  1. 1 years has passed since you registered at VerticalSleeveTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary euphoric-in-tx!

  2. They had me up and walking that day. About 3 days after I went to Target and did some shopping for my sisters birthday. I was tired when I came home but didn't hurt that bad. I did cream soup for 2 weeks. By the end of that 2nd week I told myself I never want soup again!! LOL This week moved to meats and I'm like you so scared to eat to much. But you can tell when you start to get full it's gets ucomfortable and I just try to stop before it gets to that point. Do you know when we can drink out of a straw again?

  3. I feeling better today on the inside I still have a lot of gurgling noises. I am so scared I am going to eat or drink too much. I talked to the Dr today about how much I should be taking in and he said that they put more on the diet because people were getting dehydrated. He said that I was doing a good job just sip sip sip. Today I can have yogurt and creamy soup, that's for the next 3 days. I have been using the bath towels that the hospital gave me to keep clean. So today will be my first shower since the surgery. I'm a little scared I am gonna hurt my self. How much were you up and walking after your surgery?

  4. I am so happy for you that surgery went so well! How are you feeling? I have been to Southlake a couple time for work purposes. That is a really nice city. What do you get to eat the week after that? Right now I have finally made it to refried beans, eggs, tuna...that sort of thing. Doesn't take a lot to fill me up though.

I am glad you are doing good! Keep up the good work and if you need anything hollar!

  5. Hey if you click on view conversation and then post you message there I will see your message.

  6. My surgery went great. I have liquid for 5 days and then add mushy food. That's great you have lost 22 lbs. Dr. Sewell in southlake did my surgery. total cost for my surgery is $16,000 that's with a year visits with the Dr. and 6 months with the dietitian and group therapy. I am having a 23 hour stay a the hospital and will be released tomorrow. The Dr. said they did my surgery in 45 mins when it normally it takes 1hr to 1hr. and 15mins. He wishes he would have video taped it because it went so smoothly.

  7. Monday will be here before you know it! I had mine in Dallas on July 8th. It has been 16 days since surgery and 24 days since I've had food that I actually have to chew. I am still on liquid soup from the blender. I have lost about 22 lbs so far. I am starting to be able to tell and can almost squeeze into my size 14 jeans. (have been 16 for 2 years). The diet is getting kind of old but I have just been trying to switch soups so I don't get tired of them. Next week should be mushy stuff. Dr. Jaysaseelan did my surgery. Who is doing yours? Is it so much cheaper in Dallas then down here. There are a few experienced surgeons at Scott and White where I work but they charge about twice what I paid!

So good luck Monday! You will do great!

  8. Sorry it has taken me a while to respond, it has been a busy week for me. I hope that in August my desire phone will come out on the market, so I can get on line more. Every one tells me they are seeing a difference but I have yet to see it. I know what you mean about how celebration and socializing all most always revolve around food. Last night my uncle turned 60 so we had a party. The good thing is he cooked food that I could eat which was nice of him. I did have 2 very small bites of cake and I wanted more but I just thought “you only eat to live not live to eat". My surgery is schedule for this Monday I have to be there at 6:00, and I will stay for 23hrs. I am so excited!

I live in Ft. Worth and I am hating the heat right now.

So how are you doing with your diet? How far are you in post op?

    What was I thinking ??!!

Wow, that's really powerful. It's amazing how old habits feel like such a part of your identity. Good luck with your journey!
  10. Congrats on the 12 lbs! That feels awesome huh? I would kill for that boiled egg right now! lol I really don't "feel" hungry though.

I had a bit of a pitty party today. My sister had her bday party at my house and they went swimming and ate all kinds of good food and lets not forget the cupcakes! You forget how much eating is party of family gatherings and socializing...especially here in TX I think.

Oh well though this too shall pass.

Keep in touch and let me know what date your surgery is going to be.

What part of Tx are you from?

I am in the "heart" as they call it. (Waco)

  11. I am on the last week of my pre-op diet and its tough. I have 2 shakes a day and lean meat and veggies and fruit at night. Today I had 3 boiled eggs instead of a protein shake witch probably was not the best But I figure its was some protein. I really couldn't stomach a shake this morning. Thankfully I don't have a week of liquids. I have lost 12lbs on my Pre-op diet. I hope I can loose another 3-5 lbs before surgery.

    Baby..oh Baby!!

Congrats on the baby! Eventually after I lose all the weight and atleast 18 months from now, we are going to try to have baby #2 also. My surgeon and OBGYN said it would be no problem. Good Luck with everything!

    Carbs gone for good?

    Thanks! That's encouraging ; )
  14. I am on my second week post-op. I can only eat just a few spoonfuls of Soup (pureed of course) and that's all I want. It is a very weird feeling! I am just wondering for those of you that are "veterans" on here: Can you eventually eat a sandwhich? Hamburger? You know reglar things that will be around you all the time? Not that I want any of that at this point. I'm just wondering for years down the road. Also, I gained a pound on the first day of liquid soup day??? :svengo: I only ate a few spoonfuls....whats that about? I got all of my Water in also. Still hating Protein drinks...don't think that will change anytime soon though! lol Thanks!!
  15. How is your pre-op diet going? Do you have to do a week of liquids?
