Ironically, I'm sitting here eating a bowl of Ramen noodles when I saw this post. It will be one of my last meals before I have surgery. lol lol I just asked my coordinator if Ramen noodle broth was allowable and she said it was IF I diluted it with Water a lot, and low sodium chicken broth. It has a high sodium content.

I love hot dogs...but I've heard that many post-op patients get sick off of them, so I'm a little scared. But I can definitely see how it would go down a little softer. Although, the thought of chewing a hot dog till it's basically 'sauce' makes it a little unappealing to me. lol

Restruant Discount cards
Sunshine replied to cwalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my card yesterday and threw it away. You can buy anything a la carte from a restaurant. So, I decided not to use mine. Plus, I'd be embarrassed. -
Despite EVERYTHING, I am going through with surgery!
Sunshine replied to mp8btpc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What a brave person you are. Facing fears is a HUGE thing to do. I will pray for you to find peace the day of your surgery (and...weeks prior). Keep us informed so we can help you through this 'scary' time.... We're here for you.:001_tt2: -
Excited and ready I think hopefully, maybe!

I am so very happy for you. And I pray that you heal quickly, and have Peace with your decision. I've heard that you will have moments of "What have I done", so expect that...but know the end result will be a glorious one. It was nice reading your post because my surgery is in a few days and the closer it gets, the more I'm nervous. Glad to know I'm not the only one. -
Praying for all of you today...whether it's the surgery date, a few days after surgery, or a few days before it. We WILL do this!!!!!!!!!

Why don't they make Protein pills that we can take? -
My surgeon is so rude.

Wow, I just read your experience w/this guy. I haven't the replies yet because I had to speed and scroll down so I could write you something. His behavior was UNCALLED for, UNWARRANTED, UNBELIEVABLY rude, and 'just WRONG'. Switch to another Dr. .....now. Period. And complain to the group he's associated with. -
Hi everyone...I'm totally new at all this. Only been on here for a few days. My surgery is in 1 week (July 19). I am very excited. I am 43, 246 pounds, 5'5" My Pre-op instructions were simple: - Day before surgery be on a liquid diet and drink 1 bottle of Magnesium Citrate. That's it. My list: - go to another store besides Walmart, Lane Bryant and Cato to buy clothes - not handing off 'playtime' with my 9 year old active son to my husband who is fit - a general 'feeling better' - not being the fattest one in the room - not dreading meeting my skinny friends - not having a backache anymore - having my joints feel better - not being so tired - KNOWING I'm healthier - sleeping better - being able to bend over to paint my toes - putting on my shoes in a non weird way - CROSSING MY LEGS - not tugging at my shirt all the time These are just a FEW things I could think of.

Wow. What a 'story'. That must have been extremely hard on you. I don't know you, but I wish I did (and wish I there for you). You definitely needed someone. You are a strong person. THANK YOU for writing this. I knew coming onto these boards that I would hear, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". But isn't that what REAL life is. Surgery does NOT go well for everyone. Yes, the details were what I wanted to hear (others may not care, and I'm sure others appreciate it). Me? I loved it. Generalizations can be formed very easily ....and for me, well...I like details. So, how are you now?

I am a 'self-pay patient'. Our house is paid-off and so we got a Home-Equity Loan. Plan is to have it paid off in 18 months.
