wednesday's the day for me!!!
Papillon replied to freshpeach's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wishign you all the best for a quick and easy recovery!! Please post when you can and share your experiences. It helps the ones like me who are waiting until September. -
I like the Premier one's too. You might also try adding sugar free torani syrup to the shakes. This gives you some variety. Also if you can handle cold things now.. a quick zip in the blender with ice makes for a nice chocolate shake feel. Either way if the protein shakes are not your thing it sounds like your Nutritionist is concerned that you will get the alotted protein each day. If you can find other ways to get your protein power to you. A lot of people get the unflavored protein and add it to everything else.

Welcome to the site... Everyone is really supportive and honest with their experiences. My husband and I are both scheduled for September 13th and will be starting the official liquid diet on August 30th. I understand how you feel I get stressed out and wonder if I am making the right choice... then I think about how I feel now and the things I want to be able to do when I am at goal...

anything is great! every thing you can do for yourself matters whether it is a 5 minute walk three times a day or some crazy workout that would make richard simmons winded. lol I find for myself that I prefer dance classes.. you have fun and it is exercise but you don't feel like you are working out. haha I use the Just Dance on the wii also so I can dance at home and no one can see. lol believe it or not I also took Belly Dancing at a Senior Community Center and had the time of my life!! It wasn't about who looked the best or moved the best it was all about shaking what you had and having fun!! : D

I had this too... sucks!! I ended up seeing a podiatrist. he gave me cortizone shots in the heel (they hurt but they work) I also ordered a pair of orthodics through his office. Insurance doesn't cover them unless you are diabetic (luckily I am not) so the cost was about 300.00 but you can get them recovered for around 20 every couple years so it is worth it. I wear them all the time. It makes a huge difference. I also stretch my feet every night and I have a small ergonomic step stool under my desk that I can use to keep my feet at a better angle at work. :mad0: p.s. cool tip if you rub a bar of soap along the bottom edge of your orthodics they will not squeek in your tennis shoes.

Good luck Cindy!! Here is hoping this time is seemless and you are on your way! I understand about the liquid diet... we were on it for a week per the surgeon's instructions. It was brutal... but possible. Hang in there. I am sure I will be in the boat next to you wishing for more than protein drinks soon. haha

Thank you Toytoy! Good luck to you too!! It took over 8 months to complete all of the requirements. Crazy to think we are almost there...

If you have a Wii the game Just Dance is nice too... There are some lower impact ones that you can do. Just take it easy until you are cleared from the doctor. I love this game because it is soo much fun it doesn't feel like exercise.

Torani sugar free syrups are great too. I have the black cherry, hazelnut, caramel, and English Toffee. The black cherry is great in plain yogurt when you can have it. -
You look amazing!!! I can only imagine how it must feel looking back on your decision a year out and at goal! I am still waiting on insurance and feeling overwhelmed.... it is really encouraging and inspiring to see your story. Wishing you all the best!!
