Have the Dr lance them, keep them clean and dry. I know the pain of friction blisters, if you think this is bad, you have NO idea how bad it is to have a friction blister on your lady bits! Yeah, it's a real thing, so please no "informed" comments on STDs, I've been to my Dr been thoroughly checked out for every conceivable STD and I'm clean, but because of a deformity I have and the massive weight loss, one of my inner labia is in the wrong position and gets pinched and rubbed raw if I don't "tuck", so when I do heavy travelling or running and forget to "tuck" I get a friction blister and it is incomprehensibly painful, especially because you can't do any of the things you are supposed to for blisters, I can't lay there all day with my legs open, letting the air and wind dry it! I can't lance it because I can't keep the area dry and bandanged, it's miserable and the more weight I lose, the more exposed this bit of flesh becomes, so I'm thinking of having reconstructive surgery.

All of the food available to me in this deployed environment is SO loaded with salt it's not even funny. I was 189 yesterday, this morning I was 191.
-
Okay, mornings are easy - it is morning now (I'm 7.5 hours ahead of US east coast) I have no inclination for food in the mornings, it's the nights when I am soothing myself and relaxing from the day and trying to fall asleep that I want to nibble. So, right now, I am having some herbal tea, and I will have a protein shake made with 1% milk. Lunch will be a salad and some tuna - no bread. Dinner will probably be some chicken if I can get it, if not - another protein shake. I kinda like having a semi-frozen protein shake at night, it's almost like a milkshake and satisfies the craving for sweets. Let's see if I am able to adhere to this .... Oh and I will do weights and cardio tonight.

Forgetting for the moment pounds lost, lets talk about what changes our shape the most

No kettlebells available to me, again, I am deployed. All I have are some free weights, some lifecycle treadmills and ellipticals, and some nautilus type weights machines. -
Forgetting for the moment pounds lost, lets talk about what changes our shape the most
Globetrotter posted a topic in Fitness & Exercise
We talk a lot about our diets, our routines, our exercise regimens, but I want to talk about which exercise changed your shape the most. Was it running? cycling? boxing? Jumping rope? At my fittest last year I was frustrated with the number on the scale but at that level of fitness I started to run and although I don't recall my numbers changing, my shape did, and even though I was 40 pounds heavier than when I first wore it, I was able to put on my high school cheerleading outfit. Now I am launching into the fray against re-gain, and still wanting to reach goal. I'm getting back into the swing of exercising consistently and intensly and want to know what yielded the most impressive results for you. thank you! -
I've been working out steadily for about 2 weeks now, every day, then suddenly about 3 days ago, I started getting shaky after working out. It did coincide with A) coming down with something don't know what exactly, and adding weights. Anyway, after a workout now, if I hold my hands out in front of me, they shake, I can barely hold my arms over the keyboard to type right now. whats up?

Sudden stop in weight loss with low calorie intake.
Globetrotter replied to Ms skinniness's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
What is HIIT? Tonight I did 15 min elliptical @ medium heart rate range, 15 min bike @ medium heart rate range and some light stretching and if I hold my arms out straight, my hands are shaking (been a little tired lately). -
Thank you, Hathery, everyone else, well aren't y'all just made of steel!

Sudden stop in weight loss with low calorie intake.

My version of "running" right now consists of one full minute at 4.5, followed by 2 minutes of 3.0, etc. etc. until 10 minutes have passed. Any ideas, Fiddleman, on why I'm not losing weight? -
what's the difference between something that fits and something that's tight?

The only clothes I feel happy in are my mid-calf length workout leggings from Maratek, a loose tee and my college hoodie, everything else makes me feel porcine. -

So still no good reason why I'm not losing weight. What 5'3" body wants to stay at a bone crushing 189 pounds?? I'm drowning in flab and my psychotic body is happy to just let it happen. Tonight at the gym I will just run and stretch, no weights. -

Holy $h!t balls man, that's a lot of exercise! How many calories are you taking in? I'm getting a wee bit frustrated because the example of my workout I listed about is what I do every day (I change it up a little) and at 750 cals I haven't lost a pound in 2 weeks :/ My water could definitely be better, I'm probably only getting about 48 oz a day. -
@Arts - it's only 105 lbs, I have another 57 lbs to goal :/ @Lipstick - girl, I've tried it all, there is no rhyme or reason to the carb craze. Some days I start off with a Protein shake and I'm full all day, other days I start off with a shake and can't stop eating all dang day.

Last night I ran a quick 10 minutes on the treadmill to warm up then lifted - upper and lower body, for about 30 minutes, followed by yoga/pilates strength training (down dogs, planks, scissors, etc) followed by mashing out the muscles. Today I am a bloated sausage! My puffy little fingers can barely type, every piece of clothing that touches my skin feels like a sausage casing! And no, it isn't TOM. Yesterday I had some strawberries, a protein shake, soup chicken soup some baked chicken and half a protein bar. -

I wouldn't say no to some care packages full of green drink powder!! -
I have been doing this now for 2 weeks and the scale is still playing with the same 2 pounds; one day it is 191.2, the next day it is 189.6, etc. etc. I started out high cardio and pilates, then switched it up to weight lifting with intense cardio just for warming up. The carbs stay under 45, the cals under 800 and still, nothing.

Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?
Globetrotter replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am almost 3 years out, have yet to reach goal, surgery weight 294, 18 months later 164 lbs, 9 months after that 189 lbs. Back on low cal trying to get off the regain and keep going to goal of 130. It took me SIX MONTHS to lose the 18 pounds from 183 to 164 and I worked out like a maniac 6 days a week intense weights and cardio, and kept low cal low carb so WHAT THE EFF. -.- -
What do you do at the movies?
Globetrotter replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar free lollipops to give your mouth something to do for an extended time, beef jerky for those who desire chewy, a baggy filled with one serving of flavored almonds for the crunch factor, and if you absolutely must have that salty buttery taste of popcorn - A serving of Buttered Popcorn flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans, they are amazing! -
18 pounds in 6 months. -.-

MY biggest pet peeve on VST, apart from people spelling lose incorrectly (one o, ONE!!) are the humblebraggers. Urgh, it's like jr high bathroom all over again, where a thin girl loudly proclaims herself to be fat and then waits to hear the chorus of "no you're not, you are SO PRETTY!" Our VST version is the humblebragger who talks about being unable to stop losing weight and oh how worried they are! Does anyone know how I can go about cramming in some calories! Then, come to find out, the person is living off of like, a few ounces of protein a day while exercising so duh of course they are still losing weight, and when they get sound advice from posters they have an answer for how that can't work for them. that's when you realize they were just looking for pats and admiration, not help. I've been on VST for 3 years now and I have seen this more than a few times. Who knows, if I ever get skinny maybe I will indulge in a little of it myself but in the mean time, *eye roll*.

Fiddle - I think they have creatine powders, or protein powders that are high in creatine? Butter - I luuuv the foam rollers, but I am deployed and don't have access to that sort of fanciness so it's a tennis ball for me. Back home at the end of a WOD at Crossfit we would take the bars minus weights and start at a joint and roll the bar down the muscle, it was enough to make even the gnarliest dudes whimper but we all kept doing it because of the unbelievable rush/flood of release and euphoria afterward. -
body changes This is not me
Globetrotter replied to brebee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yeah, that's another thing, I'm well over 100 lbs lighter than in my DL photo and it was a terrible pic anyway, yet nobody every doubts its me when I show it at clubs or whatever. I was kinda hoping for somebody to at least do a double take :/ -
Go find it, hunter!
