Great tips. :scared0:

How do you handle your sleeve and dating. Do you tell them that you had surgery? If so, how long do you wait? If not, do you just keep it private? Are you ever asked about your food choices/portions now that your stomach holds a lot less food and you cannot drink liquids? I am sure many guys would just think that I am being a girl and like many girls just watching calories but I am sure along the way I will come across some curious guys who will ask. How do you handle that? Just be honest?

High Blood Pressure & Diabetes after WLS
imagine.dream.inspire replied to Sandy Johnson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't have to be over weight to be diabetic. I don't know why doctors always base everything on weight. Yes, in *some* cases it helps your blood sugar to lose weight, but it takes much more. You have to watch the type of foods you eat. If you're eating all these carbs, that won't help you one bit. As you mentioned, family history plays a role as well. Regular exercise is important as well. Same with BP. Its not just weight that elevates it. -
need ideas for mushies...

Re: meats Check with your doctor. My doc said absolutely no meats until after day 31. Not even if pureed. -
Has anyone felt like they aren't...
imagine.dream.inspire replied to texashopeful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you're all losing great!! 38 pounds in a month? 50 in two months? Wow. If you girls think your weight loss is slow, mine is snail pace. LOL. :biggrin0: -
Day 0 just got ho,e from hospital !
imagine.dream.inspire replied to cmiranda4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. Walk and walk some more. That is the only thing that will get rid of the gas and the pressure. I was walking the day following surgery around the hospital and going round and round in my hospital room at night. Even when I got home I still had gas and again, it was walking, walking, walking. After a few days it feels better. -
blood work--how often?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to Lisalu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me it was 1st check-up at 3 months consisting of an upper GI, CBC, and SMAC24. You should check with your surgeon (even if out of state) to see if he recommends other tests. -
Quality of life after sleeve
imagine.dream.inspire replied to 4romatl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
In a heartbeat. I wish I would have had the surgery sooner, but I wasn't mentally ready yet. I am now and if I had to do it over again, I would still have the surgery. At first you go through an adjustment period. Your stomach is healing and in a way retraining itself. It has to get used to the new foods and with it you might have some side effects here and there. Its the same if you were to injure your leg. You wouldn't just go run a marathon. You would take it slow until you were stronger. Same thing with your stomach. I had some issues with my stomach refusing certain foods and nausea. I was over producing acid as well and didn't really want to eat. That is not the case now. All of that has gone away. I can eat, but in smaller portions, and my quality of life HAS improved. I feel great. -
(some pics)proof you have to lift weights!
imagine.dream.inspire replied to ryansgirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Wow! Great work. Now I feel hopeful. I am doing cardio now but am itching to start some strength training. I want hot arms as well. -
I have the flab as well. I was just going to do a search for suggestions. I know it won't be perfect but I am hoping that I can at least help the flab a bit. LOL.

Breakfast???
imagine.dream.inspire replied to roshov's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GNC sells cups with a shaker ball inside. They work great. You just shake it up. -
How much rabbit food
imagine.dream.inspire replied to notsofluffy's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I eat what I can. If I've met my protein requirement, i'll just eat veggies as my stomach will allow. I try not to stuff myself on it if I am going to eat meats or am short on protein grams for the day. -
I love him. No complaints. Excellent! My mother just scheduled her surgery with him. That is how much I trust him.

Can I eat....?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to Mommyof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should wait a bit. I tried and it just clumps. Not a nice experience. -
Breakfast???
imagine.dream.inspire replied to roshov's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese mixed with yogurt. You can mix in some protein powder for extra protein. -
Ramen Noodles?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to pistolpete's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used them when I was on clears. I only used a small amount of the packet at a time. It is very salty so a little really does go a long way. My favorite was the pork flavor. Yum -
Counting Carbs -- Not!
imagine.dream.inspire replied to ouroborous's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My doctor leans on a lower-carb diet. Personally I eat lower carbs because of medical conditions with insulin/hormones. I am a carb counter and at least in my case every carb counts. Since surgery I stay around 30 but have gone as high as 50. -
Do you feel irritable, weak, and unable to concentrate at first?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt tired at first. My energy ran out fast. Now I have more energy and can go longer without needing to rest. My concentration is a little off and has been since surgery. I didn't experience irritability. -
What do YOU eat in a typical day?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to JillianMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That might be the reason why you're able to consume larger amounts. The liquids are pushing the food right through. Did you discuss your medical conditions with Dr. Almanza before surgery? -
Hotdogs?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to greeneyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've tried chopping some into my scramble egg and it didn't go down as smoothly. I haven't tried since but at this point have no desire to do so. SParkle - In the states the hot dogs do not include as many carbs. Most average 1.5 oz. and 1-5 carbs. The regular beef hebrew national is only 1g carb. -
Sagging skin?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to KathyM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am already seeing some sagging in my mid-section and on my arms. I don't think that there is anything that I can do for the stomach area. Eventually I will need surgery, I am sure. The arms are a different story. I think I can work on that once I am allowed to do some strength training. -
sensitive to smells??
imagine.dream.inspire replied to delawaregal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. It is normal. I am also sensitive to smell now and taste. -
Scale issue..
imagine.dream.inspire replied to AND:)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All scales vary. Some are more accurate than others. Do you have dumbbells around? Try weighing one and see which scale displays the closest weight. -
Need Ideas
imagine.dream.inspire replied to Mommyof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about yogurt? Or some refried Beans? Your body is adjusting that is why the scale suddenly stops. 21 pounds in 10 days is a lot of weight to lose. It'll pick up soon enough. I think a lot of us go through this but eventually it evens out. -
When did you stall?
imagine.dream.inspire replied to SParkle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hit mine around the 4th week. It was really frustrating but then the scale began to move again.
