Rapidly Gaining Weight 2 Years Post Op Sleeve Surgery
SouthernSleever replied to nikki042's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I do not monitor my food such as food journaling and I never have. I try to really listen to my body, what feels good, when am I hungry, why am I hungry? There are many reasons that I might eat more one day than the other such as monthly cycles, more activity, sickness, weather. I did join with my friend on myfitnesspal and kept track for 3 days. My calories averaged around 1600, a little more on days when I worked out, and less on days I was more sedentary. My carbs tended to be right around 100/day. I weigh everyday and if I see it bounce more than 4-5 lbs I will restrict higher carb foods. I did not change the way I ate once I hit maintenance and I do not always eat to stuffed though it happens now and again. I find eating more of a chore than a pleasure. The food still taste great but I would rather get dinner done with and onto something else. The friends I have recently gained bring food when we are going out or we share Entrees. They do track food since they compete as athletes. It's very hard to have friends constantly going out to restaurants and you have to resist ordering something terribly bad for you. I also must say that I started smoking (again) 8 months post op and I am still a smoker. I plan to quit again in January and I expect a 5-10lb bounce up. While I am not counting calories or logging food I do realize that I always gain over the Holidays and with my plan to quit smoking I am keeping a close eye on the scale. -
You look amazing and size 0?? YEAH!!!!

Rapidly Gaining Weight 2 Years Post Op Sleeve Surgery
SouthernSleever replied to nikki042's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I really think what has kept me from regaining is that I'm more active with my new body. I try lots of sports and stay busy. It also has a lot to do with the friends you surround yourself with. All of my previous friends dropped me (their choice not mine) and a lot of my new friends I've met through sports activities. -

8 Months Out N Stalled For 5 Months!
SouthernSleever replied to gwynne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd get off the shakes and sub in some eggs or meat and more of it. I think your body might be in starvation mode with 800 calories. So eat more times a day but stay low carb and ditch the shakes. -

Alright here are my thoughts on the subject. The external mons area will have loose skin, just like the rest of you. It's still a little puffy and when I have a LBL I plan to have it lifted and lipoed as it seems to retain fat more. The lips are now thinner which makes access to the tender parts easier however, get this, it also allows air in so be prepared for farting noises when doing certain positions. Hubby said he didn't feel a difference in tightness of the vaginal canal. I do NOT do kegels as they actually weaken the ligaments but instead do squats which firms up the muscles that keep everything tight. -
Help- Hair Is Falling Out
SouthernSleever replied to Earwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember it's not because those hair follicles aren't growing it's that their strands are weak so the more you mess with them, the more they break. You will see short spiky hairs growing in their place. I only wash mine when necessary maybe twice a week. -

Freaking Out, Need To Lose 10Lbs Asap!
SouthernSleever replied to Queengamez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do low carb like a mofo! You can do it! Don't let yourself have more than 20 carbs a day and you will lose it forsure! -
I'm not scared of the pain. I just worry about getting a rash or something. My skin is so sensitive, when I shave I get crazy bumps no matter how careful I am or what I use.

Boobies are gone along with the rest of your fat. As far as the gummies I don't believe they are approved for use in the US but I wish they were. -
Trying To Stop Losing Weight!
SouthernSleever replied to robbie_rotten's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seriously? This is an issue that many people deal with. I'm still okay with losing a little more weight but my face is starting to look older and sickly. I'd be about 7-10lbs less if I didn't have excess skin and that would put me at 129-132 for being 5'6" with quite a bit of muscle mass. (My pic is before i reached goal a year ago). To the OP don't worry, you are pretty new out from surgery. Around a year out I could eat 1/3 more than at 6 months out. Your weight loss will slow down and you will even out. What is your weight/height now? -
Alright girls, I'm going to trust you and give it a try. Anything I need to know? I freaking hate shaving so I hope this is a better solution. Also anything I need to look out as far as salon cleanliness? Shouldn't they use a new stick every dip into the wax or something?

Help- Hair Is Falling Out
SouthernSleever replied to Earwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No way to stop it. The breakage is from when you were first sleeved and your body reserves it's supply to keep going it's just long enough now where the strands are starting to break. It wil grow back but try not to wash it too often or mess with it a lot, will keep those strands around longer. -
You can't. Truth, sucks but you can't.

Is. Dr. Aceves really THAT great?
SouthernSleever replied to Roudoudou's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
What "facts" are people looking for? I did plenty of research and found several stories of some other Drs in Mexico about complications and robberies but I never found one negative story about Aceves. I also emailed several of his previous patients including OD. I spoke with the coordinator several times, interviewed at least 10 other surgeons here in the US. I went through nursing school up until my final semester so I had been doing clinicals in hospitals in the US. Dr Aceves was everything and more I had hoped for. His staff was wonderful and the hospital cleaner than any I had ever seen. Dr A Did have someone who had complications from a blood clot but that is not necessarily the surgeon's fault. I'm 2 yrs 2 months post op. 10lbs below goal. I've never made a dime off Dr A and would pay out of pocket (as I did) before having free surgery from any other Doctor I know. That might not work for you "facts" but all we can give is experience and that's mine. -

From One Longtimer To Another--I Need Your Help
SouthernSleever replied to Rhonda Roo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi ya! I'm 2 yrs 2 months post op. I reached goal 6 months ago and have been holding pretty steady until this last month. I made a goal not to gain weight (which i do every holiday) this winter. I've been sticking to low carb which has suited me well thus far and i've lost an additional 5lbs this month. Breakfast 1 egg, 2 bacon, 1/2 toast snack motz cheese lunch roast beef 3oz and brocolli 1 oz Snack cottage/motz cheese dinner grilled chicken (or other protien) and veggies I drink coffee all through the day and use cream and ideal sweetner, sometimes i use vanilla (not sugar free or fat free) creamer 5tbs. When I eat I start with protien first then work my way around. I eat until I feel satisfied not full and then I make sure Im active. Don't buy what you shouldn't have. chips are my downfall so I don't buy them. I have Snacks and sweets a few times a week that don't fit in with low carb (ie a doughnut last night) but for the majority of the time I focus on protien first. -
Okay another question, when you get a brazillian how soon after do you feel comfortable enough to have sex? How long for the swelling (if there is any) or redness to go away? Do they get EVERY hair there? How about the few random hairs that are very close to delicate areas?
