How was your 5:2 day today?
Globetrotter replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Also, I don't think I will be strong enough to keep from weighing myself! But I have a bra that currently uh.. my cups runneth over So I will use that as a marker since I lose from boobage first -
I don't know what it was, it's called Flagyll and it seems to have done the trick, though my insides are still achey. As for feast day cals, I'm doing 1660, which means I've got about 650 cals to play with for dinner, thinking chicken meatballs and honeydew for dessert!

M2G in my totally non-medical-expert opinion, I think you aren't eating enough. What is your TDEE and BMR? -

Aaargh, I really want to weigh myself! Also, I've got over 660 cals to eat for dinner but it has to be pure 100% protein, as my carb count for the day is already nutso - easily over 70g's! -

Ms Skinniness - did you have fresh batteries in, for this 6 lb miracle? Was the scale on a hard level surface ie, not a carpet? I have been sadly disappointed after momentary joy when these things have interfered. :/ -
Ate 1660 cals yesterday, am in full panic mode

Oh no! Confusion! Which calculator do I trust?? :/ -
Georgia, 16 hour window? What is that? Yesterday was my fast day and as per usual it was a breeze - until work was over and I was alone in my room, then it became a test of will. I only caved slightly, having a tbsp of PB and some dried apple rings, bringing my cals to 682 instead of the under 600 I ought to have done but oh well. Did legs yesterday in the gym and am *OW* waddling like a cowboy today, whimpered when I sat down at my desk! I have discovered that I can't even begin to get in the water on feed days, anybody else notice this? So, because I'm doing ADF, my fast days have become my hydration days. Anybody else?

When I was obese, I was ironically, invisible. Men looked right through me. And if there were men who may have still found me attractive, I still found fault with their attentions, reasoning that they must have a fat fetish which is every bit as objectifying as someone who only dates skinnies, and it is still someone being interested in a superficial aspect of you, not YOU. right? So then I became not-obese, and then I got fit and almost trim (all the excess skin kept me from really looking buff) and suddenly I was visible. Men not only saw me, they pursued me, doggedly and I discoved that this kind of attention is just as saddening/depressing/disappointing as the invisibility was. Because of my armor of obesity, I never had to deal with men trying to get into my pants, and because I never had to deal, I never learned. I know, even if they don't, their hypocrisy. I know they wouldn't be sniffing around so insistently if I were still obese. I want someone who would have wanted me when I was obese, but I didn't want myself when I was like that so, how can I ask that of someone else? It doesn't make sense, it's a psychological hang up I know, but it puts not only them but me in the position of damned if you do, damned if you don't. -

Nikki, I'm sure many many many folks have popped in to read this thread, and have seen what we have suggested and know that it is such a thorough list that there isn't much left to add! -
Is cauliflower really that much better for us than the carb product it is replacing? Has anyone ever tried baked greek yogurt?

Your start date and start weight for the 5:2 method
Globetrotter replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've started a new routine at the gym, focusing solely on muscle-buillding . That, plus a vigorous recommitment to ADR and I have decided to not weigh for 30 days! On the 18th I weighed in at 191.2 My ADR is 1650-1700 norms, 600 or less fasts, my exercise routine is 5 days a week, 30 minutes of max/near max weight lifting and body weight exercises with an arms day, back day, legs day, etc. So, we shall see, wish me luck! -

we say all the time how men are visual creatures, what, and all women everywhere are sightless? Why do they get a pass for making judgement calls with their eyes??????? I was told today that my body gives false advertisement, basically that I look smokin' hot with my curves and muscles, but that it's a horror show when I'm naked. That was crushing. -
Or you can do as I did, go to my local butcher at the co-op, where they offer to deli-slice up their already cooked haunches of meat and poultry etc. There meats were hormone free, grass fed, etc. etc. and they did not use salt in their roasting. But I realize I was very lucky and spoiled to have that as an option.

My labs came back recently as good except low on potassium, I started taking a gummy prenatal vitamin from my local organic co-op, I also take an Omega 3 capsule, probiotic tablets every few days, and throw Barlean's flax blend into my protein shakes. -

It's a feed day and so far I've had a protein-heavy breakfast, somewhat carby lunch, and am about to have a protein shake snack and that brings me to about 1100, leaving me about 550 to play with for dinner. I already know dessert will be fresh watermelon and a homemade fig newton, yum! -
Gained 30 Pounds 3 Years Out
Globetrotter replied to steve411's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just celebrated my 3 yr surgiversary in July. The last post I made above, 16 months ago, I was the fittest I'd been since the age of 15. Immediately after that my life went downhill and for the last 12 months it has been a nonstop **** show of trauma loss and devastation. Needless to say, I gained weight. As good as I look(ed) in the photo I use for my profile pic here, I was even then, still 35 lbs from goal. Now I'm 60 lbs from goal. I did a lot of things wrong. Number one, I was a huge effing hypocrite and never got the mental health help that I told others to get. Number two, I focused on cardio instead of muscle building because I believed all the old wisdom from the 80's. Number three, I allowed starches sugar and white flour carbs back into my diet. Poison and as addictive as cocaine (seriously, they did a study on sugar vs cocaine). So now I am battling regain, still holding out hope for goal acheivment. -
I am ridiculously proud of myself. Would be even prouder if I had managed to go to the gym this morning, but I will do squats and planks and sit ups in my room tonight.

Yeah, my TDEE is just over 1600, at three years out I have yet to reach goal or even an average BMI. -
It was a gargantuan effort, and deeply psychological, but I made it - I finished the day with only 633 cals, phew!! Every single episode of the shows I watched from my hard drive had food scenes! Food was frickin' everywhere!! I ended up not finishing the protein shake and having the double portion of beef jerky. Today is a feed day and for breakfast I had about 4 oz of egg white/ham/sausage/cheese/peppers/onions scramble and a half a raisin bagel with an oz of cream cheese. For lunch I will probably have a big salad with chicken (if they have it) and some caesar dressing and dinner .... who knows, whatever non-fried protein they have!
