June 2010 Sleevers...JUMP ON BOARD THE LOOSERS WAGON!
missnyki79 replied to mp8btpc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Heeeyyy! Im still here. Well I should say im back. 4 years out I have maintained my 210 pound loss until recently. A couple weeks ago I was injured and doctors say I have to take at least 3-4 weeks off from the gym. I have gained 16 pounds this past two weeks and I am freaking. Any encouragement, advice, pep talks would be much appreciated! -
Congrats! It's an awesome feeling! You look fabulous!

Hi guys, my name is Kymberly and I have not been in the forums since my surgery in 2010. I am 35 years old, single and have an 8 year old that is awesome! He was my motivation for starting the journey. Encouraging others helps me to stay encouraged and motivated. I have lost a total of 220 pounds in 4 years. Recently I slipped a disk and have been unable to workout. I have gained sixteen pounds and freaking out. Reading all your posts has helped me to remain positive. Welcome to the journey, its a rollercoaster but we wouldn't change it for the world.

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
missnyki79 replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks I appreciate your response. I will try that and see what happens. It has really become annoying at this point. I am really not eating that much because I can only take about two table spoons and then I am full and there is still discomfort so I stay away from solids. -

Ok, Maybe something is wrong with me, I am not sure. After reading your comments I am thinking that there must be something wrong with my stomach. I am mostly on liquids even though I am 6 weeks out from surgery. I have the constant saliva all day and all night. So much so that I am throwing up when I first wake up in the morning and it is tons of saliva, and sometimes in the evening the same thing happens. I am only eating one solid meal a day and not much at all because of the pain that I feel when I eat solids. It is frustrating and unattractive to have to spit ALL the time! Ughhh, any advice for me? I have spoken with my doc and he did an upper GI and said all was well. What can I do to get rid of this "Spits".... -
I would say go with your gut and follow what your doctor says. Both my doc and nutritionist were on the same page, two weeks clear, two weeks thick liquids, two weeks soft foods and then solids. Right now I am at the soft foods stage and I am not as lucky as you, I am not digesting well.... Good luck to you!

Congrats on your success!

I am soo sorry to hear about what happened to you down there. I probably would have done the same thing and not went through with it after that experience. You are in my prayers... -
SO Thirsty-NOTHING quenches my thirst!!!!
missnyki79 replied to nikkib's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a little over two weeks and I have been having the same issue. Always thirsty and having to take small sips is driving me crazy. I have tried the Popsicles but I am tired of the sweets. Will this stage ever end? -

Congrats, thats great! -
Hey all, I am new here. I am about a week post-op. I had my sleeve done one 6/7/10. I am not hungry at all and have issues even remembering to drink Water. Is it normal to have the "ball" in your chest after surgery. It is really bother-som. I am still on thin liquids and Monday I will start the thick liquids. I hope to get to know you guys, I have been lurking and finally came out of the shadows. There is a wealth of information available and I thank you guys for it! =):biggrin0:

I had my post-op today and spoke with my doctor about it. He said it is normal to have that feeling as you progress it will diminish. He said it is the point of movement of fluids between your esophagus and your new smaller pouch. In the past couple of days my "ball" has actually moved down more into my stomach area and it is not as bothersome. It gets better!

OK, it happened.......I had my first pity party

Tomato soup sounds great. I would be so happy for something that has some substance and taste. Who knew you could get burnt out on clear liquids... -

Just know that you are not the only one. I am a week out and I am going through the same thing. I have to cook for my family and endure all of the food smells I come across. It is hard but just think of the benefits and your goal..... -

Congrats to all the June losers!!! My date was June 7th. Post op tomorrow, I am still excited! Yay! -
Thanks for the welcome. My doctor prescribed Zyntac and I can feel the acid buildup if I dont take it for a long period of time. It is slowly getting better.

Hey, I am new here as well and had my sleeve done 6/7/10. I have been having the same sensations but I am on a thin liquid diet for two weeks and then a thick liquid for two weeks. You may want to stick with the think liquids for a while and see how it works for you.
