    Unjury Protein Powder

I COMPLETELY agree. It has to be the best "chocolate" flavored Protein I've tried. It truly tricks my mind into thinking I'm drinking a cup of hot coco. All of its stats are perfect for us new Sleevers' too. The chicken Soup flavor is pretty good. It tastes like a creamy version of Cup of Noodle liquid. Now their vanilla flavor...not as impressed. I actually dumped my sample cup of that out... As long as you make sure the temperature isn't too high, all of these powders mix in EXTREMELY well compared to a lot of others I have tried. Also, I was having trouble with their Unflavored on Clear liquids...(is just wasn't tasting right in crystal light or anything clear for that matter) So I called their customer service and the lady emailed me a TON of recipes that included clear liquid ideas all the way through to solid foods. The recipes totally helped and now I'm using that daily as well. unjury HANDS DOWN wins my vote for most usable (tasty) product. I just wish there was a store front some where to buy it. :-)

    Afraid I'm eating to much!

Hi there fellow BonBon. Everything u listed sounds just fine. Im only a few days out but from reading for months now, and from what my dr told me, it sounds like you need to up your protien levels. Other then that the amount isn't shocking at all. Please talk to ur dr or a professional about making yourself throw up though. At only 4 months out (well at any time really) that may be doing some real damage to your tiny stomach. It also isn't helping you establish the healthy habits and life style that we must learn in order for this tool to work for us years down the line.
  3. So I was sleeved on 11/27/10 and everything went extremely well. We got home yesterday and I realized that I have been drinking normally since day 2 post op. (Not huge gulps or anything but a normal sized drink.) I think I was just nervous the first day and was taking TINY sips so that It wouldn't hurt... but now It doesn't even feel like I had surgery when swallowing my liquids. Nothing hurts going down... my abdomen is slightly sore and tight still but other then that I cant even tell that anything has changed. Hot, cold, room temp Clear Liquids.. Its all going down just fine. Today I have had 70 oz of clear liquids (including the 8oz of Water in each of my 3 unjury Protein drinks.) I haven't read about many people having such little trouble getting liquids down so early out.. I guess I was just expecting it to be way harder then this.... On one hand I should be feeling happy that Im not in pain or super swollen but on the other hand Its weird because my mind automatically goes to "Well what if I can get food down this easily too?" Logically I know when I get to dense Proteins that there will be more restriction and I will fill up but 5 days out its a hard concept to grasp. Did any one else go through this?

    Exceeding liquid requirements

Thanks for the reassurance BBJ. :-) Since posting this I have found a few threads from way back talking about people experiencing the same thing and I guess I just need to enjoy it?! It's just a weird trying to grasp the concept that I had major surgery 5 days ago and I feel completely normal...no pain swallowing, no restriction and no outer physical pain today at all. Thanks again for your reply. :-)
  5. Hey ladies! I live in OC but you all sound fun and I'd love to attend one of your meetings in the future. I won't be able to make it on the 27th because at 11am I will be in the OR getting my surgery!!! Please keep me in your thought at the meeting and hopefully I can make it to the next one?! Look forward to meeting everyone! ~Bonnie
  6. So I haven't been as active on here as I was a few months back because I was getting used to the idea that I may not be able to have surgery for about 6 more months. Originally I though I would be able to have surgery some time in September of this year but There was no way we could come up with the money and save/plan this wedding at the same time. So September passes and here I am... As you all know with the Sleeve time is crucial and with our wedding date set for 11/12/11 I was mentally preparing for still having to feel HUGE on my wedding day...Well NOT ANY MOREEEE! Last night my Fiancee' came home and said that he had sat down with some of his family (who I am very close with) and asked for the chunk of money we were not going to be able to come up with for months.... Now.. at first I was kind of upset that he had talked to them about it with out me there... but when he handed me the check for over half the surgery amount I literally dropped to my knees. This was at about 7 last night and I jumped on the phone (praying some one would be working late) with Dr. Aceves' office. No one answered and I was sooo antsy last night I could hardly sleep! This morning I hopped out of bed bright and early to call the office. I already sent in my paperwork months ago so they had me on file when I called and Nina gave me possible dates.. One of which is NEXT FRIDAY, November 26th?! and my other more likely option will be the 9th-12th of December!! So right now I'm waiting for a call from my fiancee to let me know that his boss is ok with him taking those extra 2 days off...and then I'll be headed to the post office to send the deposit check! Now... I'm sitting here having read the forums for about the last 8 months telling myself I know what I need to prepare and logically working through things in my head... Kinda. haha I literally though this was something so far away still and now its right here breathing down my neck. I know its the right decision for me and I am 100% in confident in choosing Dr. Aceves..Its just that reality is setting in... There are so many things like Vitamins, supplements and Protein that I though I would have a few more months to nail down.. and Now, even having read so much from all of you, I feel like this is all so foreign and new again. Maybe its just cus I'm so excited and haven't really come back down to earth from last night yet but I feel as if I know nothing.. What vitamins are the best post op (brand), what do I really know about PPI's, and what shakes have the right balance of protein/carbs/serving size for our small tummy (not worried about taste)?! Now all of the small things that I haven't read about are starting to cross my mind too like how well does chewing ice when you are on Clear liquids work to take away the desire to chew (Random I know)... ANY WAYS I know I'm rambling and there was nothing specific that I really want a response about but any feedback would be appreciated. I just wanted to share what has been running through my head non-stop for the last 12 hours... I know as the day goes on I will calm down and your responses will hopefully give me a little kick and remind me that I have done more reading here in the last 8 months then I can even wrap my mind around. Thanks in advance!!
  7. Thank you all for the well wishes. I have not stopped telling him how amazing this whole thing is for the last 24 hours. No one has ever given me something that was so life changing. It's all happening super fast but as everyone has said it's perfect timing for the wedding. and yes I will most likely have to wait till a couple weeks b4 the wedding to get my dress but I'll Have Sooo many more options then I do at this point ! Lookin forward to all the changes! Thanks again for the support.
  8. Oh my goodnessssssss this is moving fast now... I posted earlier about my random thoughts that were keeping me up last night with the post of "Reality is slapping me pretty hard this morning." I talked to my Fiancee and he can get the 26th-1st off of work.... And Now I just got off the phone with Nina and the date is set!!!! November 27th! I know I just need to take some deep breaths but IDK what to do after that... This has been such a pipe dream for over a year and all of a sudden ITS HAPPENING!!!! Has any one else had the process move so quickly once they money for self pay was available?! How did you get everything ready in such a short period of time? HELP? :-) P.S. OMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGG hehe
  9. Yolanda those sound wonderful! I am 12 days from surgery and would love to have your recipes on hand for the full liquids stage. Please share?! Thanksss!
  10. Thank you guys for the CONGRATS! I'm not telling a lot of family and only a few friends so the excitement and nerves are going to be spilling out here for the next 12 days.... OMG only 12 days...wow! :-)

    now there's a side-effect I didn't expect!!

Bahahhahahaha! Amazing thought process! Love it!
  13. Hello fellow Bonbon! I'm pre surgery so I can't offer much advice but I can say from reading the boards for so long...just hang in there and see how things progress as you heal. I know many people say they don't get a "full" sensation until after they start eating more dense foods. Hang in there and hopefully things start to change... :-)

    Foodie Blog for pre-op/newbies

Thank you soooo Much! I love "the world according to egg face" blog but because she had the RYN I suspect that some things she posts arnt as VSG friendly. I look forward to reading your blog and supporting you in your journey. I am still a few months away from being able to have surgery but I cant wait till the time comes and I can make some of the goodies you have created! Thanks again!

    Magic Bullet

Not to be a downer but I HATED my magic bullet! I am pre-op but I still dont enjoy large chunks of things in what ever I am trying to blend smooth. I know after surgery that would defiantly be a problem as well. The magic bullets design is horrible! All I know is that I got so sick of things getting stuck and it not living up to its promises that I threw it out and got a Ninja Master Prep Pro! The Ninja is the besttttt thing in my kitchen right now! The magic bullet doesn't even come close. I guess its a personal choice but I cant understand what all of you like about this device... Go with the Ninja! Wayyy more bang for your buck! :-)
  21. Im a little late on this but Hope everything went well! You should be out and in recovery by now so I'm sending well wishes your way for a speedy healing period! Keep us updated on your progress?!
  22. Great post! Thank you! Thoughts of a "last supper"...or 12, have crossed my mind but as I read more and more I am realizing that my favorites will still be in my life.. just in smaller portions. I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't really have cravings for "bad" or "junk food." For dinners I make mostly (90% of the time) lean meats or fish, with plenty of veggies, and usually some kind of grain/pasta...(couscous, brown rice, Quinoa, Amaranth, or Farro.) We also do a lot of Sashimi nights. Now thats not to say that every so often I won't ever go for the Rib Eye and eat all of my fiances charred fat before I even plate up our steak, roasted garlic potatoes, corn and crispy shallot green Beans...:blush:haha For me its just that I eat way too much of the good "healthier" stuff 90% of the time. My problem is and always has been that I can just eat and eat and eat. So I feel that this surgery is the PERFECT answer to my ever nagging issues with food. :thumbup1:
  23. Thank you for posting these! You have helped me so much already and I cant wait to join you on that bench! I also love the pics of you "wearing"that dress. hehe GREAT idea! Good motivation. Super cute dress! Keep up the AMAZING work!
