    Just got Sleeved Help!!!

I was sleeved a month ago, and the first 2 or three days all I could get down was a few sips of broth and water, but I kept at it and made sure I got my liquids in as best I could. It does get easier, my turning point was around day 4 or 5 post-op

    anyone get dizzy

Thanks for your post! I, too get dizzy, particullary when standing from a squatting postition, or sitting on the floor. It's good to see what everyone else is saying about this.

    Did anyone cheat?

No, I haven't, but I'm very very tempted - getting really sick of yogurt, protein drinks and milk!
  5. April, I too was sleeved on the 28th, and it's been a difficult road as well for me. I also had to have my gall bladder out. I had a tough time with the anestesia, was nausious and in pain for the first 2-3 days. At one point I was crying to my husband about 'what I did to myself', and that I had made a huge mistake. Well, I seemed to turn a corner on day 4, the anestesia was out of my system, I was on full liquids which I tolerated very well, and I started feeling much better. Today is my 1 week point, and I'm very happy with my decision to be sleeved - I've tried on my own for years to loose the weight, but it just never came off, or if it did, I would just regains. My heaviest weight was 243 (when I got home from a cruise about 2 wks before my surgery), and I was 228 the morning of my surgery. I'm now about 218, and feeling better and stronger every day. Hang in there, I know it's difficult, but remember the reasons for your decision - you deserve the life you want to live. It's only been 1 week, so don't be so hard on yourself - everyone heals at different rates. Since we were sleeved on the same day, I'd like to touch base with you as we go through this journey together.

My pre-op diet is driving me insane!

My pre-op diet was 2 weeks of Bariatric Advantage Protein Meal Replacement Shakes, nothing more!

    Post Sleeve...

Wow! I can't believe the difference in post-op care! I had my surgery on 6/29 in the USA. I went in Monday morning for surgery, had my leak test Tuesday morning, and was home by 4pm on Tuesday. The first few days home were tough for me, I wish the kept me in the hospital a few more days, but insurance wouldn't cover it. I'm als feeling fabulous now, down 24 lbs. including the 14 lost during my pre-op diet.
  8. I was sleeved on June 29, and the first 3-4 days post-op were very difficult for me, I was experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. However it started to subside on day 4, and today, which is day 5, I'm feeling a lot better. I do still have some discomfort, but it is tolerable. I am also experiencing discomfort when laying down, it takes me forever to position myself with pillows until I get a comfy position. I was able to go out and do some shopping today and some light gardening. My husband is taking good care of me and watches over me to be sure that I don't do to much.
  9. I also ate cream of wheat on day 4 post-op, it's considered a full-liquid. I think you should definately follow-up with your surgeon.

    Goooaaalllll!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What an amazing accomplishment, congratulations!
  11. I'm addicted as well; before my surgery, I of course never weighed myselve, or very rarely. Now I do every morning. I know I shouldn't, but I can't seem to help myself. The weight is coming off quickly with the pre-op / post-op liquid diet, so I can't seem to stay off the scale! As the weight loss evens out, I'll go to a once a week weigh-in schedule (Or I'll try!)

    3 days post op

I'm feeling much better now, 5 days post-op. Day 4 was the turning point for me I think. I'm tolerating the full liquid diet very well, and the Protein is giving me more energy. I'm pretty much pain free now, although I still experience some discomfort when swallowing - It may be my new stomach telling me I'm full. Thank you all for your support and encourgement.
  13. I had my surgery the same day, and also went home the next day! I did experience some pain and discomfort (more than I thought I would, the first 2 days were intolerable!), but now at 5 days post op I'm feeling much better, down 9 lbs since surgery, and 24 lbs. since my pre-op diet!
  14. I just read both your blogs, and WOW, I can't believe what you went through, how scary! I just wanted you to know that people do care, and we are all here to listen and support each other. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  15. I think the most important thing is to trust your relationship with your surgeon. I was my surgeon's first VSG, and I had no doubt about his experience and his ability to do my sleeve.
