Love it! I used to have my hair those colors. Your hair looks so thick!

    Back on the fence

I think with the amount you have to lose (the same as me) the traditional sleeve would be better. I'm not sure I've seen anyone lose more than 60lbs with plication or at least not that many.

    Breastfeeding With Sleeve

There is NO REASON to stop nursing. I spoke to Dr Aceves who is a highly regarded Mexican Surgeon. If you know about the community in which he lives and works they know a helluva a lot more about breastfeeding than we do. Dr Aceves said it is great to continue breastfeeding after surgery. All the drugs will be out of your body. Many many women around the world live on way less calories per day than we will be consuming. Dr Aceves said many of his patients continue to breastfeed and do fine. I also talked to my OBGYN who delievered my first son and who is the head over the birthing center here in knoxville now. She checked to make sure lovenox was fine and said it is perfectly fine to continue nursing. It will not negatively affect my health or my son's. My PCP said the same thing. I had my surgery in October and here it is January. I've continued to nurse and haven't had any problems.

    Something nagging me

Most adults are lactose intollerant anyway we just don't realize it. Skin problems, gas, runny nose we dont' associate. Not many of us 30 year olds were meant to be still nursing (much less nursing from a cow) by design. Goat's milk is MUCH easier to tollerate as it is very close to human milk. If you can tollerate goat's milk you can tollerate goat's cheese and usually yogurt is easy on the body. Check out Coconut milk also for fluids. Beans are an excellent source of protien and you may consider adding either foul or fish into your diet. I was a veg head for years in my teens but added back in f&f because I was lacking in protien. You can also put some Peanut Butter in shakes or peanut flour. Where there's a will, there's a way.

The good thing about being a slow loser

I read an article from a Doctor about why stalls happen. I'd assume (you know, it makes me an ass) that if we all up our Water intake and that would move things along a bit. Anyway the jist of what he said was that the body has about 8 liters of water on reserve. When we don't drink enough fluids the body uses these reserves over a week or so. You will see weight drop fast then because your body is dropping pounds but not storing water. Once your reserves are low your body will start holding onto water so while it builds up the liters of water you may still be droping pounds of fat but it will not be reflected on the scale because the water. That makes sense to me and also accounts for the sometimes gains I see even though I know I can't gain on 800 calories. It also accounts for the sudden drops in weight. Would be interested to see what would happen if we all posted our daily water intake and left everything else the same. If we even upped our water to see if it makes a difference. On a side note I dropped a pound yesterday and I've hit my first 50 gone! WOOT!
  7. Eureka- My youngest son is like yours. He will have two bites of cake and annouce he is done. For the other 3 of us you are done with cake when there is no more. I believe so much of how/what/how much we eat is genetic.
  8. It is never easy and I miss those things you just mentioned. I have quit and started so many times I can't count. I started smoking when I was 17. Quit when I was 20 for 6 months. Quit when I was 24 (and pregnant) for 5 years and started again in june/julyish. I had to quit again before my surgery in October. It is one of the most difficult addictions to break of my life. I will say this though I have thought of smoking once since surgery. That was on New Years Eve when I had a glass of wine and saw someone smoking outside. The longer you are past it, the easier it is.

The good thing about being a slow loser

Don't stress sleeve4me and sleevesearch. You guys are lightweights and have 1/2 as much weight to lose so if you doubled your pounds lost you would look like superstars, which you are ya know!

    REGRET

Same, Sparkle. I wish I would have known about this surgery in my teens or twenties. OH how my life would have changed. I have always had a great business mind and I fall into leadership positions but was scared to go to the big business school around here because you have to dress up in business attire everyday as it counts for a grade. To do that while obese would have been way to expensive and I know I have faced prejudices in the work place for my weight. Not only has the sleeve given me hope for being healthier. Next year I am applying to business school.
  12. I have been so focused on this surgery and losing weight that I talk about it to my hubby all.the.time. Even to my Mom. I never put myself down like "I'm so fat. I hate being fat. Look at this fat stomach." Nothing like that but I comment "When I get skinny or I've lost X lbs" so now my 5 year old has been saying things like. "Mom my belly is fat. I eat too many sweets." "She's fat she needs your surgery, Mom." Not in a mean way but in a helpful, you should go tell her how much you love your surgery kinda way. He eats like me, and has cravings like I did so I expect he will have the same problems. We eat healthy and now I dont buy any sweets for inside the home. I'm worried about how this affects him so I have quit talking about it. I see him step on the scale quite a bit even though he has no idea what it means or says.

Pros and Cons of having surgery in Mexico

I'm real sure her friend who went to Mexico came back with some organs missing. I quit after 3 years because I was pregnant with my first son and the hospital I did clinicals in (common in a lot of hospitals) didn't chart the patient correctly and had me tending to a patient with shingles for a 12 hr shift without telling me till afterwords. I had never had chicken pox and was in my first trimester. So I dropped out with 1 semester to go. Last straw in a long line of messed up stuff they do in hospitals. My panties aren't in a wad, but thanks I hadn't heard that in about 10 years.

Pros and Cons of having surgery in Mexico

Yeah, I get that. I did 3 years in nursing school and this kind of attitude really pisses me off. It's lumping a whole group of people with one ignorant statement. My PCP can control migraines but that doesn't excuse her to make bs comments.
  17. I went back to work as a housekeeper at 2 weeks and it was a little too soon. Kept getting dizzy when I would bend over. Went back at 3 weeks out and was fine. I was moving and working about 5-6 hours at a time.

Pros and Cons of having surgery in Mexico

That doesn't tell me anything bad about surgeons in Mexico it says tons about your PCP though. I wouldn't let a idiot like that draw my blood.

Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?

I don't ever remember fitting into a size 8 or 10 so I would be so happy to get to either of those. I wore 18s in high school and 12/14/16 I think I missed size 8/10 completely (rapid weight gain after losing our house to a fire). I'm not too concerned with weight like you said as long as the scale number is going down

The good thing about being a slow loser

I seem to loose a big chunk, like 8lbs gain 2 back, then stall for 3 weeks. : / I thought I was a fast loser by dropping 30lbs in the first month but hey I'm happy. I have .2 of a pound and I"ll be -50lbs since October 3rd. Wewt! I dont know if there is actually any basis in these but i hope being a slow loser will Make my clothes last longer Make my weight stay gone longer Make it where I won't gain once I go into maintence jumping from either very small calories or no carb to a reg diet help with skin sagginess Keep my bones strong.

    HELP PLEASE !

Dr Aceves is 8750 and you WILL NOT FIND A BETTER TEAM! He's amazing. The hospital is private and so clean, much cleaner than the US. You don't hear about him having leaks or not taking care of his patients like you do some of the 5k Drs. You just can't go wrong with him.

Another pair of dress pants bite the dust...

Congrats Angie! I remember your posts from when I first started researching this surgery. I always found them honest and encouraging. Happy New Year to you too, hon!

    REGRET

I've not had one moment of regret. If I don't lose another pound I will be disapointed but not regret my surgery or the 10k I spent out of pocket. My recovery was easy. I'm almost 3 months out and .2 lbs away from losing 50lbs. I feel much more in control over my eating. I only really struggle around the time of my period and it's having two peice of choclate struggle not a whole box of cookies struggle.

    Breakfast, Lunch and Protein

I try to keep a little carbs in my morning breakfast but here's what I had this morning. 1/2 a piece of turkey sausage 1 egg 1/4 a piece of toast with butter. The lunch I had yesterday was 3 baked chicken nuggets and 1 french fry dinner 3 chicken wings with blue cheese Snacks 1 oat bar glass of protien chocolate drink (not a shake exactly)
