  1. I've been doing some research on this stuff called nectar. Has anyone tried it? It comes in 11 flavors and is whey not milk based. Kevin

    Swimming

Not sure if anyone has asked this lately or not. My doctors appointments are at the end of july and early august due to my doctors being slammed. I was sleeved on June 28th. My incisions are fine and healing nicely. Now my wife and family have asked me to go out on the boat which includes swimming. How long did it take everyone to go back to the Water. Pool also if anyone has a pool. I just know its hot and naasty out and a dip is sounding inviting. I just dont want to get into trouble. Kevin

    Hunger?

Hey Kev! I was sleeved 11 days back here in Michigan and I can tell you I haven't had a single pang since I woke up. It still feels weird. Like sitting down to dinner or seeing people eat. I know I should be hungry but I'm not. Some people seem to get phantom pangs or signals as well and from research my wife tells that can be stomach acid creating a quick silent pang that goes away almost immediately. I can say I don't miss it. Though I know I do have to keep myself on a schedule or I might get busy and forget to eat. Kev

    The last horrah!!

Lol. What didn't I eat. i knew a month ahead before my surgery and had every favortie food I could put in my mouth. But about the time I was getting ready to start the pre op cleansing I hit a food wall. Nothing tasted good to me anymore. No amount or type of food. It was then that I realized I was soooo ready for the surgery. Do I miss certain foods. Being 11 days in a little but not being hungry all the time makes you reavaluate what goes into your mouth alot. Though I do admit watching tv does make the mouth drool occassionally....gotta stop watching the food network lol Oh well old habits die hard. Good luck all! Kevin

    Recovery

Just a question to you guys that have been sleeved. My wife had hers done back in febuary and she had little problem with her incisions other than the pull from excess skin. How did you guys faire with your incisions? Was recovery easy? Did they go through any heavy muscle? I'm just wondering on my recovery time. My wife seems to think I'll be up in 3 days no problem after the surgery. Kevin Sleeve Date June 29th Algonac Mi

    Had surgery on the 29th

Thanks Ellen! The best advice I can give so far is to follow your doctor and nurses advice and keep your fluids up post op. I was always a good drinker but sipping 64 oz plus a day is hard. Plus get Protein where ya can too. You'll be fine. Before you know it your day will be here and then you'll be home and on your feet wondering why you feel so normal as the weight slides off ya lol Kev
  8. Four days post op and I'm getting stronger every day. I haven't felt hungry at all. A little strange for sure. I thought that would fade in time. Think I'm already 5 to 6 pounds down so hey I can't complain! I hope everybody is doing great! Kevin

    Had surgery on the 29th

Gas is natural. They pump us up with gas to make it easier to move around when they are doing the surgery. The bloat and pain feeling will go away. Mine took about 4 days and I occasionally still get what I call a gas bubble. It usually feels like a fist in your guts. But it does go away. My wife had the surgery 4 months back and says she feels completely normal and until she has to eat she wouldn't know that she even had it either. So in that case yeah feeling normal is great. lol Just keep up your fluids and Protein and the weight will slide off. I'm six days in and down 17 pounds already. Good luck to ya!! Kev

    Had surgery on the 29th

Thanks so much all! Really love these forums. Everyone is so supportive and helpful! I weighed myself for the first time in 4 days and I'm already 11 pounds down in 4 days. I couldn't have done that before unless I starved myself lol. Good luck to all! Kev

    June Surgery anyone?

I'm having my surgery tomorrow on the 29th too. I think the nervousness is finally hitting me one day before. I know everything surgery wise will be okay. Just worried about those first three days post op. Good luck to all of you going tomorrow with me! I'll keep you in my thoughts! Kev

    Hunger?

My wife had her sleeve done in Febuary and she still had some hunger for a couple of weeks. We found out this is due to the fact that the hunger hormone is stored in the pancreus. After a while her feelings of hunger faded. I actually have to remind her sometimes to grab a quick bite. Her body does however let her know that shes gone too long by an almost low blood sugar weak feeling so its best to keep on a schedule. Good luck! Kevin Soon to sleeved on the 29th of June
  13. Hello all! My name is Kevin. I'm due to be sleeved on the 29th of June in Troy Michigan at Beaumont Hospital. I'm anxious but due to my wife going through it in febuary I know what to expect mostly from a recovery angle. I guess my real fear is because of the added muscle ontop my stomach that the punctures will take longer to heal or will hurt more than my wife's appeared too. Does anyone have any idea if that is true? Thanks in advance for any advice! Kev
