Having a super difficult time eating SLOWLY!!!!!!!
SouthernSleever replied to italianlady13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never have eaten slow. The thing is to measure your food before you eat and chew well. I haven't slowed down a bit. -
very nice! I think this thread should have pics

Scale hasn't moved in WEEKS!
SouthernSleever replied to amybaby33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
With the lap band and other gains and losses your body might be holding onto the extra weight saying, "Wait just a minute, what is going on here? Are we starving?" After it gets it's barrings it will say, "Oh she's eating, I have enough protien. We can get rid of this fat now." and you will see a big drop. I remember stalling for 3 weeks and waking up to a 5lb loss on day and a 3 the next. Keep away from carbs and keep on keeping on. -

Are there any sleevers out there that have gained a lot back?
SouthernSleever replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 10 months out and I still have great restriction. I worked 6 1/2 hours cleaning a house and was SO hungry on the way home I stopped at Burger King and got a Whopper Jr. I took the bottom bun off and ate it that way. It was just right. I worry about gaining back and I feel like I've stopped losing. I'm not doing great on my plan, i'll admit, but not horrible either. <sigh> -
Situation with wife and weight lost.
SouthernSleever replied to lash44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would encourage her to "get healthy" with you. Just because she is of normal weight doesn't mean she's healthy and it would take the emphasis off of the weight portion. Work out together, compliment her arms getting toner or whatever. If she gets healthier there's nothing wrong with that! -
A question for those who lost 100+ pounds
SouthernSleever replied to VSG4aHealthierMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can see my stats in my signature. I would say I would workout more had I had my 6 months to do over again. You can see December totally screwed me, that's when I ate whatever carbs I wanted to, this month will be the same. Keep your carbs under 50 and keep moving are my suggestions! -
20 Mi Hiking & NO LOSS!
SouthernSleever replied to losingitin2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You don't need more carbs. Keeping your carbs below 50 a day is a good guideline, it's the water, to rebuild muscle (after you tear them which working out does) it requires a lot of water. -
My story - at least the first 5 months worth
SouthernSleever replied to DoOver's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just take a large spoon and get a big swig of it. The people at the heath food store and the back of the bottle will tell you more about it. Spectrum makes a great probiotic but they can be pricey, the store brand will do just as well. -
Hey hey soon to be sleeved! You are here and ready to embark on the greatest journey ever! We are here to support you so lean on us when you need us!

You are doing great! Tip for you probiotics will keep you regular and they are so good for you. Get some of the refrigerated kind from a heath food story and just take a tbs a day. -

If you like coffee have the pressed coffee and the deserts are yumlicious. I had the sampler entree and it was great, also the cactus was good. I went all out <blush> -

The Resturant down stairs is amazing! Just because you were the only one he picked up doesn't mean you will be the only one on that floor. You most certainly won't be. You can feel free to PM me or text (pm and i'll give you my cell) or call if you need a friend who's been there done that. There are about 8 rooms off the hall where you will be walking, peek in and introduce yourself. I did to everyone who was there when I was and had some great convos. Ladies were coming by to check on me and me to them.
