I gained 10lbs when i went on a food binge for about a month before surgery. I also gained some stretch marks on the outside of my arms (not inner arms). Now I regret my food funeral

Oh hell guys. My Mom bought these for me and they are unsupportive as a mofo. They are like a really flimsy sports bra. Stay away!

Noticing Excess Skin After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
SouthernSleever replied to Sparkles01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't believe there's anything you can do but plastic surgery. I do think it will firm up after some time but never go back to the way it would look on someone who was never obese. I've seen some people who are young or who only have about 60-80 lbs to lose. Their skin bounces back. Mine...not so much. -

Things I Wish I Could Do (pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery)
SouthernSleever replied to ShoeLover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could not before but now I have Jumped in feet first and took a rowing (skulling) class. I wasn't the fattest person or worried about tipping the boat. Also took a hooping class and loved it I take baths all the time because my WHOLE body goes underwater and doesn't touch the sides at all I shave everything a lot more, it's easier to reach and isn't a hassle I cross my legs all the time, it's just comfortable, and they fold over eachother perfectly I am not nervous about meeting new people, I go out a lot, talk to strangers. I don't feel the need to be so confrontational or loud. I meet people's eyes and smile a lot I love shopping I buy clothes online because everything looks good on me where as nothing used to I don't mind being in pictures anymore I will never wear a swimsuit without issue. My skin hasn't bounced back and it probably never will. I will need surgery for that. That was one of my dreams but it's okay. If I do have surgery i'll have breast aug and tummy tuck so my thighs and arms will still be a mess. Oh well -
Frustrated after Gastric Sleeve Surgery
SouthernSleever replied to Shae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's what I do. I don't bring crap in the house. I portion out my foods, eat until I'm full and then throw the rest away asap. I do NOT count calories, I do not journal my food. I am trying to teach myself to eat when I'm hungry, not at set times, and to not eat when it's out of boredom or to deal with feelings. It sounds like you are emotionally eating. Stay off the scale for a few days if you need to but get your mind in a healthy loving place. -
If I can add a little recipe to your thread here. If you like chicken wings you can eat this during the mushy phase. Take chicken meat and cook it in a crockpot in chicken broth for 6 hours on med/high until it falls apart with fork. (you can skip this step by just getting rotssory (sp) chicken from the store) Take 1 part butter and 1 part hot sauce and sautee in a sauce pan for about 1 minutes stirring. Pour over the shredded chicken and top with bluecheese or ranch. If you are on mushy stage cook the chicken even longer.

Questions For Dr. Aceves' Patients
SouthernSleever replied to SippNSotaGirl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My phone worked but I think I was charged extra. See about getting skype if you are bringing a lap top. If you give the nurses a number to call I just know that they would. They are so kind and sweet and they will do ANYTHING to help you out. -
So........ I Have A Dilema And Need Input....

Watch him close for blood clots so soon after surgery you might even ask Dr about a blood thinner. Other than that I felt fine however you may want to put it off a month just to be sure. -
Hair Loss After Vsg
SouthernSleever replied to dominique's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Vit D has always been low since the surgery other than that everything has been fine. She wants my good cholesterol up and bad down but it was low/high before surgery and has since improved. -
Breastfeeding With Sleeve
SouthernSleever replied to ATLGirl's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I did read about that and asked my OB about this she said the nutrition in breastmilk trumps any "toxins" that you could emit to your baby by simply losing weight. There have been several reports of actual metal toxins found in formula not to mention plastics leeching from bottles. Back to topic my OB said "Does that even sound right? A mother naturally loses weight after having a baby, do you think nature would make it to where her new baby would be ingesting toxins?" Both of mine are weaned now but I nursed my eldest after my vsg and he's doing amazingly. Had NO issues what-so-ever! -

Miscarried. And Heartbroken :-( How To Get Back On Track?

Start by making sure you are eating enough protein and veggies. Pregnancy and miscarriage is hard on a body and soul. Take care of yourself first and foremost. <hugs> -

How Soon Off Of Ppi's/antacids After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?!
SouthernSleever replied to mnbsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped about 10 months out. I still get reflux sometimes but I follow certain rules for myself: No eating or drinking 1-2 hours before bed. No laying down after eating/drinking Don't over eat so that acid bubbles up in your throat. -

Size Goal! Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery Almost 14 Months
SouthernSleever posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Guess who just bought her first pair of size 6 jeans? THIS GIRL! I'm so excited! I went to Marshalls last night to find some shoes but I had to try on at least 16 outfits first and a few bras (more on that later). I was specifically looking for a pair of skinny jeans so I could wear my boots with them. I grabbed 1 pair of 6s and 4 pairs of 8s. One pair of the 6s from the Limited was so tight but dangit I sucked in and buttoned those suckers. The 8s were all too big except for one pair so I tried them on again. They fit everywhere but had a little stretch to them. I was thinking maybe they were a 9-10 and I was going to see if I could find the same cut in a smaller size but NOPE upon reading the tag in the pants, instead of the little plastic piece on the hanger I find they are a 6! ME? A 6! Hells yeah! This is the size I always said I didn't want to be. You know...that crap that spills out of your mouth when you deny wanting to be skinny? "I'm going trying all the deserts. I never wanted to be a size 6 anyway!" Size 6 was me saying that the person was probably anorexic and way too thin. It was a word to describe a size I couldn't ever fathom myself being. Here I am though! I'm at 158.6lbs down from 282 (highest) or 271 (surgery weight). I'm 3.6 lbs from being "normal" and 8.6 lbs from goal weight. I'm so excited! I'm now looking for plastics. #1 Tummy tuck panni removal #2 Boob job! Speaking of boobs...had to find a new bra last night. Preop bra was 44/42 E/F depending on bra and now I'm 36 C/D depending on bra again. The thing is, there's no filler just skin. I could fill in for National Geographic photos for real. I need to find a bra with a little push up at the bottom but still doesn't have me spilling/puckering out the top or sides. Getting my hair dyed on Saturday and going to an "ugly christmas sweater" part that night. I'll be sure to post lots of pics as my avatar was 16lbs heavier than I am now. BTW got out of Marshalls with 1 bra, 2 sweaters, a pair of jeans, 2 sexy undies (you're welcome hubby), and a godiva dark chocolate bar for under 70 bucks. SCREW YOU LANE BRYANT! -
