I was sleeved with Dr. Alvarez on August 7, 2010 and let me tell you it was AWESOME!! He is such a GREAT Dr and caring man. I have never received such prompt care. I saw either him or the other assisting MD 3-4 times a day. He also has an assistant, Jessica that is there during the day for anything you or your family needs. I am a nurse and I can say that this care was way beyond what you would receive in the states. I can not say enough nice things about my whole experience and I have lost 40 lbs!!! Go the ER in the next town around you. If there is what is considered a "county Hospital " care will be render no matter if you have insurance or not. It is there obligation to treat you. If you still have pneumonia you need attention. If you can't get help there call the medical board. These Dr take an oath when they become a phyisicans to CARE for patients. I am so sorry what you are going through. Hopefully this will help.

I am on the pre op diet and having been mixing the Protein powder with diet juices such as diet V8 juice. I did mix the vanilla with low sugar orange juice and it tastes exactly like an orange julius. I am not much on milk and I have heard that aren't not too good with Water so this is what I have came up with. Hope it gets better for you. I am doing the pre op liquid diet for 3 weeks which sucks period....lol

I am having to do the pre op diet for 3 weeks (yuck) but I do understand the importance of it! Saying that my Dr offers the Bariatric Advantage nutritional supplement to be purchased. Has anyone tried these products ( Meal Replacement drinks and bars) and if so what did you think of them?? It is quite a bit of money to spend. Some suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Could be your blood sugar. I would call my PCP and gets some lab drawn or if you know someone that has a glucometer at home just check your sugar. Just a thought. Hope you feel better soon.

Okay this is my 1st time to reply on here. I am scheduled for my sleeve on August 7th with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. Very excited and nervous but ready to start a new beginning. Best of luck to you guys as well.
