    August Sleeves!!

Good luck lunarose! We will be thinking of you! Check back in soon to let us know how you are doing.
  3. I hope you start feeling better each day! (((hugs)))
  4. I must have been lucky as well! Almost no gas pain but I did do a lot of walking. For the first 3 days I could feel some gurgling but no real pain.
  5. Hey everyone! Thanks for the well wishes! My surgery went well and every day I'm getting stronger, feeling better and it is getting easier to sip, sip, sip! The first 3 days were the toughest with soreness, gas and pressure in my chest when taking very small sips of liquid. Much better now! It was great getting in a bunch of naps too!

    August Sleeves!!

Good luck to all of the remaining August Sleevers! Thoughts, prayers and best wishes to all of you! Be confident in your decision and the gift you are giving yourselves. I'm 4 days post op and I'm feeling stronger every day. Tonight I took my 11 year old school shopping at the mall. I gave her a 2 store limit but I can't even believe I'm able to do that yet! I bought a SilveRado charm bracelet today and I'm going to add a charm for every 10 pounds lost. Looking forward to a full bracelet!

    All of a sudden, I'm a wimp?

Tiff, My husband is still sitting while watching me lift 55 pounds of dog food! But my surgery was 8/17/10 so we will see if there are changes ahead. I can't even imagine him treating me as if I were fragile! It sounds like there has been several changes in your lives and as long as you are communicating your thoughts and feelings you are on the right track. It may take a little while for the adjustments to feel just right.
  8. I'm so excited my surgery is in morning! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I feel very calm and relaxed right now. I think participating in this forum has helped me so much and I appreciate all of the experiences everyone has shared. :thumbup1: I know this forum will be an excellent resource post op!
  9. Most think I'm out on vacation but I've told a few I am having surgery. Most have not asked what kind of surgery and wished me well. For the 2 that did, I just said female stuff and it immediately stopped them from asking more questions!

    Tomorrow is Sleeve Day!

Hello all and thanks for the well wishes! The surgery went well and I was released from the hospital last night. The hardest part for me was no liquids the day of the surgery. Yesterday they ran a GI test and watched the liquids move through my new stomach and confimed there were no leaks. Today I'm finding I still need pain medication to make me feel comfortable. I'm just walking and sipping liquids and I don't feel hungry one bit! Tip: A few drops of peppermint oil on a paper towel helped me with nausea. My doctor had recommended it and I'm glad I had it. Dr. Garth Davis was my surgeon and he has a very helpful book called, The Expert's Guide to Weight Loss Surgery. @TNT- my consultation was June 10th, insurance approval on June 28th and the surgery schedule was pretty full so my surgery date was August 17th. It seemed like a long time to wait for a surgery date but I will say it helped me mentally prepare!
  11. In Houston, Texas. I'm getting ready to pack my bag for the hospital! I'm so excited!

  12. I'm right behind you as I will be sleeved in Houston on the 17th! Good luck to you!

  13. My date is the 17th. Just looking to establish a support group with my fellow August Sleevers! Good luck to you!

  14. My surgery date is the 17th. I'm sending you a friend request if you want to expand your support group!

  15. Mine was similar to an interview that lasted 1 1/2 hours. She wanted to understand why I thought I had a weight problem, what got me there, my outlook on surgery, etc... She told me afterwards that the goal was to be sure that I understood the surgery is only a tool and also to confirm I have a solid support group. You will do fine! I'm in Houston. Who is your surgeon?:frown1:
  16. Glad to read your surgery went well! Mine is the 17th and I can't wait! Would you care to keep in touch since our surgeries are close together? It would be great to have a support group!

  17. How did you surgery go? Are you doing well? Mine is the 17th and I'm very excited.

  18. Sounds great to me! The more friends and support the better!

  19. Hi Andreanoelle,

Are you ready to get sleeved? How are you doing on the liquid diet? My surgery is Tuesday and I can hardly wait! I've been so excited and a little worried at the same time. I can honestly say that the worries and fears are greatly diminishing! Yea! I'm comfortable with my surgeon and I'm really beginning to visualize myself thin. My surgeon says that his patients that are excited before surgery and can't wait to get to the operating room tend to have great success because they are determined and confident in their decision to become healthy. I want to be like that! My liquid diet is going well and I've endured several meals with friends/family at restaurants while they ate some of my favorite foods (Mexican food and pizza). It has felt good to stay strong and not be tempted. The countdown is on!

    Hello Buddies!

Tomorrow I start my pre-op diet and will be sleeved in Houston, Texas by Dr. Garth Davis on August 17th. I'm looking for support from those already on the losers bench or someone to chat with who is at the same stage of this wonderful journey. I have great support from my family but think a sleeve buddy would be fun! Thanks everyone!:confused1:

I start my pre op diet tomorrow

You will do fine! I started my pre-op diet this past Tuesday and the first couple of days were the hardest. I've lost 10 pounds in 6 days so I'm excited to see how much I will lose before surgery. This weekend I went a Mexican restaurant and had Water while my family ate fajitas, chips & queso, etc... I felt very strong for being able to remain focused on my goal. Great results are right around the corner for both of us! Good luck to you fellow Texan!
