Oooo gurl! OOOOO First off I'd have a sit down talk with Hubby and I'd tell him that it was WAY out of line for him to discuss that with his parents without your permission. Then I'd tell him not to discuss your finanaces with his parents EVER again. EVER! I'd call a meeting with his parents you and your hubby and firmly tell them that they are not going to try to make decisions for you and your husband. That you and your husband and children if you have any are your family now. I'd lay the MFing law down sister. Hubby also said something to my inlaws without my permission and I'm sure that mistake won't happen again. Get your tongue ready and give those in laws a lashing they won't forget.

I had a experience of eye opening the day before I decided on VSG. I had gone out with my girlfriend to a bar. As we sat there I noticed that no one looked at me not even to just conversate. I was completely ignored. It was like I didn't exist or wasn't even a person worth acknowledging. That night her and I were also taking pictures with the picutre phone. All of them I looked terrible in, I was sweaty and FAT. She took one that didn't look as bad as the others and said, "This is the most beautiful picture of you!" and I thought...is that how people see me? It was a terrible pic. I left the bar early with some excuse and decided on vsg shortly after. The ride so far has been amazing. You must know that you have to work at it though, it's not easy but it makes weightloss so much more sucessful, really gives you a fighting chance. I'd do it all over again!

6 weeks? No way! You are the first person I've heard being told to wait that long.

Just wanted to add a quick not and say if pumping doesn't work for you stop doing it. I had to pump for my son while my elder was in the hospital and it TORE MY NIPPLES UP! like bloody hamburger meat and that was with a hospital grade pump. FYre is right on. I've nursed my little one through having the sleeve and I'm 4 months post op he and I are doing great.

Wow, you have lost quite a bit recently haven't you? WTG? Give some pointers for us slow losers? Still doing low carb or counting calories?

I have a 30pound 3 year old that I lifted when I had to after surgery. My hubby was home for a week after my surgery so I didn't do much at all that week but after that I did.

I'm a little over 4 months out and for lunch I had 5 grapes and 4 pieces of sauteed shrimp. I'm stuffed!

Usually low calorie = high carb and I'm one of those ppl who just can't lose on high carb no matter how low cal.

That is great news! My arms are so flabby and I know my tummy will be too. I was almost your same weight though I think you might be a little shorter and shaped like you too so its' nice to know that I might one day be as small.

I'd wait till you left the hospital but other than that go for it!

You can get Odwalla at Target and even Walmart. It is 40g for that entire bottle though!

I know how you feel, I feel the same way. It seems when I was researching this surgery I just didn't see any of the bad. I must have just chosen not to because I'm sure it was there. At times I wish I had gone for the DS even though I'm losing quite well.

Got up to weigh this morning and I have dropped 3lbs in 2 days. Haven't seen a drop like that since my first month. Not only does that put me -2 for the challenge but I'm also 1/2 way to goal!

I don't know if we can but I do. I usually take 2 before bed.

Friday was my son's birthday and we took him to an indoor waterpark. All day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we ate out. I swam a lot too but I guess not nearly as much as I ate. I ate some bad stuff too. 1/2 of a starbucks bear claw, a chicken tender and handful of fries, sweet tea 1/2 of a dove chocolate bar. The point of this post is, when I was reading about VSG I only read posts about how easy it was for the weight to fall off. It has been relatively easy to lose as opposed to dieting preop but it is NOT a magic cure all. Probably those post were out there and I just decided not to read them or to think that wouldnt' be me. The fact is that you do have to watch what you eat, it's not just smaller portions. I eat 1/4 of what I used to eat but I still gain or stall. I am starting today on low carb and really kicking my butt into gear. I want to lose this weight and lose it now. I can be more lax once I'm at goal. I hope I can look back next month and see a big weight loss and not be beating myself up as I am today.

The person I was speaking to had NOT had the plication. Read any of my post and see I haven't ever been anything but supportive to anyone after they have had any type of surgery. I was going for the band first and read some honest feedback about it and thank god didn't do that. I then wanted to go for plication because it was said to be reversable and still the same results but in my research it isn't and the results are not as good. Would it be good of me to just say nothing? Should I not share the hours of research I have done? Where do you see a plication has gotten reversed after a patient having it for any significant amount of time like 1 year post op?

Sounds like you can eat a little more but you are also at the time to have a stall so I wouldnt' sweat it.

The reason why I say it's a gimic is because you can still have leaks with the plication and you cannot reverse it. So why would someone choose plication over VSG? If you just search plication you can find stories from people who have had it and I've read a few on here (of course no surgery will be a success for everyone) where they have lost less than 20lbs after a few months. I researched the plication, I thought it would be safer and a better way to go but the more I researched it the more it just seemed like it was a way to do surgery on people who were scared of vsg.

Keep reading it seems to me that plication is a gimic. I've not read anyone who has had it and met goal. It seems more are disapointed with the results than happy.
