Despite EVERYTHING, I am going through with surgery!
Papillon replied to mp8btpc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wishing you an effortless surgery! :thumbup1: -
costco has premier Protein shakes for about $17.00 a case which is not a bad price. They are pretty good. I prefer them over the muscle milk light. (though they aren't bad either) It might be cheaper to go your own way. They also have chewable multi Vitamins (kirkland childrens) which are not bad. You can also try for some samples from Bariatric Advantage before investing a lot of money. I have found for myself that I cannot stomach chicken broth or bouillon. I have been using the premier shakes and vitaminzero Water. :svengo: This coupon is expired but it shows the premier shake box. :confused1: http://www.priceviewer.com/deal/manage/up/201005081273375436_3a4574c92a02b1067c9dd5f3c08fde43.jpg p.s. It gets easier each day on the liquid diet. The first couple days were really rough for me because I also gave up caffeine. You can do it!!! hell if I can do it, anyone can!

How long must I take protein drinks?
Papillon replied to Sunshine's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The premier ones from Costco aren't bad. :001_tongue: Though after a week of 3 a day for the liquid diet I admit I am getting a little sick of them hehe.. Thank the gods for sugar free torani syrup. -
have you tried chewable? they tend to be a little nicer on my stomach. Costco has kirkland chewable childrens vitamins. :001_tongue: They look like little dinosaurs too. hahah

WHOHOO!! That is great!! If you start feeling stressed again... (and if you can lift things safely now) Pick up a bag of dog food or cat sand at the store. They are close to this in weight. You will be amazed! That is soo great!! I cannot wait to be in the same boat! :001_tongue:

Woohoo!! Congratulations!! Wishing you a seemless operation and quick recovery! Please post when you can. :001_tongue:

Huge Congratulations Tiffykins!! Thank you so much for posting this. I am on day 4 of my liquid diet and I am struggling.. this afternoon was better I actually forgot about anything relating to food for a couple hours! : ) it is really great to see your progress and all of the advice you post on the forum. Thank you for being so supportive and honest. I wish you continued success!!! -
Just remember the people who matter love you just as you are! Their support and love will be what lifts you up on your journey!

Definitely good for plain yogurt. I like to use sugar free hazelnut syrup, with cinnamon, and pumpkin spice.

Afraid of changes after surgery
Papillon replied to 4romatl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not had surgery yet but I am on the liquid diet. (day 4) It is hard but you can do it!! If I can make it through this anyone can. I have no will power. lol. I am sure your diet will have to change quite a bit but you should still be able to eat most things... it will just take time to progress to the next stage. The best advice I can give you is to think about how much you like food and then think about how much you like you current body. For me food is really a luxury when compared to how I feel health wise.. I am tired and cranky and feel like giving up but, I am going to do this! For me! There is not a type of food on the planet that I would give up that would make me resent feeling better. I might miss it now and then but with the sleeve you can have most kinds of food. (depending on how you tolerate it and your goals) The sleeve is a tool, you have to do the heavy lifting. -
DOWN 30.5 pounds!!!
Papillon replied to sickofrollercoaster's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations Angie!!! That is wonderful!!! You should be very proud of yourself~! -
I understand how you feel. I am tired of being the big one.. It would be really freaking nice to be described as the tall one. Instead of the BIG girl. lol

did your family doctor approve?
Papillon replied to Calgarygirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My PCP was very supportive. Honestly it was a bit of a wakeup call for me... I realized that no matter how I feel inside, I am obese. I think there was a very small part of me holding out on the hope that I am not to that point, and he would tell me to look at other options. -
The call that I've been waiting 7 months for

Congratulations!!! I understand how you feel... I have been gung-ho and then oh no in the same day. hahah -
The premier Protein shakes from costco are actually really good. I am getting a little tired of them being on day 4 of the liquid diet but.,... if you take them and put them in the blender with some crushed ice and a little sugar free torani syrup they are like a chocolate shake. heheh Hang in there guys!! I keep reminding myself if all the people on this forum can do it, I can to!! This week has really shown me how much of things I really need. I will never look at food the same way again.

I understand... I am on day 4 of the liquid diet and I am about ready to take a bite out of my desk. I have not had surgery yet though... Anyway just wanted you to know I empathize.

My surgeon is so rude.
Papillon replied to sbingram12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My two cents.. I would not want someone operating on me that treated me so poorly. There are ways to support someone and share information without being an ass. If it really bothers you I would talk to him next time and tell him how you feel. It may not register, but you will feel better about it and I can guarantee if he talks to other people like that they are upset too. -
I'm 18 and new here!
Papillon replied to iwantconfidence's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome!! I wish you all the best on your weightloss journey. Remember why you are having the surgery (when you are feeling down) and be true to yourself. College is a wonderful experience... lots of work, memories, new experiences, and I wouldn't trade a single moment.
