they are that person's experience and not actually a negative act by the doctor himself. Like reactions to anesthesia or other meds, or pain issues etc. These things were not caused by Dr. Aceves and the person would have easily experienced the problems with any doctor. I paid $8750, special price. I think regular is $9500. You stay in the hospital 4days/3nights and the doctors see you every day 2-3 times a day. Every room is private with a comfy couch, so if you bring someone they can stay there with you. Do the search in the forum, the wealth of information is there.
  20. How much was it for self-pay there?

  23. Thanks Diva, I will definitely keep that idea on the Plan B list!
  24. From what I've learned so far in my Quest to eliminate my hunger or false hunger or acid OR WHATEVER IT IS that is making me hungry all the time. I've found so far that: active ingredient - esomeprazole magnesium (i.e nexium) - didn't do diddly squat active ingredient - omeprazole (i.e. Prilosec) - only tried for a week, seemed like same ingredient as nexium and still didn't do anything for my hunger. active ingredient - lansoprazole (i.e. Prevacid) - I've been on for couple of months and it has helped alittle but not constant. I also didn't know that this is an H2 blocker not a PPI, per my PA (I don't really remember the difference) active ingredient - pantoprazole sodium (i.e. Protonix) - going to try it, and see what happens If this doesn't work, I don't know what's next, I think those are the main PPI's on the market now.
