What surgery can i tell people i've had instead of telling them about the sleeve?
Fatherjonz replied to jemmacahill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honesty is the best policy...but if that doesn't work for you...when asked what the surgery is for, a woman can say "female problems"... typically people (especially men)won't ask more questions. -
Hi, I see you are down 35 pounds! CONGRATULATIONS! So how has it been? What food stage are you in? Does St Joe's have any kind of support group after surgery? How long before you were back at work? Yep, I still have a million questions. I know that Doc has done 22 sleeves at St Joes...but you're the only one I've seen on here. I get to see Kim again on Wednesday...really like her...she has helped me to understand..and take some action....Greg

Your English is great...don't apologize...keep writing and letting people know how you are doing. 90 kilos is 198 pounds... so you are on the path to losing that extra weight. Like Jean told you...sip...walk...sip.. and get that protein in so you body will heal. Greg -

Hi, Glad you made it through and are home recovering. The "too big liver" sounds like they didn't have you on a pre-op diet... Now that you are home..time to drink water and protein...there are lots of great ideas here on how to get that protein in... Blessings as you begin this new life. -

What's the deal with Greek Yogurt?
Fatherjonz replied to HatheryOnHerWay's topic in Food and Nutrition
There are lots of brands...I compared and found that they are not all created equal. Some are high in carbs, others low in protein. The one I eat has 24 grams of protein in 140 calories. This is far different than the Yoplait Light I used to eat... -
I've used a CPap for a couple of years...yes difficult at first..but now I love it. I use a gel mask which covers only my nose...it is soft and comfortable. The noise is much like a white noise machine...soothing. I would encouage you to find a mask that is comfortable, and stick with it. It has changed my life for the better... but like most things worth doing..it takes time. Blessings

Speak up those with leaks & infections!
Fatherjonz replied to Can.sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for sharing this, we who are still antipicating our sleeve need to be aware, and make a good decisions about our surgery. Your sharing is very helpful. Some times I forget that this is major...and just as it will be life-giving it can be life-taking. Glad to know that you are on the mend. That indeed you've been given a 'second chance.' Blessings!
