Catholic Sleevers Please!

You could always do the charting method. Tells you what days you are fertile on and what days it is unlikely to concieve on. -
We went to buffett the other day. pizza place here called Snappy Tomatoe. Anyhow I was shocked at how much people were eating. Just tonight I was thinking, as I was eating my 3 chicken wings, how I used to order a double order of fries, a piece of texas toast, and 5 chicken tenders, 24oz sweet tea and still have room for Cookies.

NSV shout outs
SouthernSleever replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have a couple to share today. I went to Ross last night to pick up some sheets. No sheets but I did find a matching Bra and Panties set. My 11 year anniversary is on the 21st of Feb and for the first time I can wear matching bra and panties. Pretty ones, sexy ones! I went from a 42 DDD to a 38D and get this, the price was 6.99 for the bra and 2.99 for the panties. NEVER have I spent so little on a bra before. My other NSV was today I had a hard day at work so I came home and go in the tub. While relaxing I relized I don't touch the sides of the tub anymore at all. Woooot! -
I'd let him explore his fears. What if something happened.... Explore that question even talking about what if you died. Like rootman mentioned what if you got very skinny....what would happen. Talk about all these questions a million times if it takes that. At least he's having a dialog with you on it. If he didnt' care he wouldn't ask questions. I understand you aren't getting the support you need but we are here for you. As far as going for sex, ummm, I don't know about that. Maybe he just wanted to be done with that convo and be close to you. Good luck and keep us updated. I find having Drs in the family they are THE most difficult/stubborn/hardheaded.

The family went out to eat last night at Mimi's Cafe. I chose there because I really wanted some good Soup. So we get there and they bring the bread basket, I had a nibble of the sweet bread and ordered a pom/lemonade. Now my hubby doesn't share his food. He just doesn't. He doesn't want a bite of anyone elses but he is very....odd about his food. What he orders is what he eats and he always eats all of it. So sharing with him is out of the picture. The kids meals were corndogs, Pasta, pizza, yuck. All of the small meals were fried or pasta, neither which sit well with me. I ended up ordering the Clam Chowder. Once everyone's food gets there and I taste my soup I totally don't want it. I end up bitting the bullett and ordering the petiti sirloin with asaragus (YUM) only to eat about 2 pieces of asparagus and 3 bites of steak. I brought it all home but none of what I got, aside from the soup, heats well. My dinner ended up being over 20 bucks for basically about a cup of food and none of it is really any good for leftovers. How do you handle eating out?

4 Months Post Op -- So far so good!!!
SouthernSleever replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You are hawt! You look so much thinner than your last update and I think that was just a month ago! -
I had steak at about 6 weeks out. I never have any problems and it always sits well for me. I"m going to ask if I can just order the meat and not any sides. That would be perfect for me!

I hate to be a downer or anything but it seems like Plication patients aren't losing the weight they had hoped, are still very hungry, and I guess from your post can still get leaks. Now I'm not trying to be a B and say that their surgery isnt' working but seems like it isn't working for them like the real sleeve is. -

So lost in regular women's clothing!
SouthernSleever posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went shopping a couple days ago. My undies that I got at Lane Bryant 14/16 were getting baggy and even though I don't buy a lot of clothes on my way down I do treat myself to good undies. So we went to LB and that's the lowest size they carry. I tried on a pair of 14s and they were [ ] close to fitting. So I will be sized out of LB soon. We went to Target and I was able to shop in regular womens OH THE SELECTION! I'm lost. Really lost. I have found I have no fashion sense. In LB or the plus size section it's what fits, isn't insanly expensive, and doesn't have puffy paint/mirrors on it. That narrows it down to about 3 items and I pick whatever's in black and is slimming. Done. But in regular womens.....my god there are a lot of choices. And I feel so odd, like I shouldn't be there. Like everyone is looking at me just waiting for me to realize I'm in the wrong section of the store. Just to think about going to the mall. Before I could shop at Torrid and department stores plus section (but I didn't) so it was Torrid then leave. Now there are millions of stores. Which am I too old to shop in? Can I buy stuff at Victoria's secret? Do they size you without your bra on. So many questions and wonders. -

My Mom bought me a 38 DDD today and it fit so well. I was a 42DDD I looked on VS website and I see they carry that size but I'll have to check out a store. My boobs kinda puddle in the bottom of my bra now : / I hope they have puddle holders. -
I've found that the sleeve has made me be more aware of the food than before. It isn't like I wasn't aware of food, heck that's all I thought about. But I would mindlessly eat and eat and eat never really enjoying the food or tasting it. It was just a way to shut off or numb my brain. I didn't care the times of day or what I was drinking with my meal. Now I have to be aware to get good nutrition. To eat several times a day or I'll forget to eat at all. I eat slowly and chew well. To get whatever I want to drink before eating. To stop eating or drinking 90 minutes before bed or I will be up with heartburn all night. To never eat before I lay down. Not to overdo it on carbs or sweets especially when I'm out since it makes me sick. To put my fork down between bites. When we go out, I order the best thing on the menu. What looks like it taste the best instead of volume. My whole family eats better now. I don't enjoy eatting out much. Oh and I love soups! How has beeing sleeved changed eating for you?

I wish we had a Macy's here but we don't. I need to go get sized for a bra. My boobs are definatly droopy so there'd be no way to measure them w/o a bra on. I'd get a 38 Long and flat if that were the case. Gap has some nice clothing for I think about any age and banana Republic but they can be quite pricy. I know I've gone with a 25 year old very well dressed friend to those stores and also my 60 year relative who is a business woman. I don't know about their size though. LL bean is another you can check out and maybe Eddie Bauer? Something funny I was also thinking of when I read this. I've always been the odd girl (Piercings, dyed hair, outrageous clothing) but now that I'm losing weight I don't find myself attracted to mainly all odd styles. I think before it was "Notice that I'm odd not that I'm fat" and now I just don't care. Helluva a change being I'm 32. : / -

Question for the Ladies?
SouthernSleever replied to MommyTawnie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine are turning into puddles in the cup of my bra. I've always had saggy boobs. My mom never told me to wear a bra a lot so through my teens and early twenties most of the time I never wore a bra just like a light sports bra thing (no support) and I've had boobs since the 3rd grade. The way they are going I can imagine they will looking like icing tubes : / -
I should've never left the VSG forum....DS people scare me :(
SouthernSleever replied to brandynd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my best friends had DS and that was the absolute correct surgery for her. She likes to eat a lot of food and doesn't want to restrict her diet. I and another of her friends had the VSG and I am sure that it will be the best choice for us. We have less to loose than she. If she were to regain her weight in no way would I be unsupportive or say she should have done X. I would hope she would be the same way toward me. Maybe this surgery won't work for me maybe I will regain, there is no way to tell. I am a food addict and I'm of the opinion that I will take smaller steps to help with my addiction than to dive in head first and deal with DS complications. One of the clients I clean for, her daughter had a ds and lost down to 91lbs. She was a head secretary for Disney Studios and now she can't balance her check book. There are pluses and minuses to every surgery. I'm happy with my vsg even if I am a slow looser. Even in I never get to single digit pants numbers, even if I don't get to goal. I'm happy! -
