Time to quit my BAD habit!
Maddie replied to meriteri's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit 2 weeks before my surgery. So, I am 6 weeks smoke free. I tried the patch but I had an allergic reaction to the adhesive. So, I just went cold turkey. It sucked but, I did it! I am so happy that I quit. I wish you the best of luck, you CAN do it. -

With the way you workout, the sleeve and you are going to compliment each other well. Best of luck. -
Gratz on your success and thanks for posting. It's nice to hear from someone who is 2 yrs out. Very encouraging. Thanks.

Maddie replied to GeorgieGirl1957's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome and gratz on making the decision to change your life. I had most of the same co-morbidities as you. Since my surgery (a month ago) I am already off of my blood pressure meds, my CPAP machine and am already getting some relief from my chronic back pain. It only gets better! Best of luck and keep us posted. -

To weigh or not to weigh....that is the question!
Maddie replied to SarahD.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to be addicted to the scale, which meant it dictated how I felt. It was horrible. It's really hard, but if you can put the scale away and only weigh yourself once a week, you will see better results and not be on such an emotional roller coaster from day to day. Trust that if you are doing the right things that you will lose. -
Best of luck.

LapBand Erosion Anyone?
Maddie replied to blondie1007's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I personally can't relate, but we have several members who had revisions from band to sleeve due to similar problems. Best of luck with what you decide to do, keep us posted. -
Hope everything went well and you are great. Keep us posted.

My grandkids got dropped off early this morning. I still had my nightshirt on and was fixing them breakfast, when my 6 yr old granddaughter said, "Nana, your legs are getting skinny". I thought wow, if a 6 yr old would notice that's pretty good. I was on cloud nine. Of course it was short lived. Later we went swimming and when we were done and got back in the house, I took off her bathing suit, wrapped a towel around her and tucked it in. Then I took off my suit, wrapped a towel around me (as far as it would go), when she looked up and said "no towels big enough huh?! God love her, LOL.

Maddie replied to shasta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad you are going to go for counseling. That can really help you pinpoint where the issues are. You have been through a lot. Surgery is a major thing for the body to recover from. I wish I had some words of wisdom for you. Hang in there and let us know how it goes. -
YAY. Huge gratz. You have done really well. It must feel great to get those compliments. Keep up the good work.
