    Feeling really tired.

I think that you may be right about the b12. If I do it every other day even the high dose, I can tell. If I miss vitamins the next day I feel sluggish. Every doctor has a different regimen, but I guess it is a little trial and error for everyone. Today is a tired day. Yesterday was good.. I took all of the vitamins etc today and hope tomorrow is back to normal. Thanks again everyone. I am happy to say That I have made it to the 180's which I haven't seen in almost 9 years. That makes me happy.!:biggrin0:
  2. Think of yourself and your well being. If others are not capable of understanding ,then you don't need to share it with them.. The forum can be your support line. You deserve to be healthy and happy. This is one time when it should be an "all about me" .Good luck! Oops almost forgot. A positive attitude on your part is all you need to succeed. You may have to avoid some people for awhile. At some point, they will get it and be happy for you.

    Feeling really tired.

I decided to take my multivitamin twice a day and b12 every other day. I am having a terrible time stomaching the calcium citrate and am heading to the store to find another brand. I am feeling much better and oddly enought the scale shows I dropped a couple of pounds. Maybe I was healing or something..The body is a complicated piece of machinery. I guess you have to experiment with the vitamins and when to take them. I have found that I can tolerate foods quite well just small amounts. Maybe I feel better because I am getting good nutrition in small quanity versus trying to drink my protein. I had two boiled eggs yesterday 1 lean Hebrew National and some cream of mushroom soup 98%ff and a couple of bites of cottage cheese. I felt good and the scale moved.. Woohoo. I am feeling a bit tired today, but I have a labor intensive job (pet grooming) and 3 children to take care of at the same time. I think the fatigue today is normal. Thank you everyone for all your info. It really does help. :lol0:

    Share your surgeon!

Dr Nicholson in Dallas has done a tremendous amount of surgeries. If you type in Dr Nicholson bariatric in any search engine it should take you to his site. His staff is amazing. Self pay was 12,200. It pays for surgery, up to two nights in the hospital pain meds while there etc. I believe it even covers follow up visits and and all preop work. It is all listed on his site. Good luck!:001_tt2:

Thanks for everyone's input. I am taking a gummy adult vitamin but it seems to upset my stomach and cause the its coming back to you feeling. So, today I chewed a bariatric advantage chewable and it took an hour for my stomach to clam down. I thought I was going to be sick and now all day I can feel my stomach. Up to this point I was never really able to feel it. I did take the b12 and one calcium citrate so far. The calcium citrate is suddenly causing me nausea too. I never had an upset stomach except in the hospital.. Today is exactly 4 weeks. Is it possible to become more sensitive? Is my stomach healing and getting sensation? Anyone have this experience? Is it the vitamins?

    Feeling really tired.

I tried adjusting my b12 and I did take some iron. I have been taking the b12 daily instead of twice a week and I am going to alternate taking the iron every other day. I have been know to become anemic at random times. I felt much better today. I am terrible about protein. I know I need to get more in. I ate some cottage cheese today a yogurt and had a 25 gram isopure drink which gags me. I also had a few bites of beef jerky (pure beef no additives) I have been feeling very thirsty and drinking tons of water but never feeling like I get enough. I have had headaches this week waking me at night. I assume the dry NM climate is partly to blame.I am going to ask my primary doc to run some blood test and make sure everything is ok. I am going to try and work really hard towards protein. I love pinto beans. I guess that might have to be my main staple. I have chocolate, banana and isopure pineapple banana orange...if anyone has a recipe that I can tolerate- please share. I have also discovered I have food allergies. Some of the yogurts give me a headache..Geez...Anyway..thanks for any thougts and words of wisdom..I sure need them.
  8. It was my understanding that the pre op diet is to prepare you and to allow the liver to shrink which makes it easier and safer for the doc to do the sleeve. That is what Dr. Nicks office explained to me. I had to do everything over the phone and via email. I asked so many questions I felt bad for bothering them. I didn't think it was truly about the weight loss at all. Just preparing you and your tummy. I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow and wish I could find some sleevers here in New Mexico. If anyone comes across someone please let me know. Zephra don't stress, you are doing what you should be doing. That alone can stall any kind of weight loss.

    Can I do a poll?

I am confused. My doctor didn't give an option he said after the swelling went down the stomach would hold between 4-6 ounces.. So what does that equal.. I did research but never heard of the sized until now.. Can someone share with me?:thumbup1:

    Just beginning,

Devo, I had surgery the same day as you and with the same doc. Forest Park. I was not prepared for the side pain. It still bugs me but not as bad. Oddly I too have lost about the same amount of weight. 16 pounds to date. Dr. Nick was awesome. I am in NM so I wont be doing an office visit until October. I guess I am a lightweight as well. I started the pre-op diet at 221. By the time I had surgery I was 209 and today I am 193. I have arthritis in my back and feet and hope this will help. Good luck with you journey. I am sure we will all reach our goals.
