    Carbonation

Thanks so much for sharing about carbonated beverages! I am 4 days post op and I have been imagining drinking a Coke Zero in my mind quite frequently. In addition, I was perplexed about the NEVER eat rice, Pasta, or potatoes rule that my physician tries to enforce. I am hoping that proportion control and making healthy food choices consistently will allow me some latitude to once in a while eat or drink something I really enjoy. NO longer will I allow the carbonated drinks and processed foods rule my life but I will be more successful if I give myself permission to drink or eat foods I miss eating during the weight loss phase very infrequently. The "all or nothing" approach to eating food (or most anything in my life) is not helpful for me in the long term. Thanks for listening. Keep up your tremendous progress!

    Would love a buddy please.

I am 4 days post op and I am struggling with food and Water issues. Very little of what I am allowed to eat or drink pass for food. Several "foods" are already making me gag. On the bright side, my stomach/abdomen are less sore each day and I am feeling a little stronger every day. However, I am talking to myself and telling myself to just "hang" in there and I wil be fine. I would enjoy chatting with you or any other "newbies" in the group.

    Nauseated and hungry..

Oh my goodness......I agree with you about the dislike for any more protein shakes, jello, and soups. I still have 10 days left of a liquid diet to go until I can eat "real" food. Are there any liquid foods you have discovered during your post-op diet that taste better? I am looking for soups (or any food type) to help me through this difficult period. Any ideas you have I will appreciate very much. Continued good success!
  5. I am just 24 hours out of surgery. My discomfort and pain was minimal..but I am overwhelmed with water issues, liquid issues, and food issues...I am only able to take 1 sip of liquid every 5 minutes. I have gotten 3 rounds of hiccups and mild stomach discomfort. I believe the seriousness of what I have done to my body is finally impacting on me. Any words of encouragement would be appreciate.
