Hi, anyone here get a revision from sleeve to gastric bypass? I was sleeved in 2010 and lost 120lb. Now I'm up 35lb but would love to lose 50lb. My body's metabolism is the way it was before the sleeve (I still have restriction) but can't lose a substantial amount despite regular exercise and watching diet. The weight slowly crept up and Iv been playing with the same 10lbs for the past 2 years. I don't have gerd at all, I'm doing this for the added restriction and weight loss. I'm curious of others results with this. I'm skeptical bc online I'm seeing that with a second surgery an average weight loss is 25lbs. That's not very much for such a drastic and costly surgery. Would love to hear your results.

My doctor reccomends adding 2 teaspoons of benefiber to you morning protein shake. You cant even taste it in there and it's sugar free. Thats always a plus.

Hi AniO, I was checking up on you to how your feeling. I had my surgery yesterday as well. Im feeling pretty good today, even though yesterday was horrible. The only issue Im having is the uncomfortable feeling when swallowing my luquids and shakes. They're going down well I just dont like the way it feels. How about you? Are you experiencing this or anything else? I hope your doing well. -

Im having my surgery on the 18th also. Tomorrow at 12:15 I will be sleeved. I have 2 young boys and it does worry me a little, but I know in the back of my mind that everything is going to be fine and my boys are going to have an even better mom after all this is over with. Im going to get to do sooo much more with them than I could ever do now. My husband is having the surgery next month and he has the same fears. I think it's normal to be scared, but were going to be fine. Good luck tomorrow, Im saying a quick prayer for you right now. -

It sounds like Divine Intervention!!!! -
Nothing is free and if it sounds to good to be true, then it usually is. In my opinion we will pay taxes out the ying yang and we will probably also end up paying for a majority of ILLEGAL immigrants. And forget about surgeries such as vertical sleeve, we will have to pay every dime of these surgeries ourselves. Im afraid the system would think its cheaper to let us die from our obeseity than pay for our surgeries. That's just my QUICK thoughts.

My date is Wednesday August 18 with Dr. Hart in Georgia. I cant believe it's almost here. It's weird, Now that Im done getting all the insurance stuff over with and finally getting a date I feel weird JUST WAITING. For the past 7 months it seems like my weeks have been filled with appointments, phone calls and emails. This whole wls surgery thing just seems to peaceful right now. Maybe it's the calm before the storm. Anyone else feel this way?

Approval from Great West (a part of Cigna)
sarah092080 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:biggrin0:Hi all, I cant beleive it but I am finally approved. This has been longest 6 months ever. I just wanted to give a breif summary of my approval process with Great West Health Insurance. Iv noticed that most of the forums dont have much information for Great West. My surgeons office sent in my paperwork for approval last Friday, July 9. I called Great West today Thursday, July 15 and they told me I was approved today. The lady on the phone also informed me that they do approvals for bariatric surgery on Thursdays and Fridays. I hope this helps anyone who is using Great West. Now I just have to wait for the approval letter to come in the mail. She said it takes up to 10 days, but would probly only take a few work days. -
