I hear you Fiddle, absolutely. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near goal, I am still obese, I have a solid 40 lbs to lose before goal even though I am a vet. It really makes me feel helpless. Today was rest day from Insanity, tomorrow it begins again. Oh and I eat 600 on fast days, on eating days I get more like 1200
-
I mean srsly what the eff, I eat like 600 calories a day!! I've only lost 7 pounds this month!!
-
plus green tea is a natural appetite suppressant.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Globetrotter replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why oh why am I up a pound and a half?!!! I'm seriously considering stopping Insanity, I need to lose weight!!!!!! I'm going to drop my protein slightly and up my carbs ever so little and keep the calories super low even on feed days, and see what happens. Brown - The only way I can make things happen anymore is with laxatives, be they natural herbs or Miralax, triple doses. CGJ - Your description of your relationship with your non-boyfriend is a chapter straight out of my life, I had an identical situation with a much older man who made me feel exactly as you feel. He was truly an addiction, I truly craved him, and when he would call and I would hear his voice, a flood of pleasure rolled over my brain and if a day went by without hearing from him, I was in withdrawal. not good. I know that doing the Insanity is good me emotionally, psychologically, and I am one of the lucky few who gets the endocannabinoid rush, but I will stop if it is halting my weight loss. I am still too far away from goal to level off. Oh and CGJ - I know exactly what you mean about being cared for, I actually enjoyed most of my time when I was medevac'd to Germany for precisely those reasons. It makes me understand how people can become addicted to plastics or develop Munchausens. -
When I don't have a lot of calories left but know I want/need to eat, I stuff myself full of salad greens for the low low price of 20 calories, homemade vinaigrette is another 45 calories.

Best Hot Cocoa Protein Drink
Globetrotter replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
@ Joycecinderella - what is the whole name of this miracle cocoa?? -
@ Butter - I cringed when I saw the pic of your toe, I have been there! Army boots are notorious blister creators. There is this stuff you can pick up at CVS/Walgreens etc. they are little gel pads impregnated with healing salve. @ M2G - I am with you on the "when does it go too far" theme, I am doing Insanity right now and today we had to do these burpees that also included plank jacks while in the plank position. I know my limitations, know that I am just getting back into working out and I had no problem with just doing push ups through that whole set. I'm not there to impress anyone and I need to protect myself. I gain nothing by pushing myself beyond my limit, hurting myself, and then losing time at the gym. @ Chelenka - absolutely vacuuming counts as exercise, on my exercise tracker it even offers "house cleaning" as an option. Update Insanity - Day #5: Today was intense cardio and had I been capable of doing all of it, I doubt I would be capable of typing right now, it was brutal. However, today is the fifth day of Insanity and I notice that I am recovering faster after the workout. Day five of planking challenge, 45s, and day #2 of adding weight lifting after Insanity. oy gevalt. But I have to say how utterly PEEVED I am, because I weighed myself this morning and I am a POUND AND A HALF up, even though my eating is pristine.

Crap! Then I am getting way too much protein! On days that I eat 600 cals, at least 45% of my cals are from protein! But that's keeping me at near 70gs protein, how can I cut out 100 cals of protein when, on such a low cal diet, that is my only source of satiety?? Oh and by the way, I did poop, so, perfect day! Although, today is day #4 of Insanity and I weighed first thing this morning and I was UP A POUND!! $%^&*$!! what the eff. -
I choose my fast days based on my exercise regimen; I am doing the Insanity 60 day challenge and the planking challenge, I fast on the two days a week that I do not do Insanity. I still get all my Protein (60+) on fast days. Usually a Protein shake and a complicated salad and some high Fiber drink supplements.

Day four Insanity: today was a recuperative cardio day but make no mistake, there was still plenty of sweating and swearing and afterward I was shaking and wobbly! I also got on the scale this morning and was UP A POUND. #%^^&**#!$!! I eat pristine so what the eff. Still fighting that head rush when I stand up but it didn't get to black out level today. Oh, I also started weights afterward today. Oh and Butter - run barefoot or in the "toe" shoes, no blisties!

30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?
Globetrotter replied to gamergirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have to plank barefoot otherwise I slip and hurt my back. Planking today, also Day 4 Insanity, thankfully it was a recuperative session but I was still quivering like Jello at the end! I think I'm going to up the ante on the planking though - bring each knee up to each armpit. I might halve the daily times for the challenge but I need compound exercises. -

Besides my regular duties, I am also a Contracting Officer's Representative, and am responsible for the cultural expert contractor we use. I have been trying to get his insurance to renew for about 4 months, and they kept giving me the run-around but I was persistent and didn't give up and it paid off -

Feed - I am going to write down your post, maybe even paint it calligraphy style, because that was beautiful and healing <3 There seems to be a lot of catharsis going on here and that is wonderful, the support is also so healing. Speaking of which, major shout outs must go forth, to Brown, Sar, and OD - I received the care package today and ladies, I am overwhelmed. Thank you thank you THANK YOU, and those words are puny for what I am feeling. I will start reading the Minding my Mitochondria book tonight and I've already made a vinaigrette from your ingredients for tonight's salad. Things have beel pretty blue lately, feeling very down in the dumps, but with your help, I have had the happiest day I've had since my initial diagnosis! Day #3 Insanity workout - didn't black out, didn't throw up. Only came close to blacking out once. I think from now on I will only fast on non insanity days, it doesn't seem healthful to fast and do such intense cardio. Thoughts? I've also decided to ignore the fat content counter on my tracker, I know that the fats I'm eating, olive oil, coconut oil, are healthful fats and particularly important for my condition. I've had a major victory at work today, which added to the awesomeness of the day, yay! Now if I could just poop, the day would be perfect!! -
Compass, for the people who have made a complete dedication to 5:2, they have broken their stalls. but again, this is an old-timer's veterans method, stay with your Dr's recommendations if you are in or around your first year.

Please Help Me Wrap My Head Around This...
Globetrotter replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
mybodygallery was discouraging for me, because when I typed in my numbers people who absolutely look nothing like me popped up, we're talking washboard stomachs, matchstick arms. And the opposite too, women who looked close to me, but who claimed they were in like a size 8. -
30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?
Globetrotter replied to gamergirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I completely forgot to plank yesterday so today will be day 2 of planking, day 3 of insanity. -
I consider alternative eating to be whatever deviates from the SAD - Standard American Diet, and also isn't just a meat or no meat thing. Paleo, Raw, Nourishing Traditions, AIP, Wahl's Protocol, etc.
-
Day #3 Insanity - I did not throw up. I also didn't black out. I'm sure that's true regarding extreme low calorie and cardio BUT, people are constantly talking about calories in/energy out regarding weight loss so yeah I'm gonna keep my calories below my expenditure.
-
It seems that way, today was only day two plus it was backward - yesterday we did cardio and today we did our intake "fit test", because the guy running it didn't have that dvd yesterday. So anyway, that's all I've seen so far and I don't know anything about Insanity so am going into this blissfully ignorant. I'm just worried that doing cardio will slow down my weight loss. Example, I only ate like 500 cals yesterday but when I weighed myself this morning I was "up" .6 of a pound! grrrr.
-
Day Two, Insanity: I don't think there is any weight lifting in Insanity, is there? I'm a little worried that cardio will slow down my weight loss, as we all know that it is really weight lifting/building muscle that speeds up the metabolism and burns fat. Insanity is gonna hurt though, that's for sure.

I am going to start the "Insanity" workout tomorrow, in the format of a new "class" at my gym. I have heard of it, but never done it. I am very VERY out of shape, haven't been to the gym in months, but once upon a time I did Xfit. Can anyone prepare me for the Insanity?

Lawyers cost money that I don't have. Also, is disability really enough to live on? Can a person be on disability and also have a job? I may have to go back to Germany, if I do that, they will definitely send me home from there. Well, send me to the US, whereupon I will be homeless ... I'm painting, a lot, as a way of keeping my hands busy instead of eating. Feed, you never said whether you've had your work in galleries on the coast? Did day 1 of Insanity today, and am also going to do the planking challenge. I worry that exercising will actually slow down my weight loss ... -

Globetrotter replied to gamergirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Today was day #1 of the Insanity workout (fml!) so I might as well plank too, in for a penny ... GG - did you notice any physical changes from planking? -
Did the first day of Insanity today, discovered that it is aptly named. Also, the guy couldn't find the starting vdv, where you assess your fitness level etc. so we jumped right in with cardio and I almost blacked out 3 times. I'm going to go look at this planking challenge and if it is something I can do in my room, I'm in!
