Oh wow, that's a huge difference. I am really pleased to see your progress. Keep up the good work.

It's taken 2 months but it seems things are finally settling down. Just the past few days I have felt more energetic and focused. Hopefully I am on the mend for good this time. I lost 12 lbs pre-op and post op I have lost 34.4 lbs and 39 1/2 inches. I had a really cool NSV today. I tried on the jeans I wore the day before my surgery. The last time I had them on, I had to suck in my gut to zip them. I put them on today so easily that when it was time to take them off, I just had to slide them down, and they were still zipped and buttoned.

I know it sounds cliche, but you REALLY do look like a different person. I'm blown away by the change. Gratz!

Thanks so much. It's so wonderful to feel good again, the weight loss is just a bonus. :crying: -
Donna is right, it would be up to the DR or the O.R. staff as it is their responsibility to see that everything is sterile.

Lab results back... might have to cancel?
Maddie replied to Dansha's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm so glad to see that you are handling this in stride. It's tough just hanging in the balance, not knowing what will happen. In the hospital I had to take liquid potassium and it was the nastiest stuff EVER. Those pills may be big but at least it's a pill, lol. You hand tough gf. hugs -

I rarely remember my dreams, but I understand what you're saying. After the situation you have been through, I can surely understand it bringing you comfort.

I know this is so scary and frustrating after all you had to go through to get to this point. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and believe it will work out. hugs, Maddie -
I know they are more expensive, but the ONLY way I have been able to get them down is by using the RTD(ready to drink) ones. The powder is just horrible and those little protein shots are so sickening sweet. Right now I use "Oh Yeah" brand in the chocolate milkshake flavor. One other thing is to get some Jay Robb unflavored protein powder, you can add it to casseroles, drinks, whatever and it is usually hidden well. Good luck to you.

Maddie replied to cristinka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had discomfort when I first started moving from liquids. I think part of it was having to learn to eat slower and to chew my food better before swallowing. -

I was the same way, for me it was like "breaking up". It left me with some sadness, but it does get better. -
3 days post op with a slight fever

Take it easy, stay hydrated and keep an eye on that temp. If it gets too high call your dr. Take care. -
It's a foamy, frothy, mucousy, retching type of vomit. It's caused by eating too fast, eating too much, not chewing your food to the consistency of applesauce, eating some food your tummy isn't ready for, dry food without a slider, etc....... The body begins to produce large quantities of mucus/saliva to help things along. One of the first signs of trouble can be a runny nose indicating that you're getting FULL. This is your body basically telling you one more bite could be trouble. Chew your food well Take your time eating - Put the fork down between bites Use sauces, etc with dry foods such as chicken, steak, tuna.

Not for me personally, but there are a lot of people that say they get a hiccup when their tummy is full and that's when they should stop eating. Hang in there till Sunday and stay hydrated until you get to mushies.
