I haven't been here in awhile...I have had work issues that are wearing me out. I wanted to share something real quick; is it just me or has anyone else discovered the pure joy of eating to live vs. living to eat. It hit me last week and was re-enforced this past weekend when I went out of town for my BD. Last year I would have had EVERY meal planned..where, when, with whom...this year if hadn't been reminded, I was having so much fun I might have forgotten to eat!

Hi everyone, I just got back from my second fill, fluro this time and what a nice thing that is! Also, the doctor said he put so little in that this may be my last fill...and it was only my second one...my weight loss had slowed down so that is why I went but when I told him I had started working with a trainer he told me to relax a little because everything is working the way it should be!

Jsrico, I lost 10 lbs during my pre-op and 33 since. I had more of a jump start though because I had to be banded twice in 5 days. I had a very unusual problem in that my first band was too small and I had TOTAL restriction. All is well now but it helped with my weight!

I started out with a tight 22 and I am now in a 14W...I can't imagine my size when I get to the goal I have set. Smaller than I have been as an adult EVER! Wonderful but scary at the same time!

Good morning everyone! I am having a lot of the same issues to deal with, mourning food, eating too fast, etc. etc. etc. One thing I know for sure though, I don't regret being banded!

I actually had to be banded twice, once on May 4th and then again on the 7th...I spent one of the most horrible weekends of my life in the hospital. My first band was too tight and NOTHING got thru. I then went for my first fill on June 29th and got 4 CC in the VG band...I ended up very sick, throwing up and nothing getting thru so had to go back in the afternoon and get 2 CC removed. I am in the process of seeing if I can have my next fill Flouro (sp?).

And, I still don't have any regrets. I just got back from vacation and was down 3 lbs! That has never happened before but I am confident it will happen again!

Everyone hang in there. I am going to go to a therapist when I hit 60 lbs. The one I went to for my evaluation said I would need to come back and he was right.

Good morning fellow May Bandsters! I went for a fill on Monday and it wasn't so good an experience. I have the VG band which holds 11 cc's. The doctor put 4 cc's in and sent me on my way. While I was driving back to work I felt nauseous but didn't think too much of it. Well, within an hour I was throwing up my one saliva and getting sicker by the minute. I had a co-worker take me back to the doctors and he met me at his office. He drew out 2 of the 4 cc's and it was such a relief. I have restriction but I don't know how long it will last. I told his assistant I would rather have more fills more often than go thru that again! After all I have been thru (I was banded on the 4th of May and spent the weekend in the hospital and had to be re-banded on the 7th) I still absolutely LOVE my band and wouldn't go back to pre-band life for the world!!

Just a quick note on the beer...it is a definate NO NO from what I have heard from different sources. It has carbonation so can stretch your band just like sodas can.

Jessica, sorry it isn't going well for you. My doctor says 2 months also but he wants everyone to loose 8 lbs a month and he will do a fill if that requirement isn't met even if it hasn't been 2 months. I have to loose 3 lbs by Thursday or I will be calling for a fill. I am not hungry very much, just no weight loss since the end of May. By the way my niece and I were asking your friend how you were doing because I hadn't seen you on the tread in awhile. Good to see you post!

I purchased my Magic Bullet on Ebay ... $42 included shipping! I don't know how I would have gotten this far without it.....I am on solids and still get it out all the time, mostly for yummie shakes!

I am not sure this is going to work right but here goes...1st one is me pre-surgery the second is my one month anniversary! -
I have the VG band and I am post surgery 4 weeks yesterday. I have noticed that I can eat a little more but I am still not getting anymore than 1000 calories a day. I just continue to take my tiny bites and chew, chew, chew. My doctor did tell me that it might take more fills for me but to keep him up to date as to my hunger level, etc. His stafff told me the main thing is I need to be loosing 8 lbs a month. If I am not, time for a fill!
-
My weight loss has slowed to 2 lbs last week, which is normal and should be our goal. The quick loss at the beginning is just a bonus jump start! I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow and the hunger has begun. I am so thankful that I have been reading on here since April so I knew that was to be expected. They call this time Banster Hell....before your first fill!

Thanks everyone for the welcome back! I am doing very well now. I had a freak thing happen, only me, and had to be re-banded on Monday because of a complication with my band on Friday. I am so excited to have begun my journey and I am down 22 lbs!! Good luck to everyone recently banded or soon to be banded...my band has a first name and it D-A-I-S-Y!!
-
Hi everyone! I am glad to report I am finally on the mend...I guess we need to change my official band date to May 7th as I had to be re-banded. I had a very freak thing happen and I don't want to go into details as it might be scary to some. Let's just sum it all up by saying, I am truly ellated that I am on the banded side and the beginning of a wonderful journey!
