You can buy it canned or bottled at most health food stores like Earthfare or krogers. You can also buy the coconut and just drink the water/milk from the middle. If you get a fresh coconut (with the green shell not brown) it will have a lot more nutrients in it. A neat fact about coconut water is that you can subsutute it for blood in transfusions and coconut is the only food you can live solely off of. I used it after the home birth of my son to gain back energy. Add a slice of lime when it's chilled and it's pretty good . -

Anyone Else feel Stupid?
SouthernSleever replied to thinoneday's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't gotten my sleeve yet but wanted to throw in my 2cents on some of the previous post. As I recall carbs have a lot to do with taking oxygen to the brain so maybe that might be why you feel a little stupid. Forgive me if that isn't exact, it's been 5 years since nursing school. Also for the person having trouble with Whey protein try goat's milk/cheese. We try not to eat cow's products around here but goat's milk is very good for you and easy for your body to process. -
What great progress you are having! :biggrin0:

That's so awesome! I can't wait to write a post like yours! -
I'm finding I'm getting bored with the existing content as we are almost through ICC. I'm still on it a lot though for the social interaction and commitments to lead raids. This is the first MMORPG I've played, infact I haven't played anything other than this and SIMS/ViceCity on playstation a long time ago.

SouthernSleever replied to springlife's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I just read an article in 2001's Reader's Digest about how Vitmamins really don't help at all (other than Vit D and folic acid) and can sometimes hurt. I haven't read anything more recent but the studies they quoted were significant in size and number. -
Glad to hear it! :scared0:

Southern Sleevers?
SouthernSleever replied to SouthernSleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How exciting! I'm in East TN, right outside of Knoxville. Keep us updated on your surgery, I'd love to know how it went! -
I think you are sterotyping a bit. I go to a Unitarian Universalist Church where we do a lot of the same things. We have potlucks, hikes, and do lots and LOTS of volunteering/social action. We have ppl from all faiths but most are Athiest. We started going for a place to get that community feeling and get active in our community. You can see if there is a UU church in your community. I think vounteering regardless of if you go to church or not is a great way to meet people. Best of luck!

UHC Choice Plus- Administaff no Morbid Obeasity Services
SouthernSleever replied to daniellep's topic in Insurance & Financing
Danielle, Please let me know what you find out. I have UHC Choice Plus as well and when I called they said it was not covered for me either. The girl on the phone suggested I appeal it but I'm not sure it's even possible to appeal if it was never covered in the first place. I'm curious to know what you find out. <fingers crossed> -
Getting a lil bit discouraged....my insurance provider...
SouthernSleever replied to ~Proud~Mommy~'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Terri's right. Hubby's work didn't choose that to be included but they woman at the insurance said for me to appeal anyway so perhaps there is hope. -

This is who I have too and wls is not covered under my plan. I asked the lady on the phone, "Is there anything I can do?" She said, "Write an appeal, have your Dr write an appeal, and just keep appealing." So that's what I'm about to get started on. I'll let you know if I have any progress!
