I was banded on 03/06/07. I had to have all of the saline removed in Nov. 2008. due to having esophagus spasms. I had to let my stomache rest for 10 weeks. then sart all over with .3 cc's at a time. I am now up to 2.3 as of 03/17/09. I am now experiencing almost like acid reflex, just a little burning sensation in my throat. Anyone knows what this is telling me. Is my band too tight? Does anyone know the signs, if your band is too tight? Getting discouraged, does not seem like I will ever find my "sweet spot". How do you know when you find your sweet spot? Any info anyone has would be helpful! :blushing:

don't wait like i did. I was spitting up during the night. Went to the doctor found out that is one of the signs something is wrong. In mycase by band was too tight. Had to get a barium swallow, showed I had a small hiatal hernia, but my band was still in tact.

Thank you for responding, i have been worried about these spasms. Hurts!!!I am glad that the xrays showed that the band was still in place. when you released your band, are you saying he removed all of the saline? All of mine has been removed, it will be a little ove 4 weeks when I return to the doctor on 09/15. After 6 weeks did you get a fill? How many cc'sI hope my issue works out for the best. Thanks again >>>Any advice you can over would be appreciated as well

If anyone has ever had a hernia develope after having lap band surgery, can you tell me what the doctor did. Mine is somewhat painful and my doctor took all of my saline out of my band so that i could get an ba swallow/xray. I do not go back until 09/15/08. I just cannot imagine him giving me a fill, because of the pain. I don't know if the hernia will need to be removed or what the next plan of action is. So :frown:if you have experienced this will you please give me some insight. Banded on 03/06/08. lost 58lbs. and I don't want to gain it back!!!

I had all of my Fluid removed from my band on Tuesday, discovered it was too tight. I had very bad pain right above my port. Went bak to doctor, sent me to get a ba swallow/xray. Today i was told that i have a very small hernia. The nurse did not know what the doctor was going to do, she just calling to let me also know the band was still in tact and there was no slippage. Has anyone ever had this issue. If so can i still get a fill?

I was banded 03/06/07. I have lost 58 lbs. My last fill was 07/01/08. I was fine or I thought I was fine. I began to throw up, called doctor. They told me that my stomach was irritated. So i was on liquids for 2 days 1 day soft foods, then regular foods. It stopped for about a 8 days started again. Went to doctor, he took out 2cc's of my 3.1 cc's on Tuesday. I felt better once this was done. Then I began to have what i was thinking real bad indigestion. Pain was horrible. I was taking mylanta but it was not working the pain persisted. Went back to doctor today, he took the rest of the fills out. I had to go get an xray, drink the barrium. Doctor says could be something else going on. Could be esophagus spasms, possible band slippage, hernia. I did not get the results yet, hoping all is well.:cursing: Has anyone ever experienced this, that can give me some advice. Update, nurse told me tolday, there was no slippage, bur that the xray showed a hiatal hernia. She is going to speak with doctor about what the next step is

Hi everyine, I have been away for a few months. I was banded on 03/06/07. I have had several fills, a total of 3.0 cc's. My doctor gives 2 to 4 cc's at at time. My last fill was first week of April. I am having a difficult time this last week keeping several different foods down. I started at 272 and I am down to 219. I am able to drink plenty of liquids. Is this normal what i am going through. do you think it is just a poor choice in foods. I take a bite of something and i actually wait about 15 to 20 minutes before i take another. I have not lost anything since my last fill, I have actually gained 2 lbs. I beleive I get tire of throwing up so I eat something soft that goes down easily. Just looking fo some great advice. Thanks!!

I have been away for a while. I was banded on 03/06/07. I have lost 25 lbs. I have had 4 fills. First on 04/24/07 and the 4th today. A total of 2.8 cc's. I actually gained 2 puonds. I have been hungry for the last 2 weeks. I misundersttod my Dr. I thought he told me to come back every 5 weeks for a fill. No, you come back when you are hungry. Espeicially when hungry in between meals. So I have been a little discouraged, but happy to know I was wrong. Until next time!!!

Jewel, thank you, thank you, thank you for your quick response. I felt like I was going crazy. I was banded on 03/06/07. I have had 3 fills. The last was on 05/31/07 .4 cc's for a total of 2.0 cc's altogether. I have to continue to work on my way of thinking when it comes to me not being able to eat a lot of things I ate before due to restriction. Believe me I am learning the hard way. I have lost a total of 23 lbs. I really excited about my weight loss journey and want to stay focused. Just reading your response has really really helped. I would love to be lap buddies. I hope I don't bug you too much. I know everyone is different when it comes to what foods you can tolerate. This is where I am at in this process. My biggest problem was in the mornings, what to eat for breakfast. Cannot eat eggs by themselves, they would make me throw up. So I now do what you mentioned I do a Protein smoothie. Well, again thank you and I will keep in touch!!! Stephanie 272-started/249-current/150-goal
